Star Trek Beyond

We are going on an adventure. And an adventure we have. The movie starts of  right in the heart of action. Stranded on a planet without a crew and a ship. Kirk and the team has to defy all odds and save the galaxy. The story keeps you on the edge but doesn't make you feel the stake are not that high. You know you are the main character when you don't die. Really... No one really dies. The did give a good shout out to Old Spock which is great. But in my personal opinion they really need to upgrade the weapons on the enterprise.

Day 282: An unexpected turn of events

Friday... 3 more days until we need to submit the tender... We have done 30% of it. We are waiting for the rest 70% of the items from the vendor and NK needs to consolidate all the documents. After thousand of trees I killed to print the documents... I found that our client manager RN have another tender due... And probably wants to drop out of this one...

Pros of dropping out

- No working this weekend 

- No working 24 hours this Monday

Cons of dropping out

- All that hard work was wasted 

- Can't get unrecorded leave later for working 24 hours

[UPDATE]: its Saturday and we have officially drop out of the tender. We will blacklist this vendor from any future endeavors... It was expected... Now what I am going to do with will these files

Day 281: we are finally moving on

The vendor has started giving their documents. Even though is not that much... It's a start.. Yesterday I did a lot of printing. A couple of documents were done. Which was good. Today I think I've already finished 30% of our companies part. So all that's left is printing the rest of the vendors item. What fun...

Day 280: Raya celebration

This year the office decided to go low key and make the company Raya celebration at the office. We combine with our sister company so probably will save the cost. I wore my purple festive shirt. It turns out a lot of people were wearing purple too. The food was good. Didn't took a picture since, the mood was not too raya-ish. It was not as grand as last year that's for sure. Everyone was there and treated more like a eatery. Where you come, you eat you leave. We did had our company meeting that evening. It was good. They say that we are meeting expectations and we will probably get bonuses like last year f we stick with it. My friend was sad since she probably got a mouthful with the boss due to Day 279 events. She was unmotivated to come to work. I did my best to cheer her up. But shit like this happens. We usually have to learn from it. The problem is people won't see it that way since when it involves money, there is always someone to blame.

Day 279: I feel pity for him

The only thing to report yesterday is that one of our client manager SM was so pissed of yesterday. The deal was he submitted a tender on Monday (last minute per say). This was the guy who snapped at me for burning the CD a bit slow (he did apologize after that so I was cool). It turns out that his tender has some holes that were not fill. Which cause our company to be disqualified. The sad part was that the client piratically handed him this project on a silver platter. All was left that he do the proposal without a hitch... After that, SM went out spurting f bombs here and there... Me and RN were busy finalizing the tender documents. I did help RN to give her an idea on how to celebrate her husband birthday. 

Day 278: There is still a lot of stuff to do

Monday blues as usual. Today in the weekly sales meeting, there was not too many people here. So the meeting went on very fast. I still have a lot of compiling to do and the other vendor is being coy about it. They are not giving us anything and this is really pissing me off. But what to do... I have to roll with it

Day 277: A reprieve

Yay... My tender submission was postponed another week. Meaning I can celebrate my daughters birthday this week and all the other stuff... Yesterday i work only for half a day. It was raining so heavily that we were stuck at the food court until 4pm. Had to brave the rain and got the whole suit wet. In other note... Was helping one of the client managers submit the proposal for tender. He was a bit stressed since its 1130 and he is still mad rushing it out there... He did snapped at me for going to burn two DVDs but I tak the high road and choose to ignore it. No point of dwindling in the past 

Day 276: Maybe there's some good news

Yesterday I heard that my tender is going to be extended. Which is great news for me since I do it in a calm manner. Yesterday another bunch of documents were done. Helped another colleague of mine finish her tender submission. The thing that always boggles my mind about my company is that if the tender is due at the 12th hour... we will probably be done at 11:45. I really don't like to do things last minute.

Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception Remastered

The critics are right...

Genre: Action 

Platform: PS4

First played: 2012

What's is it about:

Nathan Drake's last adventure on the PS3. He will risk it all.

Gameplay consist of:

- Climbing 

- Shooting 

- Puzzle solving 

What I liked: 

- Uncharted gameplay 

- This was a better port that the first one.

- A lot of core mechanics were improved.

