Quarantine Day 43

Yesterday I cooked some fried rice, some steamed chicken and some curry eggplant. The curry eggplant didn't quite go as planned

So yesterday they ease the movement control by allowing two people to go our doing grocery shopping. Which is what we did yesterday. We separated and when to two different grocery shops. It's our two weeks worth of groceries. Besides that this new normal is going to take a while getting used to. I miss going out but I think we can have everything we want at home. I do miss catching up with my friends. It's funny since we don't see each other but we don't want to video call.

Mamma Mia Here we go again

The B side track of the movie

encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR...

What is it about?
It's a sequel to the first movie. Same thing but with more flashbacks

The Good
Love the songs
The story is so-so

The Bad
Not their best songs. Well all of ABBA songs are great. But not the songs that I liked

The Ugly
Did Meryl Streep demanded more pay? and did they shoehorn her to add more viewers?

After credits: Yes. More of a blooper

Verdict: It's an okay movie.

Quarantine Day 42

Yesterday I made roast chicken with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes. Yummy indeed

What to talk about since it's almost the same thing every day. Some countries such as Spain and Italy has started to open their countries. Business to continue as usual. The problem with this is that until the virus is totally gone. It's going to be worse when people are in public. My wife's company just announce that they will be working from home until december. My mom said that she is not coming here until the foreseeable future. So it's just sucky news all around

Incredibles 2

It picks up right after the first movie

encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT...

What is it about?
It centres around the Parr family and the aftermath of the events from the first movie

The Good
Love the action in this movie
Jack Jack is the real star of the show
We could guess the bad guy like 30 minutes in
The kids have more screen time which is great

The Bad
Okay since Supers are banned in the first place. Shouldn't they just left it. Since the bad guy motivation can be settled by not doing anything
I think if they did a third movie... It should be 15 years in the future where Jack Jack is the villain because he is super powerful. OR in the near future all supers died and Jack Jack is the only one left. Really that could be an awesome movie

The Ugly
Nothing much. It was very enjoyable

After Credits: No

Verdict: It's a fun and enjoyable movie. Worth a watch

Quarantine Day 41

Yesterday I cook spaghetti bolognese for the girls and aglio olio for the adults. Fasting is being going great.

So we now have reached 3 million infected with 200 thousand more dead. So if we do some math if they say 2% of the world's population will be infected so that means it will 140 million. Assuming for every 3 million 200 thousand will die. That means that we are looking at close to 9 million dead. The question is how long will this last. Like my country the curve is going down but everywhere else it unlikely. They say things will die down in September. But it doesn't look like we are seeing any end in sight.

Monday, April 27, 2020

Quarantine Day 40

It's been 40 days and I still don't know how to spell quarantine... So yesterday we ordered out so I didn't have to cook so that's a plus

Well we are less than 10000 cases to get to 3 million worldwide infected. There are some countries that will open their country and will resume business back to normal. In my opinion that is really a bad idea and it going to cost them more problems in the end. The way I see it that if they open the country while the infection is still ongoing. It just going to make it worse. We will end everything by saying only time will tell.

Crazy Rich Asians

This movie is like watching real life in action

encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR...

What is it about?
A billionaire man returns home with his girlfriend and his family doesn't like her

The Good
Akwafina is entertaining
There are some bits that I like
Singapore is not like what the movie shows. It's basically a visit Singapore movie

The Bad
I've seen and experienced this people in real life. So in glamourising them make for entertainment nowdays
The trailer shows that the movie is a comedy. But there is no comedy that much. It's quite a serious money about betrayal, family and fitting in
Rich people's problem is just funny

The Ugly
It didn't show what happens after the end but I think they will save it for the sequel (which I am going to watch)

After Credits: Yes... like 10 seconds

Verdict: It fun to watch rich people having rich people problem but this movie is not one of them. I didn't quite enjoy it

Quarantine Day 39

Yesterday I cook some Tom Yam mixed flavour and some chicken soup.

So what new in the covid front. Nothing much but now there are new clusters that the government has just been made aware of. It all stems from the foreign workers that came here. Legal or illegally. The problem is they are scared of authority. It's probably due to the fact they don't understand that the country is just trying to help them. So unless we find all of them.. Looks like we are going to be stuck at home for a while. In world new, the president of the United States (Trump) ask the nation to inject themselves with sanitizer in order to cleanse their body. I do hope that all my friends in the States stay safe even with this dumbfukery

Rampage

A movie based on a videogame rarely works... This shows

contentserver.com.au/assets/639531_rampage_1349...

