- Platforming can't be frustrating at times 

- Chapter 18 is overkill...

Day 171: The day turn to shit in the end

The day was as normal. Went for meetings, lunch. Nothing out of the ordinary. But at 630 yesterday my boss call me. I forgot to put a page in a tender proposal soft copy. I feel down yesterday. Text my boss. But he didn't reply. So let's see what happens this Tuesday. If there is nothing. Means is business as normal. Sucks

Yesterday was my performance review.

Since in April my KPI does not reflect what I am doing right now. Mostly my boss ask me to just fill that I achieved my base target

Day 169: Brains...

After 3-4 hours of sleep yesterday, I am back to the office. The team are busy doing the final touches to the tender. I was in charge of bringing the tender to the location. It was due at 12. But we left at 11:40. The offices was quite near. But the whole tender package was close to 8kg. So we decided to took the car. Arrived there, a couple of confusion on where to send it. We finally manage to send it. My brain was shot. I'm so sleepy. Some of the team went back home to sleep. My boss said today is my performance evaluation. Hopefully I'll do good 

Day 168: Its 130am and I'm still in the office

I was here from 3pm until now. Apparently is crunch time for the tender. Well it's 95% done. There is just one thing left and I am waiting for it. Probably going home around 3-4. I have to be back in the office by 10-1030 tomorrow. Man I'm asking my boss for an early leave tomorrow. I need to go to sleep.

Day 167: Sunday... Bloody Sunday

Man... I'm working on a Sunday. It sucks. But since 730am I was there I manage to finish a lot of items. There are not much things left for me to finish. Mostly formatting. Went home at 10:39 since I had nothing else to do. Waiting for others to finish their stuff. Another day tomorrow... 

Day 166: Forgot to post

I'm 2 days late to post. So what did I do on Friday. Print most of the items in the morning. Went for Lunch. In the evening left early since outside was raining heavily. This week is a long weekend. But I have to work since we are chasing a project... Sigh

Finally a Hitman game that I can into

Game consist of:

What's good: 

- stages are awesome. Each of them represent a board game. And the pices move like chess.

- the art design is 70's retro

- bad guys are different and brings a lot of variety 

What's bad: 

- it's over to quick 

Status: Beaten the game with 168 tokens

Day 165: Today not so crunchy

Today I spend the whole morning printing and compiling documents. After that during lunch I was treated by a friend who got an extra cash boost. Good for him. In the evening was meetings to clear out, what needs to be done. Looks like tomorrow will be another day of printing documents.

Day 164: Crunch time has started

This morning I had a conference call with someone from Canada. It took us 30 minutes to set up the call. We had a device an octopus phone that doesn't look like an octopus but more like a starfish. During the con call. My colleague  made a lot of silly hello jokes. After lunch it was crunch time for the report. I think I have to work during the holidays. I'm trying to convince my boss for unrecorded leave

Story:

If you watch Jessica Jones on Netflix,  this book represent what this series is all about. The books are devided into smaller cases. The cases are interesting enough to get you hook but without using to much super powers. Even though Jessica Jones is a superheroes, this book reads more like a mystery novel. She befriended ant-man and they went on a date. The last 10 issues deals with the origin story and the menacing killgrave. 

Overview

The comic in my opinion is not beautifully drawn. But it's not ugly. It's just ok. The stories are very explicit and even the art. So it's not recommended for public viewing. The stories deal more on ptsd, and rape which are serious issues. Great overall arc. There is a sequel called pulse which I haven't got a chance to sink in yet. 

Day 163: I feel that I've worked only 2 hours

Today we start of the day we the weekly sales meeting. After that it was another internal team meeting. Followed by lunch. I came to my desk close at 3. Made some calls answered some emails. It was pouring outside and now I'm back home. Time flies... Tomorrow I'm on leave... Doing errands for the family... It's the calm before the storm

A fluffier version of Super Meat Boy

What is it about:

A fluffy ball lost his gold and is going on a quest to find it

Game consist of:

- platforming

- physics manipulation 

- puzzle solving 

What's good:

- Level design is nice. Some of the stages are a bit confusing to understand 

- The story complete with VoiceOver work

- a very high graphic game 

- checkpoint right after you die 

What's bad:

- the stages are brutal

- to get all the stars you need to not die and complete the stages within 3-4 mins. 