- Plane sequence 

- Boat sequence

What I didn't Liked:

- They say UC3 did not live up to the expectation of UC2. I tend to agree in that point. The game has wired pacing. The shooting segments are a lot and erratic. It make you frustrated after fighting the same horde of enemies after the 20th time.

- The trippy sequence is great the first time but it gets played out after a while

- The game starts of very slow.

- Easy is like hard difficulty. I wonder how crushing will be like. 

Status: Beat the game until the end credits 

Score: Worth to be played at least once. Or revisited after 5 years. Just YouTube the gameplay

Day 275: Is that all I am good at

Well today is working on the tender day. We got folders so that's good. I can start punching the documents in. It makes me wonder am I the highest paid desk clerk. I don't do anything technical. I am just consolidating documents. Which mind you is no easy job... Oh well... No one reads this anyway

Day 274: There is a lot of things to do

Well today we had the internal meeting about the stuff we need to fill out. It turns out I am in charge of compiling the documents. That is not an easy feat. I am quite scared about what is going to happen. But I am rolling with the punches. The meeting room is damn cold...

In the evening we had a meeting with our silver partner. We are selling their products and they come to check up on us. Is hard to explain without telling the real story... Basically in a nutshell... You know when you do something wrong and your parents say to you "I am not angry, just disappointed"/ Is like that... It was damn funny to see the boss face becomes all tongue tied... Well lesson learn... I really don't know how we are going to sell their stuff.

Day 273: Monday blues but...

There is too much of work. The 428 page tender does not seem to be going anywhere which is quite worrying. I've done like 5% of the tender which is scary. I do know that next Monday I will be puling an all nighter on these. This time I will be come prepared. It's beginning to rain every evening which kind of sucks since I want to exercise.

Titan Attacks!

Asteroids for the 21st century

Genre: Shooter

Platform: PS Vita

What's is it about:

Titan's have invaded the earth. It's up to one tank to stop them.. Really just one tank???

Gameplay consist of:

- Shooting

- Weapon upgrades

- Boss Battles 

What I liked: 

- Shooting mechanic

- Upgrading is fun

- Shield needs to be refilled so you can survive the whole game 

- When you die it will save all you upgrades 

What I didn't Liked:

- After the 100 wave you can continue but when you die you have to start at wave 80.

Status: Beat the game until the final Titan 

Score: A rare gem. Worth to be played multiple times.

Day 271: Work has started

Even though the tender is not due for another 12 days. Works needs to start soon. So I am the long arm extension of my other colleague. NK. I just do the menial jobs and compiling since she needs to be in charge of writing the damn proposal. My friend is selling his whole entire Lego collection. I think I wan to follow suit since I think with TV, Games, Comics, I really don't have time for another hobby.  At night I got a text from my HR manager asking me weather I'll be coming to the office. In my mind is probably because of my leaving the office before everyone else... A lot of scenarios went in my mind...

[UPDATE] 9:18AM Friday... Texted my HR manager. Turns out she needs my help with something.... I was worried for no reason. Or Should I be not worried...

Day 270: Laid back yesterday

Yesterday I did not do anything work importance. Did some scanning of a big ass tender document that we need to submit by the 26th. Was reading through it and seeing what do I need to prepare. There is a lot of work. Better do it now. By now I mean today

Day 269: Back to work

I thought going back to work yesterday will be a drag since I had a good 6 days of rest. But it turns out I felt ok. The work has being coming in. So I was not that bored. We had a couple of meetings. There is a massive tender that just came in the pipeline where my boss ask me to handle parts of it. So it was all good... 3 more days till the weekend 

The Legend of Tarzan

Growing up watching the animated Tarzan movie I was expecting the same thing. Suffice to say this movie did not disappoint. It has everything you need, action, suspense and comedy. All the characters work great. Margot Robbie is beautiful. The only thing I think it was a let down is Tarzan doesn't speak to the animals like the Jungle Book. It's more grunting and shouting. So we don't really know what the animals are thinking about. The epic final battle was not so epic but the movie did what it supposed to which is entertained

I just finished watching the series finale And here are my view of the series 

Characters: A programmer Harold Finch design a machine to help sort the irrelevant numbers. Numbers that will have a small impact on lives. To help the people he needs a specialist... Enter

John Reese... A "dead" spec ops guy who is literally Batman with guns . Together they help stop/save people from bad things.