What is it about?
A movie about animals becoming large and terrorize a city. Like the videogame

The Good
The Rock is always good in any movie he is in
There are some funny moments

The Bad
This movie tries to be everywhere at once and also no where at the same time
A lot of things is trying to happen at the same time
Forgettable corporate bad guys
Unless the Rock has super powers... The final fight scene is really not logical. And I've watched the fast and the furious movies

The Ugly
What was the reason the bad guys lure the monsters to the city? I mean it's like obvious they are going to tear the city apart. If it was a desert I could understand

After Credits: No

Verdict: Watch if you have nothing to watch.. If not.. feel free to skip

Quarantine Day 38

Yesterday was the first day of fasting so I decided to make something that I've never tried before. It's called "gulai kawah". It like curry but it isn't as much.Taste good but its a bit under salted due to I can't taste food that much

So fasting in a state of pandemic is a bit humbling. I remember last year where we could go to food markets and get a sea of food. This year everything else has been cancelled. So it's up to us to make our own meal. Well that's no partly true since there are online orders that are available but the feeling is just not the same. My wife seems to be enjoying work from home and now fast from home since she can sleep it off... There is a silver lining to everything right????

Quarantine Day 37

Yesterday I cooked Mongolian stir fried beef. It was a recipe from my best friend. We both are cooking the same meal even though we are thousands of miles apart.

Yesterday the government announced that the lockdown will be for another 2 weeks which makes the end date is May 12th. Until there are not more cases (which seems unlikely anytime soon) we are looking at least for 6 months or more. In other news is that last night was the first day of Ramadan. Which means is 30 days of fasting inside the lockdown. This is going to be a very unique time to fast. But we are all going to presevere anyway

Thursday, April 23, 2020

Quarantine Day 36

Yesterday we ate some KFC and for dinner we just cook the leftovers.

We have less cases today than yesterday. This is good but we are not out of the woods yet. The word is Singapore just  had 10000 cases in less than a week. This is due to their foreign workers. My wife just heard that even if the government reopen the country. The chances of her university to open again is highly unlikely. This goes for the schools as well. The new normal is depressing but I am trying to make the best of it. Tomorrow also will be the first day of Ramadan. So fasting will start in this global pandemic. This is really a weird year.

All the money in the world

This movie is a must watch for all those stingy rich people

contentserver.com.au/assets/603882_allthemoneyi...

What is it about?
It's the true story of John Paul Getty (a rich oil tycoon) and the events of his grandchild kidnapping

The Good
The storyline is good. It turns out they over exaggerate the events but it does make into an interesting story.
You can't help but hate JP Getty (played by Christopher Plummer) and how a dick he is being

The Bad
The story does drag on for a while. The kid was kidnapped like 4 times.
They didn't quite explain what is Mark Walhbergs character does. He is some kind of fixer is assume

The Ugly
Nothing much

After Credits: No

Verdict: It's a good story. Not a must watch but it's acceptable

Quarantine Day 35

Yesterday I cooked some fried macaroni for the girls and some veggie soup for the adults (it was a flavour bomb)

So the cases are getting higher and higher and the first world countries are trying to get them open up. Take case and point of singapore. They only had a small number of cases and then they relax their lockdown control. And now in the span of 1 week they already have 3000 cases. The sad part is that the cases, majority comes from the foreign workers. So my guess is what is happening to Singapore is going to happen to the United States. Everyone wants to be free... I can imagine if more than 1 million people dead. They probably won't reach 1 million dead by next year. But their numbers are very erratic. So you never know

Quarantine Day 34

I missed the blog for Monday (Today is wednesday). So on Monday I had to send my wife to the doctors. So the girls had leftover chicken for lunch and for dinner we bought food (curry) from the nearby shop.

Going to the hospital was okay. It wasn't that bad. I had to use a different road going through to avoid the jam. So it turns out we can actually avoid the roadblock if we follow the trunk roads.

