Day 141: 15 days left

The office felt a bit barren today. Not that many people were in. Probably took a long leave of absence. Work was as usual. I'm waiting for another 15 days for my long awaited leave. The rain was very bad. Even by escaping the office early I was still stuck in the jam 

Batman Gotham City Racer

Ok I got a new review scoring system... Rather than 1 - 5  which is hard to quantify I got a new rating system I am using. Let's implement it on a couple of games

The good:
- Got exclusive cut scenes from the animated series
errr that abou it
The bad
- Everything else
- Time on gameplay
- The car handles like jelly
- The open world is not to open. The ambition was there but I think they bite of more than they could chew

Status: 5 Mins of gameplay and after dying multiple times.. I give up

Score: Delete this game and never speak of it again

Warpath Jurassic Park

The concept is there but the execution not so much

Genre: Fighting
Platform: PS1
What's good
- Dinosaurs fighting each other
- Moving elements in the stage (Why does a human will run in the middle of the stage while 2 dinosaurs are fighting each other??)
What's bad
- The combo are unresponsive.
- You can actually defeat a dinosaur by pressing one button
- The Raptor and the T-rex are almost the same size...
- Some of these dinosaurs are way overpowered
Status: Played it for 10 mins. Saw the novelty and there way it ends.

Day 140: Sales Meeting

Usually I blog at the end of the day but a lot of things are going to happen today and I don't want to miss a thing 

I left home at 645 since I'm scared to arrive late. When I came here I was greeted by the friendly hotel staff. This meeting room looks like a penthouse suite.

Had breakfast (pastries) and earl grey. Now waiting for the rest of the troops

Meeting adjourned for morning break.

Steamed prawn popia (had to wait but the taste is good)

Apam with coconut chutney ( the chutney is awesome)

Banana smoothie (is like a banana split in a cup)

It's 521. Live blogging was halted a while since I was busy preparing for presentation 

After that is lunch time. To go for lunch we need to take an express lift to the sky deck and then go up 38th floors. Here is the view from above

This sashimi salad is cold and the fish taste fresh. The seaweed adds a certain taste to it

First time I ate tuna tartar. The laymans terms is tuna chopped and served raw

Chicken spring roll nothing new

Mushroom soup that goes well with bread. There is bread but I forgot to take the picture 

Sweet and sour fish. It taste like sweet and sour fish 

Roast chicken with mushroom and hickory sauce. This is yummy

Asparagus with nuts. The asparagus are huge 

Fried rice nuff said

And for dessert is pie with homemade ice cream. Not cold though 

After that I got nervous for my presentation. So I didn't eat evening tea but here are the highlights

My teams presentation went long. Like 1hr 40mins too long. My presentation went well without any hitch. People doesn't seem to interested. Or maybe they are just too tired. 

After the presentation there is one more activity. Karaoke + buffet. The buffet was good. There are a lot of variety. They also offer free booze to the non Muslims people. My observation is drunk people are hilariously funny. I did sing or more like butchered a couple of songs with my sales boss. That was fun. The weekend is upon me. Time to rest

Day 139: The boss is back in town

Yay, finally the team is back. We had a meeting on what we need to prepare for tomorrow's meeting. Basically it was a meeting within a meeting. After doing some revisions and stuff I think we have s solid presentation lineup. The meeting started from 11 and all the way till 2.30pm. We had lunch at the bosses office. Ordered dominoes pizza... The pizza had a good beginning but a very not so good after taste... Oh well... free food, so I'm not complaining. You know what else I am not complaining? Tomorrow's whole day of free food and meetings. I think I should pack in a jacket. It is bound to get cold.

Day 138: Work from home

Today work was as usual but I got a family emergency. So i packed my laptop and continue work from the hospital. At least I get some work done before the day is over. Tomorrow my boss will be back. It's a good thing... Yay

Day 137: Free food

Today was business as usual. But for lunch they had a nice luncheon to celebrate deepavali. So everybody got free food. So the update on homework is one part is almost done, there is another part still ongoing. Probably will take another 1-2 hours to complete tomorrow.  Another great thing is that I got a free pass to go an watch The Force Awakens with the sales team. It's kinda of to celebrate the clients. Well free ticket for me 