- the constant dying ( what made me want to complete it is the story)

Status: Played the whole 20 stages, finished the story

Score: A great way to waste your time

Wagyu Beef + Sides

New type of post. I'm going to start blogging about food. The weird ones only. So today the missus and I went to Las Vacas. Not to be confused with Vegas. This place is a butchery that serve premium meat. We ordered a wagyu ribeye steak 7 250g. 

Wagyu steak is undoubtedly very tasty. The texture is good. The garlic bread and salad are just mediocre 

What's not that good

- the price. They don't tell you the price of the whole package. The raw steak is different. On top of that the charge and extra. So that's just false advertising 

Verdict: Good food. Bad price

There are better steak joins than this. 

Day 162: Finally the weekend

Yesterday I was alone. Most of my friends were off on leave. Good thing there was one other guy who is there. We went for lunch together. He then spill the company secrets on how the company has favoritism and how some people are better notice than others. I do notice that every company needs someone to blame in their department. I do believe I am the guy for my department. Probably because I am new l. But I usually cover my basis. After lunch, I left since I don't think my work will be different If I do it from home. And today is the weekend. Yay

Day 161: Today is a bad day

Got to work, got hassled by office mates. I know they all just do it for good fun... So I really don't care that much. Sometimes I wonder is it my responsibility to get the final tender done? I would say its a team effort since everyone needs to pitch in. After that from 3pm til 630pm I went inside a meeting to finalize the points to make for another tender that is due in next 2 weeks. This one looks bleak since there is one key component that is not met and it is a big chunk of the report. And we only have less than 10 days to compile the massive document. I know on Friday next week I'll be doing an all nighter at the office . Man Im so tired and wish I didn't have to go to work tomorrow. But I hate to waste my holiday and I am not sick enough to warrant leave. I do know I am solo tomorrow since all my friends are on leave... Yay...

Day 160: Work went smoothly today

Everything went ok today. All my checklist was met. I send my stuff before I head home at 5pm. Besides that I found out my peer evaluation from my colleagues. Out of 10 im in the middle. So I am average. Which is good since I'm not that bad and not that good. Try again next year

My kid got bullied

My kid is in a new school. She loved the old school. But she is being brave for us in the new school. Since the new school has redneck kids who doesn't understand the value of being nice. They keep teasing her to the point that she cried for hours. I wish I could ground pound the kids. There are 3 people to blame in this situation. 

1) The parents - for not instiling good values to their kids

2) The teachers - for taking this as 'kids will be kids attitude' and not solving the root cause 

3) The kids - well you can't blame the kids. They are just kids... Man beating kids is not recommended but I really wish I could do that 

Met the principle this morning. Principle said she will look into it. I'm not holding my breath. My wife said that she cried again this evening. If tomorrow she cries again the gloves are coming off. 

Day 159: There is a lot of work (yesterday)

This was yesterday post. I was super busy that I forgot to save my draft. Basically yesterday was crunch time on the stuff I need to do. There are a lot of items on my checklist. After 7pm I went home since I was too tired to work. But I continue doing work since I knew that today was going to be a killer work day. My boss got a new laptop. I'm asking him to give it to me. I have to remind myself to write an email about that.

What is it about:

A traveler trying to save his village by solving puzzles 

Game consist of:

- Perspective bending puzzles 

What's good:

- puzzles are challenging depending on the perspective 

- different type of puzzles themes.

What's bad:

- it's over too soon. 

- some puzzles are dead easy once you got the hang of it

Status: Beat the game until chapter 10. After that the ask to play 8 more levels for 1.99... Probably not

Day 158: Great day for lunch

Today work was as usual. But the only thing that was different is that I had lunch with my best friend and his wife and kid at a buffet sushi restaurant. It was good but I didn't eat to much since I have to go work again... Tomorrow it is going to be a busy day since there is a tender due.