Monday, April 20, 2020

Quarantine Day 33

Yesterday I cooked garlic fried rice and for dinner I made fried chicken two ways which is buttermilk chicken and spicy Korean chicken. Both were delicious

So almost miss today cut off in blogging. Good news is that our cases have dropped to 85 cases. Our curve is actually going down. But we can’t be complacent. Since Singapore did that and now they are overflowing with cases. Let’s see how it goes

Sunday, April 19, 2020

Quarantine Day 32

Yesterday I didn't cooked. We order some nasi lemak for lunch and for dinner my mother in law gave us some beef rendang.

So as the world's cases continue to rise. Our country curve has been beginning to get flat. With the least amount of cases yesterday (54) and if the trend continues. There is a chance that the lockdown will be lifted. My hope that they will add another 2 more weeks for safe measure. But lets see how it goes

Final Fantasy VII Remake

I don't like playing RPGs due to the fact I don't like static gameplay and long winded storylines. But there is one series that I would try to play (even if sometimes I don't enjoy it). That series is Final Fantasy. I've played FFVII close to 20 years ago and I did enjoy it. I knew going in the remake that this is a totally take on the gameplay.

Game no: 364
Genre: RPG
Platform: PS4
Release Date: 2020
Factory Sealed: 202

Final Fantasy VII Remake - Title Screen - YouTube

Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Turn-based combat for classic mode - Millenium

What is it about?
The story about a group called Avalanche and how they try to save the city from a Shinra Company (of course it more than that but that is the gist of it)

What I liked?
First of all what made the game for me is the combat. The combat is amazing. The game controls like a fighting game. It's a one button combo but what makes it deep is once you fill your ATB (Active Time Battle) Gauge  you can execute different combos and spells which makes it fast paced and very nerve wracking
The ability to play with different characters. Cloud, Tifa, Barret and Aerith all give different play styles and movement. So you can strategize on how you want to want to approach the enemy
The Music. I rarely talk about the music since music does elevate the game but the music here is on another level. I think it's due to the fact that I've heard this music before and now it became more amazing since it's enhance the gameplay experience. The best music is the combat music. It really gets the blood pumping
The storyline and voice acting are way better. And they provide a lot of back story to all of the characters
Weapons and materia slots. Everytime you change a weapon and equip a materia it shows in game as well in the cutscene. That small feature is really awesome in my book

What I didn't liked?
It's not as open world as they say. The map is a small area where you go in long stretches of road until you get to the next area. Some of this areas looks climbable but in this game it has a lot of invisible walls
Lots and lots of loading screens. Loading screens comes from walking into a tight corner for at least 1 or 2 minutes or going down a tunnel. It really breaks the action.
Materia system is different than the old game. Really need to learn that one.
The main part that is going to bug me is that knowing that is not even 10% of the game and we have to wait for an unknown time for the next part.

Status: Finish the game until the credits (32 hours)

Fun factor: One of the best game of this year. Easily my top 3 (for now). A must play for everyone

Saturday, April 18, 2020

Quarantine Day 31

Yesterday we ate more leftovers. I think I overcooked. But it's okay. It's finally all over and today I don't need to cook lunch. Dinner maybe not

So 31 days at home (today is day 32) and I've been looking at the news and it shows that the US wants to open back the country for the sake of the economy. In my opinion if they do that they will probably lose a lot more people. Can you imagine if the US lost half its population (180 million). The US is going to be a barren wasteland. The UK extended their lockdown for another 3 weeks but when I ask my friend it sounds like they are not being too careful about social distancing... Only time will tell

Friday, April 17, 2020

Quarantine Day 30

Yesterday I cook coconut curry chicken and beef noodle soup. I had more leftover so today I am not cooking anything.

So it's officially been one month since the Movement Control order has been acted. Life is now the new normal. So we have another 9 days before they will decide to life the lockdown or extend it. I hope they extend it until June since the cases are not going down

Pitch Perfect 3

An end to a fun franchise

Pitch Perfect 3 (2017) - IMDb

What is it about?
The bellas do their last tour before hanging the curtain for good

The Good
Nothing much to complain here. It's a singing movie. The plot is just there for fun with an added song and dance. There is nothing much to dissect but if you enjoy the movie. You'll have a good time

The Bad
Wish there were more songs

The Ugly
Nothing much

After Credits: Yes

Verdict: A feel good movie. If you enjoyed the past you will enjoy this one

Quarantine Day 29

Yesterday I cooked fished and something happened. I accidentally nicked my finger and blood was splattering out all over. I did the mistake of shaking my hands so the blood was covered all over the wall. So yeah.. that happened.

