Day 187: A Great way to start a Monday

Today the jam was horrible. My pc keeps on crashing and my email account was frozen. But... It was an awesome day. People came to my table and ask me questions. I got an invitation for a meeting tomorrow (no need to go to the office). And I was in part of a discussion. So overall great working day

What is it about:
Son now throws his father in the volcano. The father comes back and want his revenge. (This story makes very little sense)

Game consist of:
- 3D Fighting

What's good:
- More characters
- Better CGI cutscense
- More modes like team battel (my favorite mode)



What's bad:
- Not to sure...  This game plays better than the first one so there is no complaints

Status: Finish the game with all cutscenes

Score: Worth to be played at least once

Tekken

I finally finished the PS1 game list. Now I am listing all the games that I've played at least once

Genre: Fighting

Platform: PS1

What is it about:

The father threw his son in the volcano, now the son is back for revenge

Game consist of:

- Fighting

- 3D movement

What's good:

- The first mainstream PS1 fighting game

- Diverse characters with a lot of fighting style

- No ultra powers, just good old brawling

- Fast paced running smooth on PS1 hardware

What's bad:

- Nothing much, its a good 2 player game

Status: Finish every characters with all endings

Score: Worth to be played at least once

Crash Team Racing

Mario Kart for the PS1

Genre: Racing
Platform: PS1

What is it about:
Crash and friends race to different themes of the game

Game consists of:
- Racing
- Weapon hurling
- Boss fighting

What's good:
- Hub world
- The tracks and weapons are varied with extra boost on 10 apples
- Lot's of characters

What's bad:
- Need to win to proceed further

Status: The game got stuck on the third world. Didn't get to finish it

Game: Worth to be played at least once (if you get an least buggy version)

Wipeout 3

This is a classic

What's is it about:

Futuristic racing with spaceships on tracks 

Game consists of: 

- Racing 

- Shooting 

What's good:

- Racing is fast paced

- Lots of cool weapons 

What's bad:

- There are only 4 ships 

- there are only 4 tracks. 

- This game is more like a demo than an actual game 

Status: Finish the game on novice difficulty

Day 186: The week ended... awesomely

Yesterday morning I had a meeting with a very famous cinema company. That was awesome. Got to know the workings of a cinema company. Besides that when I arrived at the office around 11:30. There was no parking. Had to wait around 20 mins for an opening to showed up. In the evening, had a very productive meeting with the boss. He assigned me something to do which I tend to do today while waiting for my wife's hospital visit. Finally, I feel like I am working... Not too much I hope... But its all good

Day 185: I got half day today... by chance

Came to the office, it was business as usual until one of the client managers decided to give me a tender to work on. So I was gladly helping her until the last minute, and then she said. Can you send it to that place. It was due at 12pm. It was 40km away and I left at 11:15. So I told the team that if I go there I am not coming back for today since the place is near my house. So I scramble my tumbler and sped like nobody business. Manage to send the tender with a couple minutes to spare. Went home and did my work from there. Got a nice 30 min nap which is always good. My boss call me at 510 saying that there is a client that I need to go for a meeting tomorrow at 10. So all's good today. Let's see what tomorrow brings...

Day 184: Going for knowledge enhancement

So today besides the normal work stuff. Got to learn about he product somemore. Thinking knowledge is key, so I am taking the time to enter a masterclass with a pro. It takes a while but at least is better than nothing. Something happen with project X so everybody that is involve (excluding me) was in a bit of a fuss... Wonder what's going home.

Day 183: It seems that I'm the owner of something

He evening today I was in a meeting with people from a specific product. It turns out my name got bounce around lots of time and my boss say the account will be under my name. Not that I am complaining but I really am not sure that I can do it. Do I love the challenge. Of course. We will see how it goes.

