 A crazy shooter

A game where is bullet hell all the way. Even in very easy mode is hard. The game has a 2D art style with 3D polygons as bosses. Sometimes it can get a bit disorientating due to the perspective.  The saturn controls are weird where you have a different buttons for different. Overall this game is fun after multiple plays. I give this a C-rank .

Bullet Train

Very enjoyable 

What is it about?
A simple snatch and grab turns into a freaking shit show

It has action with comedy at the same time 
Lots of cameos from different popular actors 
The perspective for each character

A bit too long but not that bad

The Boys S3

I don't see how this will end well 

What happens next: The boys are trying to figure a way to kill Homelander but in the end they made more problems than solutions 

Is this show good: I don't know, the writing is good. The pacing is also good but the problem with this show is that for every problem they solve there are two more problems that comes in. Which means that this show is a slow burn 

Cliffhanger: No but a lot of threads that goes that needs to be solved in season 4

John Wick Chapter 4

Finally the end 

What is it about?
John sets up a race around the world to get his freedom and end the fight 

The Good
Awesome action scene. There was one that looks like it was taken out straight from a game.
Donnie Yen as a blind assassin

Everything is tied up and it has an end

The Bad
The ending is not that great

There are some scene that drag a bit too long

Some of the over the top action seems illogical

A new character that I don't see the point of having

They killed the beloved character 

The Ugly
Where are the police?
How does John Wick gets from one area to the next which is thousands of miles away?
Is everyone an assassin. Why do we need so much assassins?

They didn't show the high table.

After Credits: Yes but I didn't watch it 

Verdict: If you seen all 3 this is a satisfying conclusion to the series 

Black Phone

Things were much scarier in the 70s

What it is about?
A string of child kidnappings happen and the police can't figure out who done it 

The Good
This movie is simple and yet it delivers
The horror is not that horrifying. There are no jump scares but there are ghost 
The actors all deliver a good performances 

The Bad
If they only search the first house a bit longer

The Ugly 
Nothing much. It was a good movie 

After Credits: No 

Verdict: I like it. I say give it a watch. It more thriller than horror 

Rogue Agent

I thought this was a spy movie 

What is it about
The true story about a conman who successfully con woman out of their money and brainwash them thinking they are actually spies.

The Good
The story starts slow and then ramps up 
This shows everything until what happens till the end 

The Bad
No consequences really for the actual guy. He got out and then start conning people again 

The Ugly
This crime was possible due to the year being without facebook and the internet 

After Credits: No 

Verdict: It's okay. I guess

The Rookie S4

Nathan Fillion is the GOAT 

What this show rocks: I am a sucker for Nathan Fillion. Anything he touches turns to gold I guess. This show is no exception. The only difference is that its been 4 years and he is no longer the rookie 

Sucks: They killed of another character in the show. Which I think is due to budget cuts or something

Light hearted: 22 episodes and I can say more than half is more light hearted easy watching then the rest 

Ending: Didn't end in a cliffhanger but the promo for the next season sounds awesome 

The Resident S5

This show just get better

Episodes: 23

Medical shows: I am sucker for medical shows since you can see all the cool medical stuff. Plus nowadays the medical procedure seems super real 

Sucks: They killed one of the characters of the show and then proceed to time jump the show 3 years ahead

The human factor: All of the characters have great arcs. So yeah this show rules 

Must watch: Of course. But watch the first 4 seasons first 

Returnal

I told you I'll be back

So you can read part of my review here http://mystuffjournal.blogspot.com/2023/01/returnal.html so this is what I discovered after installing the PC version and also cheat engine and activated god mode. How does this game stack when you know you can't die. I say even awesome. Besides getting the ability to kick everyone ass during a fight. I finally get to see what this story is all about. I can also say I don't get what is this about. After reading the wikipedia entry I still don't get it. Oh well. The combat is still awesome and you get to upgrade all weapons which makes fighting the enemies easier. But I can say that the bosses are just vomiting a lot of bullets in the end which really sucks. I can see why the game is great because this game teaches you how to be super fast on your hands. I wish more games would come with a god mode because it makes the game more fun. Now this game is done I can give this game an A-Rank. It is going be one of my top 10 games of this year (Maybe).

Fighters Megamix

Sega own Smash Bros game

Sega created a lot of fighting games during this time. Virtua Fighter, Fighting Vipers and other loads of characters. They decided to put them all in one game and call it a complication of sorts. Fighting games of old has a problem that I realize.  The game is mostly a combination of rock paper scissors in which whoever hits the button first wins. This game is just that, a string of button mashes first and see which one lands to the opponent. The good thing about the game is that the roster is robust and there are a lot of characters to choose from. Even the car from Daytona. But due to the game being uneven some characters are a bit OP then the rest. Overall this game I give it a B-Rank.  

Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy

This is the longest time between games that I finally finish a game

When I first booted this game up I knew that I was knew I was in for a treat since my only knowledge of Guardians of the Galaxy (GotG) is only through the MCU. I can say that the only similarities are the characters of from the movies. Everything else is different in every way. We got Star-Lord who knew he was half alien since they address it when he was young. Gamora who apparently killed Thanos in this timeline and now is just a hired assassin. Drax who is actually like the movie counterpart. Rocket and Groot who are also the same but with some subtle differences here and there. 

I thought that this game would play like a Final Fantasy 7 Remake where you can switch between 5 characters in
combat but it turns out that you play the entire game as Star-Lord since you are the leader of the group. Star-Lord arsenal consist of his two elemental guns which has a standard fire with a reload cooldown. The guns doesn't provide that much damage but the special moves that he has is enough to provide with variety in combat. The difference of combat in this game is that you control the other Guardians via action prompt on screen. Each guardians are AI controlled but you can assign commands for extra and more powerful attacks such as Rocket's bombs or Gamora extra slice. Sprinkle with some puzzles, platforming, some mini games and story you got yourself an awesome adventure 

The story is an epic one. The reason why I stayed in the game is that I this story basically shows the beginnings of them starting to hate each other and by the end they become a family who loves each other and would sacrifice everything to save the other person. The story however is a long one with clocking at close to 18 hours is like watching a space opera unfold. Everyone has a chance to shine in this game even Groot even though he doesn't talk that much.

What I liked about this game is that the story is engaging and combat are fun to play. You really get the sense of being in a team when you are fighting together. There are also puzzle segments which is Guardian has a special unique skill where  you as Star-Lord need to
navigate and tell them what to do. It gets a bit confusing  at time but the voice prompts are there to help you. There are also flying segments where you control the Milano but that is not anything special. But this game really overstayed its welcome by being a bit too long and too repetitive in the combat sense. You end up going to one area to fight the same group of bad guys only to end up fighting the same group of bad guys in front as well. At the end I am like when will this end. 

In the end I preserved and watch the end credits and I can say that this is one of the best narrative games I've played in a long while. This is already a contender for game of the year for me but I know this game is not for everyone. I give an A-Rank due to the gameplay being repetitive despite an awesome story and combat mechanics

Minions The Rise of Gru

 I don't really get the minions 

What is it about?
A prequel to the despicable me movies I guess

The Good
Animation is nice to look at 
Minions are sometimes funny 

The Bad
I really don't get the minions. They never really explain what are they 
The bad guy narrative is being played too much 

The Ugly
Really this movie is nothing special.

Verdict: I didn't enjoy my time with it. I was okay 

Luck

Sometimes you don't need it 

What is it about?
A girl who has all the bad luck in the world finally found some good luck

The movie is funny on some part 
The overall message is good

There are too many changes in storyline which in the end make this movie too messy in my opinion

The Equalizer S2

A person of interest replacement 

What is it about?
Robyn McCall is the person you call when you can't call anyone else 

Cases: Some cases are unique while some are just downright expected

Sucks: Main cast member had to be fired from the show.

Ending: Cliffhanger 

Verdict: I love it. Great to watch when I am doing work 

SWAT S5

Best background show 

Episodes: 22

Plot in nutshell: Something happen (theme music) First act, Second Act, Action finale, Heartfelt or cliffhanger moment

What makes this show great: Is not the action but the characters. Everyone has a chance to shine.

Sucks: One of the cast is leaving the show but after they wrap up their storyline 

Verdict: S6 is ongoing so watch it I guess

Lightyear

In the end, time always runs out 

What is it about?
After being stranded on a planet. Buzz lightyear (not the toy) sets out to save everyone 

The Good
The premise of the story is good. Really interesting 
The cat character is so funny

It makes you wonder that time is fleeting and enjoy every moment you have

The Bad

Ending was predictable 
The side characters are not that compelling 

The Ugly
Nothing much. It was great

Verdict: It is an ok movie. Nothing special

Stargirl S3

It's been a while since I posted 

What is it about?
Season 3 follows the big mystery of a murder and the coming of the original owner of the staff Starman 

Plot twist: yep... you have to wait for it but it's there

Sadly: This is the last season. They did manage to close of all threads so that's something

Fights: Not that much but when it is there it was awesome 

Jurassic World Dominion

They should stop making this movies 

What is it about?
Years after the events of the second movie we see dinosaurs are everywhere

The Good
If you like dinosaurs. They are practically everywhere.
The reunion of the OG Jurassic park team 

The Bad
This movie is too damn long.
Too much backstory that doesn't need to be told 
Ending is abrupt

The Ugly
Everything just magically happen. That just luck

Verdict: Can be skipped 

Star Trek Lower Decks Season 3

Love this show

What is it about?
Another adventure about the crew that keeps the ships running 

Lots of threads: 10 episodes and everything gets resolve in the end

Best episode: The one with peanut hamper. That was funny 

After Credits: Yup. I don't remember who that is