We have reached 2 million infected. in perspective is only 0.00028% of the world's population. So yeah. That's not bad at all. It may seem like a big number but it hasn't reach 1% yet. So that's good. Let's check back once it reach 3 million.

Longshot

A very smart romantic comedy

The Howard – Movie Screening Invite “LONG SHOT” starring Seth ...

What is it about?
A journalist down on his luck met an acquaintance that is the start of a beautiful journey

The Good
The jokes are on point and funny
I love Charlize theron. She is so beautiful
The chemistry between the two of them is so real that it shows that even the underdog can get the girl

The Bad
Classic romantic comedy tropes but this time is reverse
No idea why they have a black friend there. I mean he is for exposition I guess

The Ugly
Nothing much

After Credits: No

Verdict: Is a fun comedic movie. Worth a watch

Quarantine Day 28

Yesterday I cooked spaghetti and meatballs for the girls and baked some potatoes for the wife. I had leftover curry noodles for lunch and made a burger for my dinner. No one eat the same thing yesterday

28 days in and really this is becoming the new normal. Nothing much we can do but just live this through. I did order some chocolate chip cookies and it supposed to be arriving today. Can't wait. There are a lot of things we can do but the simple things in life matters I guess. There is nothing much to report but I am making a lot of friends online. That is the only way to stay connected anyway.

The Hundred-Foot Journey

They skip the best part of the movie

www.gstatic.com/tv/thumb/v22vodart/10479219/p10...

What is it about?
An indian family moves to France to start a new life and finds home in the most unexpected place.

The Good
The story is compelling
When they show the food it looks delicious

The Bad
I thought it was a food movie but they don't cook that much food
It started of as a food movie and then it moved into something different
It's like two different movies into one

The Ugly
The ending sucks...

After Credits: No

Verdict: This movie can be avoided. If you like movies about food. This is not the one for you

Quarantine Day 27

Yesterday I cooked curry noodles. It was full of ingredients and I think I overdid it. I gave some to my next door neighbour

Yesterday my wife was not feeling well so I need to bring her to the clinic. Which means I need to pass another roadblock again. The cop was asking a lot of question but eventually he let us pass. Hopefully I don't need to go out anymore.

27 days (28 today) and I still can't see the light yet. Everybody thinks that it is going to be done by October but I think the number is going to go up and up and deaths are going to be more. Writing a daily thing is getting harder as well since there is not much to write about. But I just need to write a small portion day and it's okay.

Monday, April 13, 2020

Quarantine Day 26

Yesterday I send groceries to my mom in law. Also did some grocery shopping myself. But she gave me food which is Nasi Dagang. We had it both for lunch and dinner and it was terrific. Because I didn't have to cook

So yesterday I was stopped by another roadblock. I had all the documents ready so I didn't get into to much trouble. Yesterday was a lazy weekend which I spend my time playing a game. I notice that covid news has taken a backseat in media. I mean it's still there but it not the main headlines. The country is probably accepting this as the new status quo I guess. We can't do much about it so we just need to contain it as much as possible. Talking to my wife she said even if the MCO is over this is going to be our new life. We are not going anywhere until this virus is totally gone.

The thing is people see this as getting better but I think it's not even close of getting better. Everyone is looking for a vaccine which in my mind won't be ready this year. I'll give it until June until they declare a state of emergency for all the countries in the world.

Assassins Creed Origins

I never ever think I'll ever played an assassins creed game due to the fact that this series has been out for a while and I really don't want to start a series halfway through the series. But I made a promise to a friend to try it and I finally did. This is going to be a long review

Game no: 363
Genre: Action
Platform: PS4
Release Date: 2017

AC: Origins - Start Screen - YouTube

Assassins Creed Origins - GamesCom 2017 Gameplay 4K @ 2160p HD ...

