Day 51: Long weekend

Before I go to sleep (it's now 1am). I just want to tell about my day. Arrived at the office. Didn't start work until 230pm. Was very lazy doing other un work related stuff . Send my monthly claim form and I'm done for the day. Won't be coming to work until next week Wednesday. Not sure if i want to post my training or not since it's not considered work. We'll see. Now it's time to sleep.

Day 50: No one is a gentleman nowadays

Today (well yesterday) we got 80 packets of porridge from our main hq to distribute to the staff. Kinda of like saying thanks to the team. No one was available to help so my HR manager and I were the only ones dragging the food to the office. Since the food was piping hot. I had to hold it with my bare hands. Man that's hot. Got to pack and distribute all 80 packs. Felt good

Day 49: Today is not a good day

Today is a stressful day. And before I sleep let me tell you what happen. First I got a call from my boss to meet at a mall for a meeting. It turns out it was a lunch meeting. I was fasting so I just watch 5 people munch food. Went home paid the parking ticket but I forgot to take it. Someone stole it and I had to pay the penalty. Not too worried about that since everything can be claimed. Went back to the office there was no parking so I had to double parked. I am so tired... And yet I got a joy of booting up Arkham Knight and it was awesome...

Day 48: Time does fly when you are doing work

As it says... Yesterday was a busy day but not too busy... Just the right amount which is good. Plus the boss wasn't at the office which was a big plus. Spend an hour during lunch sleeping on the chair while my feet was up... That's the life...

Day 47:Now I know what am I supposed to do

Ahh... Monday (well yesterday was it). Starts the day of with a group meeting. After that I went and get my new computer. That took 3 hours of my time. In the end I only work for roughly 4 hours. My boss call me in and gave am a 100 page 'Ninja Report'. Ask me to digest it. The problem is, the report is not in English... Sigh... But anyway, he told me what is my KPI is all about. Gave a  task of goals that I need to achieved. Seems doable and possible since I have less than 6 months to do it... The question in my mind is that , he gave me task to do until the end of the year and my probation finishes this October. Does that mean I am already confirmed to work in this company... Food for thought.

Day 46: Key performance index... Say what???

It turns out today was the day each employee needs to put in their kpi. Basically is a goal what they need should do for this year. They need to meet it if not is the boot for you. My boss told me to just follow what he ask to do and I would be fine. Hey works for me for now... But scary if I don't meet the target of my work

Day 45: 50 yes doesn't make it a no

Well I am finally inducted into my company. Which is awesome. Our head of marketing gave our last course. After that there was a quiz and we won prizes. I keep asking the same question which is "can I get another company shirt". She keeps saying no. But today she gave me one more. Which is super awesome. In the evening, me with another colleague went dow. To learn about some tech stuff. Which I find fascinating. I probably know what I am going to do tomorrow

Day 44: I really got to plan my days

Today has a meeting and after lunch I was free. Really need to plan my free time. Since I get bored since I don't have anything to meaningful to do. Not complaining since I haven't feel that I know 100% what I am suppose to do. Wonder what I will do tomorrow

Genre: Racing 

Platform: Genesis

Overview: This game is ridiculously hard. I think without save states I am not sure I could have won this game. The appeal comes from memorizing the track layout. Once you got that settle it is easy to win. 

What I liked: Tracks are very creative, some cars

What I didn't liked: Bigfoot stages, constant falling down.

Status: Finish the single player mode. That's about it.

Day 43: Today I had a test

So today is just like any other day. Woke up to a meeting at 1030. That was fun. It was short and concise. Came back for lunch got rag on the gang for wearing formal clothes to work. I like wearing formal to work but the slacks sometimes are too lose. In the evening, I got an test about management processes about the office. 80 questions in 1 hour with a passing rate of 60%. I got 69/80 which is good in my book. 

Day 42: Sucks to be left behind

Today is like any other day. The updates were the main pantry is under construction so that means no more breakfast for the time being. Which doesn't bother me anyway. Other than that, everyone who was involve in a big project got a enjoy a swanky lobster lunch. Everyone except me since I was in the same team but I didn't contribute anything to the project. Sucks but it was already known that was going to happen. My boss didn't go as well since he said it was a ware of time (3 hours). Had lunch with him. In the evening hang out with the sales people. Hanging out with them is always a hoot. 

Day 41: It's hard being busy

Today day is like any normal day. Had breakfast with my friends. Finish a couple of tasks and then I hit a brick wall. I had nothing to do. Or more like I don't know what to do at that time. So I acted busy by doing the same task but very slowly. The highlight of the day is going out for lunch with the CEO driver in the CEO car. So that's what a boss felt like... Just without the cramping of other people  at the back seat. Today also mark a sad day since my good friend from work is leaving for greener opportunities somewhere else. I wish him all the best and I know I made a friend for life... Weekend is upon us.. YAY

Day 40: Funny funny day

Came back home yesterday and after dinner I was out of it from 830 till 6 the next morning. Needed the sleep anyway. So what happen yesterday. I was supposed to go to a meeting at 10 but the venue was not given to me by mail. By the time I text my boss it turns out the venue is not at the office. Good thing my boss was understanding and just say it was ok. In the evening I had another meeting. (Now if I have any comments here I know people have been reading my blog, which is illogical since I only told 1 person). The person I dealt with in email was an old lady. But then she introduced me to her sales representative which turns out to be a young and beautiful girl. That's not the kicker... The kicker is that the girl was talking techie with me. In my opinion they probably need young and attractive girls to close the deals. The funny part in going to say it when I tried to ask the girl a question about the product the old woman keeps on answering. After a couple of tries I notice that I am not getting any lead on the girl. I just took my stuff and bid farewell. Overall good day yesterday