Aiding them are 

Jane Carter and Lionel Fusco. NYPD detective 

Later joining the team are 

Root and Shaw, Assets of the machine.

Plot: The weekly episodes are the number of the week. It's pretty straightforward. There is an overall arc that govern each season. 

Views: What makes this the best Scifi show is that the issues they are tackling are real. Since nothing is a secret anymore. With social media, anyone can hack our social lives and find stuff about us. Plus cities like New York and London that have close to 3000+ cameras makes sure anything we do is recorded. The series evolved into a morality game weather we humans should be govern by a all seeing eye... I for one  am against it but it's scary to see how far we are evolving to a species that is willing to share everything 

Episodes: 103 (75 hours+)

Season: 5

A must watch if you are a fan of action, drama and a lot of computer talk. 

Aqua Kitty Dx

That was a waste of $1.99

Genre: Shooter

Platform: PS Vita

What's is it about:

Milk supply is running low. But it is available in the earth's core. So a group of cats explorers have to drill in the earth's core. It's our job to protect them from the aliens. Oh yeah, it is in 8-bit

Gameplay consist of:

- Shooting

- Saving the miners

What I Liked: 

- The story is downright absurd.

- The shooting is fun

What I didn't Liked:

- The game gets repetitive after a couple of stages.

Status: Played 4 stages and then I was done. 

Score: You'll be bored after a couple of minutes. 

Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones

The first one is better

Genre: Action 

Platform: PS Vita

What's is it about:

Some clones needs to escape elaborate traps 

Gameplay consist of:

- Climbing 

- Puzzle Solving 

What I Liked: 

- The stages are quite fun

What I didn't Liked:

- Some puzzle will cause you to rge quits

Status: Rage quit until world 2. The puzzle are not hard but I keep dying at a certain place. 

Score: You''ll end up rage quitting

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Remastered

An epic game with a great story.

Genre: Action 

Platform: PS4

First played: 2011

What's is it about:

Gameplay consist of:

- Puzzle solving 

What I liked: 

- The story

- Uncharted gameplay

Day 268: 5 days public holiday

Tuesday is the last day of work since it's the eve before Raya. As a result the company is giving all Muslims half day off. To put icing on the cake (which I don't really like) they are giving another free holiday on Firday. Which means I don't need to apply for leave... Selamat Hari Raya to all...

Day 267: A helping hand goes a long way

Monday... The roads are clear.. Everyone is heading home for the holidays. Except me. I am still working. My long vacation will be in September but we will get into that later. Yesterday arrived at the office with nothing to do. I was waiting for an email from someone so I was helping other people to do work

Help 1:
My friend ZN is finished up her proposal that is due yesterday at 6pm. But due to some formatting error, I tried my best to help her. Thank Microsoft for paint and snipping tools. It tiik an hour to fix the problem but the problem was fixed nonetheless.

Help 2:
My friend NH from finance needed to find some back dated documents from 2015 and photocopy them (probably for auditing purposes). There were like 20 documents, so I decided to lend a hand in finding those documents. The files were triple the size of phone books ( does anyone remember phone books )  and was heavier than a newborn baby. That one took an hour also of my time but we managed to get it all done. I could imagine if he needs to do it alone.. it will take forever.

Help 3:
The last hours of crunch time for the proposal and the client manager who was working on the proposal SD needs me to burn a disc. I burn the first disc... he said he forgot to give me one document... In goes the disc to the shredder.... The funny thing is he does not understand the concept of CD-R.. (It's not like a USB). I burn the second disc... He forgets another item... In goes the disc to the shredder... Well third time is the charm and I am outta of the office by 350pm

Fun facts:
I shook hands with the group CEO. He asked me where I am going for raya... We talked for a little while on the lift... It's cool when you CEO calls you bro...

Day 266: We are 2 for 2

Yesterday was another awesome day. The problem we had was partly solve. But there are a lot of follow up that I need to do. Probably after Raya since everyone is in the Raya mood. That evening I spend time talking to friends and doing other stuff that is not work. I really have no mood to work on Friday. Now I am thinking weather to ask for leave on Friday?