What is it about?
This is the story about the origins (duh) of the assassins and how it all started. So technically I did play the first game in the series. You play as the assassin called Bayek of Siwa where he needs to get rid of the false gods all over Egypt

What I liked?
The main storyline is compelling enough and shows his beginnings as a Medjey (I think they are like protectors or something, I have no clue until now) until he becomes the Assassin he is
This game level up system is awesome. Everything you do, see, kill, find, go will earn you XP points where in turn you can upgrade your abilities to suit your playstyle. I prefer melee combat with a hint of long range attacks
The amount of weapons and the type of weapons. So weapons has five different parts (Long sword, Sickle, Heavy,  dual blades, Spear). Each weapons gives different abilities and attack moves. For example if you take heavy or dual blades you can't use the shield but you have more attack time. The amount of weapons are endless. There is weapons for every level each with different damage attack. So you don't stick with one weapon for a while since you are constantly changing. There are also legendary weapons which give buffs (fire, poison, health regeneration to name some) which ones equipt will make the game much more fun
Long range weapons (predator, longbow, triple shot, lightbow) also have the same stats as hand weapons and you use it if you want a stealth approach
I can't talk about a game without talking about the assassin part. There are only two ways of entering a enemy area. Either you go full on attack (it is great to do that if you are a couple of levels higher than your enemies) or the stealth approach if you want to go in quick. Each is fun in its own way.
Mounts which is camels and horses. They are mostly cosmetics and provides a great way to travel from point A to point B (there even have an auto move feature which is great if you need to travel long distance)
Crafting. There are a lot of animals to kill (lion, hyenas, leopards, tigers, puma, crocodiles, hippos, a bunch tons of birds) You get their skin to upgrade your gear. You also can get your material by breaking down the extra weapons that you find
The map. The map is so big there is a lot of things to do. The main game takes around 30 hours but doing everything in the map (stargazing, fast travel points discovery, enemy barracks, animal hunting, racing, fighting, swimming underwater, exploring pyramids)
Boss battles are awesome and it requires a lot of timing and strategy

What I didn't like?
The side quest is a hit and miss. and you know that the side quest is going to be long (short side quest is around 10 minutes and the long quest will take like 45 minutes) by their experience points you get.
The climbing sucks. I've seen great climbing (uncharted) so assassins creed climbing and moving around the environment seems so clunky. You don't feel the fluidity when climbing and it makes it like a chore
The map as big as it is.. It is just padding for stuff. Some people only play one game a year and this game can last about a year. After a while you feel everything like a chore.
After level 55 you can't level up anymore which sucks since that makes an incentive for you to continue
Ok this is a bit confusing. But it seem assassins creed is from the future. So it's about people from the future going back in time to relive history. But I really don't get any backstory of the future story. So that is quite frustrating.
Once you experience all the things you need to do, everything else seems like a chore.

Status: Finish the main story and side quests (Total quests 167). Close to 70 hours

Fun Factor: It's an awesome game. It's going to make my top 10 game of this year

DLC: The hidden ones

Assassin's Creed Origins DLC Dated, New Details About The Hidden ...

What is it about?
You go to a new island and help your assassin clan to liberate the island

What's new
New storyline with more people to assassinate.
Lot's more new weapons

Fun Factor: It's still more of the original game. Nothing special

DLC: Curse of the Pharaohs

The Curse of the Pharaohs | Assassin's Creed Wiki | Fandom

What is it about?
Another place is disturb when the undead come and wreck havoc

What's new
New undead enemies
You get to travel to the land of the dead which is a while different game with different enemies
All of the Pharaohs are awesome to fight
Story is more or the less the same

Fun Factor: It's better than before and it's a different pace than the original game

Murder on the Orient Express

It's interesting but

encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ...

What is it about?
Someone on the train got murdered and all of the passengers is a suspect. It is up to the worlds greatest detective to solve it.

The Good
The part of Poirot is well played by Kenneth Branagh
The story is compelling enough

The Bad
The movie is so boring. I mean.. for me to solve the crime too ages. Everyone needs to be interviewed and it's just really talking and talking without any exposition
The story is convoluted in a bigger plot which somewhat of sense but it really the grab me
The ending oh my god... sucks. I know they are trying to go for the full twist. But this is too twisty

The Ugly
Nothing much.