Day 157: I can see the future... And it looks busy

We start Friday with a meeting of an upcoming project. There are a lot of things that we need to do and we don't have much time to do it. After that lunch time. During Friday prayers my friend fall and trip. That was shocking. Today I feel that I'm part of the team even though I don't play a big role in the team. My boss seem to be dependent on me from time to time which is good. I brought my office laptop just incase I feel like doing work. But most probably I'll play Ninja Gaiden instead

What is it about

- Phinieus Fogg and his trusty valet Passportou have to travel the world in 80 days to win £20000.

Gaming consists of

- Reading

- Buying and selling

- Solving murders, fighting bad guys (all text based)

- Budgeting 

- Finding the best route around the world

What's good:

- The storyline is long and interesting 

- Buying stuff from one country that is cheap and selling it for 2000% profit

- Travelling by steam car, train, airship, rocket, horse (don't travel using horses), ferry, boat, a ship with legs 

What's bad:

- Mr Fogg needs to be taken care like 24/7. Travelling to harsh condition will cause his health to deteriorate

- The reading. It's long winded with branching paths. Getting the right paths will get you bonuses, the wrong will just lose more money

- Borrowing from the bank and sleeping at the hotel will lose 1 day

- Long distance Travelling... Anything can happen ( Mr Fogg died once )

1st time: Still alive but past the 80 day mark. Lost the game. Shame!!

Day 156: My other boss is funny

Today another day of meetings. In the evening there was an internal meeting for the current project that we are working on. My other boss, the female one. She likes to send pranks to our whatapp group. She sent a ghost jump scare prank. The CEO got jumped scared and she was laughing maniacally... At least I know that my office mates have a sense of humor. Tomorrow another day of meetings 

Day 155: The work just got real

So there are a lot of things that need to be done and there is not much time in doing it. Lots of meetings today until I didn't had a chance to eat. All good since I'm trying to cut back on eating anyway. Not that much cash to spend

Day 154: That was an interesting breifing

Today we had our first company briefing. The usual stuff came about. Cake, new people and then when it come to the KPI. The announce that everyone will be getting bonus, depending on how good is their performance is that year. After that they announce that, 8 individuals are over performance and will receive something special from the company. The something special turns out to be a whopping 5000 dollars. That's just crazy. The funny thing is that, The COO and CEO were the ones who choose who perform in the company. I get that the COO choose people who he sees goes in and out of the office (kudos to one of my friends, he was lucky enough to get it). But the CEO picked all the sales people. I could see my teammate face change, ,since I figure that my team (excluding me of course) works our asses off everyday for the company. As another of my friend said... we won't get the recognition since we are the support stuff. In the end , the people who brought in the business matters. I'm kind of bummed that my boss didn't get it, since he works more than me and my teammate combined. But that's also why they pay him the big bucks... Oh well. We did get cake and a nice turkey new year lunch after that. Its all good. I hope I am not the under achiever that they keep mentioning. As long, I do the work that is given, hopefully I should be fine.

Day 153: 2016 has officially started

I'm back to work for the new year. Took half day morning to see my kids off school. But now I'm back. Got a big project coming ahead. Everyone is having their game face on. Good times... Hopefully this year I get to do my job well.

The Kids grow up so fast

Today my kids are going to a new school. The old one was bummed but put on a brave face since its a new school. The young one was happy that finally she can leave the house. Both of them don't want the parents to wait for them. Good for me since I'm working later 

Scratch that off my bucket list

Today I had the opportunity to met a very great man. I was even given the opportunity to shake the man hand and take a picture with him. The man was Tun Mahatir Mohamad. The 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia. Special shout out to my high school classmate who invited me to her beautiful smart home. That home has motion sensors, cameras everywhere and a lift that runs on magnets. 

I managed to talk to Tun bodyguard while Tun was going back in his Jaguar XKR

* it always takes he and his wife an 1 to reach the car from a public place. So they need to move early to get to where they need to be

* the bodyguard, driver the whole entourage went to see the force awakens