Day 39: When personal issues get in the way of doing your job

Today day was uneventful. Besides getting a massive tummy ache. Nothing much to report. Tomorrow I'm going out for meetings that would be good. Now the issue I have is that stuff at home is too intense and it's making me lose focus. Have to keep calm and carry on. Take it one breathe at a time 

San Andreas

GTA this is ain't. I love disaster movies but the movie is a hit and a miss. I love the disaster parts of the movie. I'm not that sold on the character development. They stop the pacing of the movie which we came to see. More earthquakes. Everybody was great in this movie. The effects are a mixed bag. Probably was outsourced to a couple different companies. They characters just can't catch a break. Shit keeps happening to them over and over again. It became funny in the end

Day 38: Got assigned a few things

Today got a assigned a couple projects. I have really no clue what to do but at least I can ask my boss. Hopefully he will answer it. Since I'm really in the dark here . Other than that I really got to stop eating spicy. I'm feeling the effects right now.😱

Day 37: Starting to giving up on posting?

This is probably due to the fact today I didn't did anything exciting. It was business as usual. I dldid however have to sub my friend in a meeting. So that was cool. And cold at the same time. Brrr. Not that many people in the office today. Hopefully I have something to write about tomorrow

  

 

 

Spy

This is how to make a good action comedy. This movie is so funny and cleverly written. The star of show is of course Jason Statham. He has only a few scene but each scene he is in its perfectly executed. McCarthy is of course  a funny girl as well. This movie does aware a lot and the action is realistically enough that it doesn't seem implausible. The only thing in the movie that I didn't quite enjoy was Maranda Hart, she was funny but scene with her just brought down the movie a bit. But good thing that she doesn't have a solo moment. Overall good movie if you want to relief stress

Day 36: Another week another set of challenges completed

This Friday is an uneventful day. Went for a meeting. Had to do a proposal. Basically another day at the office. The weekend is upon me. Next week another set of crazy rules that I have to complete. Oh and next week I'll be flying solo. This will be interesting 

Day 35: I'm now inducted

I'm now inducted in my company (well almost). After attending a two day course about the company I feel that they finally accepted me in their tribe. Process wise that is. I'm still tired from yesterday so now I want to sleep.

Dah 34: This is unexpected

I was about to write about my day today but another urgent matter came along (like right this minute) so I'll be live blogging it as well. 

First off my day today

Had a company induction. After 34 days finally they had one for me and a couple more new joiners. They only do it 4 times a month so it's good to catch up now.

Well there is a saying that there is no such thing as a free lunch but today I had one and it was awesome. And to top it off, I had coffee with the ceo discussing business matters ( I didn't drink since I hate coffee). 

That's all what happen to me today that is worth nothing

I usually don't put in personal details about my life only when it's necessary but I think it's a good time to record the events today

9:00

Got a call saying that my brother is in a hospital and is unresponsive.

10:45

Got back home, took a shower and we got another call saying that my sisters best friend is involve in a major accident.

11:30

Finally found the accident site and it was bad... Really bad. An ambulance came and what not. And we still haven't reach the hospital where my brother is. 

12:20AM

Arrived at the government hospital. My bro was resting. We are contemplating of bringing him to a private facility

We made the call to send him to a private  hospital. Now have to wait for paperwork

(Ok this is post today since I forgot all about it)

Arrived at the private hospital. And the process of waiting for the insurance to kick in began

Did an Cat Scan and found out he has a hairline crack in the middle of his skull. They can still explain why he fainted at the first place

Finally got him admitted to a ward. By the time we got home is was already 5:00

Man this game is awesome

Game: nidhogg 

Genre: Fighting 

Platform: PS Vita

Overview: I went in this game without knowing what to expect. This game reminds me a lot of karateka. But a fast paced version of it. The combat is simple enough. It's fencing to the max. 

What I liked: Combat, respawning, the feeling of impaling someone

What I didn't liked: stages are repetitive, the game is very short

Status: finished the game in less than 20 mins. It's better to play with a friend

Day 33: 3 short stories

3 things happen today and I don't know what title should I put. So these are small titles that should describe how my day is

My COO is awesome

I came way too early for work and I notice I was the only one there. Came down for breakfast. Who else was there than my COO eating alone. So I decided to join him. We end up taking and the stories he told were exactly what I aspire to be when I am his age. Granted he looks way knowledgeable than me but hopefully I will get there.

Lunch with my best friends

I had lunch with the intern today. I'm kinda of sad that he is leaving soon but he is going to a better place. I am going to miss our breakfast sessions. Anyway, went for lunch and him and my HR manager. And for once we acted like proper humans. Not bitching about people (well no names were mention). Which makes me wonder is there life after work... Yeah I do believe so

First time chair a meeting

This is going as an achievement. I was asked to chair a meeting with a client. Eventhough is not my job scope, I did it to help a friend out. Since both of us were less than 2 months here. I think I handled it quite well. Professional to a certain extent. Will I do it again. Probably not but will see

Day 32: My CEO is awesome

Had a meeting with the big wigs for an important meeting (I sometimes don't know why I come to the meeting when I don't provide any input). Anywoo, my ceo is an awesome fellow. He cracking up jokes while we are trying to close the deal. He says that he will make it on the fly... Which is so awesome. Besides that my boss is on emergency leave today so business as usual.