After Credits: No

Verdict: It's an okay movie if you don't have anything else to watch

Quarantine Day 25

Yesterday I didn't cook because I had to send my daughter to the hospital. So my youngest cook some fried rice and there was leftover chicken from yesterday

I brought my daughter for her appointment which means I need to travel more than 10km more that I supposed to. I had to print all the documents to show to the police if I got stopped by. So on the way we passed two roadblock. One of them stop me and the other just let us go. The hospital was so eerie since there was no one there. I think people are trying to avoid going to the hospital. Going home I took a different route due to the fact that the same road has another 3 roadblocks on it and am trying to avoid as many roadblocks. We arrived at the main roadblock that connected the main road to the highway. It was a 30 min wait and they ask their question. Everything went without a hitch... So that's my adventure for yesterday.

Today I am set for another adventure by sending some groceries to my mom in laws house. Lets see if luck is still on my side

Friday, April 10, 2020

Quarantine Day 24

Well today I cooked chicken rice. But I cooked very early due to the fact that I wanted to play Final Fantasy VII remake.

Today the prime minister announce that we have another 2 weeks for the Movement Control Order. So that means we are ending it on April 28th with another 2 weeks if it looks dire. So that.. that. Tomorrow I am going to the hospital for my daughter. I am quite worried (by the roadblocks). Hopefully things will go smoothly

Quarantine Day 23

Yesterday I cooked salted egg prawns with sambal eggs and vegetables. At night we add some coconut curry beef.

Well I don't have anything to talk about today but I do have something to talk about tomorrow which I am going to do next. Other than that, I am so thankful that I have a lot of apps to talk to my online friends. We do stay connected in this dire times

Thursday, April 9, 2020

Quarantine Day 22

Yesterday I cooked a one pot chicken rice meal. Nothing fancy and makes it easy to clean the kitchen

So today  (Day 23rd) is already Thursday. We thought yesterday was Tuesday and we are losing days due to staying at home. The cases are getting exponentially big and I don't see it stopping anytime soon. By the end of this month we are going to reach close to 3 million cases worldwide. I don't think we can flatten the world's curve anytime soon. This is going to be years before we all get better. My hope is that at least the country recovers.. before the whole world. Blogging everyday is getting harder and harder

Wednesday, April 8, 2020

Quarantine Day 21

Yesterday we had nasi lemak for lunch since the kitchen is clean. For dinner I cooked some noodles. It was yummy.

So it's official. Yesterday has been 3 weeks we stayed at home. Well I did manage to get out from time to time. But for my family, they haven't left the house for 3 weeks. The surprising thing is that my family seems to be okay with it. They do miss eating out and meeting their friends. But with technology they can connect with whoever they want. Cases is going to reach 1.5 million by tomorrow. The best case scenario as I said again is 40% infected with 2% dead. But to get that is going to take at least a year to get those numbers. This is so depressing

Paddington 2

I love this movie. It such a feel good movie

contentserver.com.au/assets/646098_paddington_2...

What is it about?
The contiation story about Paddington's adventure with the brown family

The good
Everything. This has a great storyline. A great villain.
It such a feel good movie even when everything seems dire you still can have wonderful moments
Lots of good food.
I just love this bear

The bad
Nothing. It just all perfect

The Ugly
Nothing

After Credits: Yes, a mid credit scene

Verdict: One of the best movies I watch this year. Awesome movie for all ages.

Quarantine Day 20

Yesterday I cooked something awesome. Its call beef "dendeng". It's made by frying the beef and then crushing it. The other thing I cooked was eggplant or aubergine in some places (I'm looking at you) in coconut curry. Both were yummy. Need to put in some pictures

In more serious news is that, The UK prime minister is in the ICU due to the virus. It's getting more and more serious now. I hope everyone takes this seriously. But I think we won't get it done by this year. Could you imagine if we actually lost 2% of the worlds population? That's is around 140 million people. That's scary... Well I'm done for today.

Monday, April 6, 2020

Quarantine Day 19

Yesterday I cooked fried rice for lunch and for dinner just gave the girls noodles and burgers. I usually tend to take a break during the weekend.

Saw in the news that the United States are blocking supplies from another country. They are undercutting the shipment by paying more. In my mind this is a dick move. I really hope they get their shit together. Judging from their numbers. We probably are going to see a million infected by months end.

Sunday, April 5, 2020

Quarantine Day 18

So yesterday we had leftovers for lunch and for dinner I cook quesadillas. They taste good and probably I make it again.