Day 136: Got Homework

There is a big sales meeting coming this Friday and my team has different tast to prepare before the boss  comes back on holiday. I need to do a sales strategy on how to sell a particular product. The problem is I really don't believe on the particular product since it's doesn't serve the local market. Hopefully today I can churn out the slides and have a friend look at it

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

A fitting end for the series. A couple of issues with this movie. There is only one big action set piece and that involves lickers from resident evil 2. Most of the action gets cut short or considered over when Katniss is done with her speech. This movie deal with ptsd and deep issues like freedom of speech and a democratic government. Plus kids were bomb in this movie which was quite daring for a kids movie (the trailers before the movie was all cartoons) The parts where they are talking about their feelings and such is a long drag. It could cut here and there. They didn't explain how peeta was ok after being brainwash. They did give a good chunk of story of the epilogue which is good.

Day 135: Great Friday to end the week

Today is a very productive Friday for me. Finish a task that was due and today I went for a bro date with a friend. Got an umbrella half way to the lunch area. So that was great. Left early cause the president is in town. I kid you not... Next week different shit different day

Day 134: Team Dynamic

I was so tired yesterday that I forgot to post. Today just come back from post team building session. Basically it's just a way to gauge where do you stand in the company. There are 4 categories which are DISC. I fall under the category of I for Influence... I notice everyone in the bracket of I are all carefree and loud people. Which is awesome...

Highlights of the day since it was a day course 

- rendition of summer loving from grease. That was hilarious. Our team won since we were the only one singing. But the actual winner is a colleague who invented the vertical pelvic thrust move. It was so good that he had to do it 3 times 

- had to draw what we think how do we fit in the company. Mine was not bad at all... I'm so laid back

- everybody was taking about if they have any issues with any departments. I can't find any faults with it since I'm just 7 months in and I like everyone. Not sure if they like me.

- a aerobics session in the middle where everyone even the upper management grove to the beat

Lowlights of the day

- it was so long. We finished at 930pm

- food was ok but not great. Just enough for us to not starve 

Great team dynamic session. Probably would do it again if given the opportunity. I do pith the upper management and HR since they have to do this for 3 days.

Day 133: A couple things happened

Well today I left for the office late. When I got there I realized I took the wrong laptop. So I had to head back to change the laptop. Got to the office and straight for lunch.

During lunch I found out why there is one person so cynical about work. The short form is since the company is controlled by the illuminati only certain members will get the privilege of joining team rocket in the league of assassins. So I'm basically screwed on that part. But I love my job so I have no complains 

And finally at 3Pm my boss said his farewell. He is going on an international holiday for a week. So we have the keys to the department. Woot... So going home earlier than usual

Day 132: Awesome Monday

I was almost late for work. Waze told me that I'll arrived at the office at 1015am. I proved it wrong. Came to work at 950. Just in time for the weekly meeting. Boss had to left after the meeting for more meetings so I was solo. Went for lunch and it poured heavily. By the time I left I was covered in rain. Did a couple of stuff and left at my usual time. Tomorrow I am on leave... Yay

- Best voice acting for a 15 year old game

Well I can't be judging the bad with today's current tech since it won't be fair 

- Some bosses are tough as nails

- Camera needs work

- Symbiotes 

Hardware limitation makes

- Swinging limited

- Tank controls 

- 3 press attacks 

- No free view 

Status: Finish the game and use cheats to unlock the rest of the outfits.

Spy Hunter

Man... I remember this game to be easier

This is a good game. 

Genre: Action

Platform: PS2

The good

- the Interceptor is the coolest car in video game. It's a car, boat, bike and hovercraft 

- the stages and fast paced and short (around 7 minutes)

- weapons systems

- you get to drive the 2.0 version late in the game

The bad

- the objectives reset everytime you load a stage

- weapons can be carried over the past stages 

- some of the bad guys are damn cheap

- the later stages are hard 

Status: Finished until mission 09/14. Then they ask to get an extra 4 objectives that looks impossible to get. I think that's how they extend the replay value since this game can be beaten in 3 hours (if you are really good)

Day 131: Today is an epic day

First off the title should be I got confirmed ... Finally but since there are lot of other stuff that happen today so the title needs to be different...