Day 18 (Today is day 19) and I think that I am already accepting my fate of staying in. I played a lot of games yesterday and today I will continue more of that. In other news a friends friends got the virus and he is a chain smoker and he doesn't want to get himself tested. Some people are just idiots.

Quarantine Day 17

Yesterday we had Mcdonalds for lunch. I really didn't feel like cooking. Getting the food was an adventure of its own. During dinner I made some porridge for me and the wife and the girls made roast chicken for themselves.

As cases still continues to rise. Its roughly around 50000 a day worldwide. I still have not seen the rainbow at the end of the road. The thing that I wanted to talk about today is that a lot of businesses are pressuring the government to reopen the country by April 14th. I think that is really a bad idea since that it going to be worse and then we all probably need to be quarantine longer.  I know everyone has a bottom line to give. But as my dad in law said. Your business can die.. but you can recover. But if you die.. you're done for good. So really, it does put things in perspective

I was thinking that in a boring dystopia. The whole world stays at home. People will deliver goods to us. Any goods. The only workers that can work are the essentials but other than that we are confined to our home for at least for years. That would just be scary. Is still too early to think about that. But as I said again and again. Things are so going to get worse... and the worse is still yet to come.

Black Mesa

Tried this game again. Still I couldn't get through it.

Genre: FPS
Platform: PC
Release Date: 2020
Factory Sealed Ep: 201

Black Mesa Screenshots for Windows - MobyGames

Gorgeous Black Mesa Fan Remake Of Half-Life Finally Hits Version ...

What is it about?
It's the original Half-Life remake with modern graphics, improve AI and features

What I liked?
The gameplay is fast and fluid.
Graphical improvements looks superb but there are some issues to that (I'll get to that below)
The game is design to be very seamless. There is no end.
The NPC's provide with a lot of backstory and help during the game
Everything is in engine which is very rare for a game

What I didn't liked?
This game doesn't have a waypoint. So you'll spend your time getting lost in the map
Due to the increase in graphics. The lighting means everything is so dark.
The game is just not fun. I can't seem to be enjoying myself. Ammo seems hard to find and I keep emptying the clip

Status: Played till chapter 12 and then I'm considered done

Fun Factor: This game is practically fun like during it's time. Right now it didn;t stand the test of time

Quarantine Day 16

Yesterday I cook fish head curry and ate a lot of leftovers for lunch. Yesterday it was a mundane day and it rained a lot in the evening.

So it's official. 2020 is official cancel. Everything is closed and everything is getting delayed. Which is a good thing because the total cases has now reach 1 million people and it doesn't seem to be stopping. I don't think we are going to end it in June. It is going to take a while. In order to get rid of the pandemic everyone should stay at home.

I'm getting tired and worried for the future. But really just try to make the most out of it.

What is it about?
A bear travel to London to find a new family

The good
This is a feel good movie with a lot of message in it
The comedic effect and writing is spot on
Nicole Kidman plays a great antagonist

The Bad
Nothing much. It's a great movie

The Ugly
London is not this clean. Everything looks so cheerful

After Credits: No

Verdict: One of the most enjoyable movie that I've watch. Can't wait for sequel. (Next on review)

Quarantine Day 15

Yesterday I cooked some butter chicken  (It turns out that in the states it is called buttermilk chicken... I did put some butter and milk in it. Who knew) and made some noodles for dinner.

15 days in. I think eventually things are going to be the norm for us. Not leaving the house seems to be second nature. It's a good thing for technology. We can stay in touch with everyone. In the world news is that a lot of people who broke curfew is already in jail. They don't understand how serious is the situation. Other than that my friends in the states are trying to cope handling this situation with an idiot president. I hope they pull through but it's so going to get worse before it gets better.

Is getting harder and harder to write since is almost the same thing over and over again. But every little blogs help

Quarantine Day 14

So yesterday I cooked sardines. A simple yet delicious meal for lunch with vegetable soup. At night I cook some sardine fried rice and my wife made some sardine rolls.

Things are getting grim. Everyone is experiencing some cabin fever right now. We probably going to stay indoor for the foreseeable future. I don't think this can continue since it will really hurt the economy but what choice do we have. Since I can see this pandemic killing a lot of people. Nothing much to report unless there is something substantial. Which it's not. Short post for today