Firstly... I finally signed my confirmation papers. So I'm a permanent staff member. Well there things that I need to do but I don't see it's difficult. It's like learning a new subject 

Secondly... Everybody seems to be worried about me not coming to work yesterday (I was on leave). Lots of how are you. Hope everything is ok... Makes me feel appreciated 

Thirdly... The boss organized an internal meeting today but since I need to leave early my boss is keen on me doing the meeting with him first before the rest of the guys join in... My boss is awesome

Fourthly... I was about to go home earlier and the all of the sudden... The lift crap out on me. I was stuck from 430 until 5. It would be great if I was stuck with a hot chick or something but I was stuck with one of my bosses... An epic end to an epic day... Happy weekend

Day 130: The weather is getting bad

Today work as usual. Nothing interesting happen until around 4pm. There was a big thunderstorm came through the office. I was already worried that there was going to be a flash flood. But I was in a meeting so I can leave the office yet. Good thing that the meeting ended at 5pm. I quickly pack my stuff and leave. I found out, since it rained heavily, the parking lot almost got water coming in. IF after 20 mins in, the whole level 1 could be flooded with rain. Hopefully that is not the case. Other than that, another tender that I worked won... which is great for me

Day 129: Tomorrow a holiday

Yay... Today half of the staff were on leave since deepavali is tomorrow. So today is quite a leisurely day for me. Doing some work and talking to a lot of other people. Tonight get to rest by watching tv and playing games tomorrow... Win

Spectre

The first five minutes is an awesome single frame shot... The start of a good Bond movie... After that is was a long drag... There were a couple great action sequences... And they were a lot of talking. The talking parts could be cut a bit short. The chase scene includes running, plane to car, car to car, boat to helicopter. Bond must be taking classes in aiming since he keeps on getting 100% kills. He even shoot a helicopter in the air while he is on a boat...  Casino Royale had it better.

Day 128: Lots of benefits

Today as I began another lazy Friday... (unless I have something due, I really hate to work on Friday's). Got to the office, had breakfast (after 2 weeks). At 10 got a fire safety talk. That was fun and informative. Learned a lot and I have to get some fire extinguishers as well as some smoke detectors. In the evening was the bi-monthly company meeting. The CEO announce that since the company is doing well, we all get to share the perks. Among the perks are,  more leave for next year (yay!!!) better medical plan (even better) and couple of other benefits that are not that important. Overall good day today... Can't wait for next week. Good evening and have a great weekend

What's good

- Diverse characters but each with a projectile, strength, flight powers

- Spider-Man is way overpowered 

- Story line is funny

- lots of side goals

What's bad 

- Can't advance without collecting enough gold bricks 

- Some bosses are cheap

- Lego breaks easily 

Status: 271/450 gold bricks. Finished the main storyline.

Day 127: Chicken and Egg

No, that's not what I had for lunch. That is the constant bickering of the sales team and the technical team. The sales team says "upgrade your infrastructure so we get more clients"... And the tech team says "how to upgrade the infrastructure when we don't have clients" I just stood at the back at smile. It seems that everyone has a plan to proceed next year. But it all comes down to money. Besides that I just found out that the we have won the project and all because I did the tender (well part of it). So I got thanked. If this was facebook I will be feeling appreciated...

Day 126: I feel appreciated

Yesterday i took Emergency Leave due to family stuff. So today I'm back at work. In the morning. My colleague invited me to attend a meeting. We all had lunch together. I came back to the office around 130pm. My HR manager as me to accompany her to the bank. In the middle of the bank trip. She said she wanted to eat sushi. So I went for 2nd lunch. Came back at the office around 3pm. Did 90 mins of work and left. I kind of love it everyone seems to want me around helping them and doing stuff. Hopefully tomorrow I have a better day not going anywhere.

Day 125: Freedom

This is going to be a long post. Basically this weekend is not a holiday for me. I had to work and get all of the tender documents ready. On Sunday after all my family obligations, at 6pm I went to the office and finished all of the stuff that is due. I worked till 930 and I think I've printed out more than 400 pages. There were a lot of wasted paper. After 9 I went back and had a steak dinner. Which was yummy. 

Today I came and frantically finish the last minute items that needed to be complete. Everyone also pitched in. Some help wrapped the document, some help burn it into a disc. (Which is a waste since less than 10MB). I went with my friend to send the tender and before 12 our mission was complete. There was another due but it wasn't my responsibility. But I still helped when needed. At 230 my whole team went for lunch and it's free from my friend. Yay... Now I can finish my pet project