Day 182: I foresee this is going to be a crappy week

Today is back to work. For the first time after a month we had our weekly sales meeting. After that I continue on doing the project that I needed to do. Got a call from a guy from another company saying that I need to step it up since it my job going to be on the line. Good thing I have a friend who is doing the similar thing, so he ask me just to ignore it and continue working like usual. What happen when life give u a shitty lemonade. You smile and make more lemons. I am not worried about this week. Since, things can't get me down. Oh, I so hope the new gig comes though, then I have on less thing to worry about. On a side note, we receive another angpaw (it was supposed to be the door gift during the annual dinner. It was 288 bucks... Man my company is rich

What is it about:
Still doesn't know the story is about. But this time there are some guys from the future.

Game consists of:
- Driving
- Shooting
- Questing

Whats good:
- More cars, trucks and bikes
- Better weapons
- Better stages, interactive environment
- CG cutscenes

What's bad:
- Game gets to repetitive after a while.

Status: Finish the game once and watch the rest of the CG cut scene via cheat code

Score: A great way to waste your time.

Vigilante 8

Better than twisted metal

Game no: 144

Genre: Action

Platform: PS1

Duration: A couple of hours 

What is it about:

During the 70's a group of people fought over something with cars that have weapons built in

Game consists of:

- Shooting

- Driving

What's good:

- Variety of cars

- The select character screen is very high resolution

- Weapon selection is good

- CGI ending cutscence with is rare for the PS1 daysy

What's bad:

- Targeting needs work

- Games like this gets old very fast.

Status: Finish the game with on person and saw all the other endings on youtube

Score: A great way to waste your time

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2

This game used to be a thing

Genre: Sports

Platform: PS1

What is it about:

- Join Tony Hawk and his group of friends in multiple locations 

Game consists of:

- skating

- questing 

- level grinding 

What's good:

- Stages are interactive 

- Tricks are cool when u get it right 

What's bad:

- the timer really spoils the game flow 

- some of the checklist items are just tedious 

Status: played a couple hours and that's about it

Score: you'll be bored unless you are very good at it 

Star Gladiator Episode 1

I wonder why Capcom has not reboot this yet

Duration; A couple of hours 

What is it about:

In the future people fight using weapons called plasma

Game consist of:

- Fighting 

- Avoiding the edge of the stage 

What's good:

- Plasma weapons are cool.

- Executing a combo is cooler 

- The final boss stages does have a ring out more like a ring up 

What's bad:

- Game doesn't have any story

- Why did they name this episode 1? Clearly they plan to release a number of these

- Characters aren't memorable enough 

Status: Finished the game with someone 

Score: Great way to waste your time 

Soul Blade

The precursor to Soul Calibur

Genre: Fighting

Duration: A couple of hours 

What is it about: 

Some guys fighting over a ancient sword. Or something like that 

Game consists of:

- Fighting 

-Weapon using 

- Avoiding the ring out 

What's good: 

- Mix characters with different types of attacks and weapons (varied combat)

What's bad:

- The final boss is cheap and some of the characters have better stats than others 

- No story 

Status: Finish the game with Mitsurugi

Score: Great way to waste your time 

Day 181: Annual dinner livebloging

Well the highlights that happen in office today

Around 12 we got raided by the crew of mixfm. They came and brought lou sang (yee sang dish). So we all involved in having a good time

After Friday prayers boss gave me a hard time in in not preparing for the product I'm supposed to sell. Sigh... Next week I'm going ramp it up...

At 3pm went to my friends house to get changed. It beats going back home.

- the Mc was a comedian and she was a riot. Very obscene and graphic when it comes to her jokes. A lot of boobs and penis jokes

Day 180: People actually needed me today

Well got something that I need to do from my boss. Not bad at all. After 3, I got ask by a couple of collegues for help. Nothing mind bending but I was glad to help. Tomorrow is our annual dinner. The big boss said that this they rarely do this. So business must be good. Well I'll do a live blogging tomorrow..

Day 179: Hump day

2 more days till the weekend. Today was just business as usual. Nothing weird or out of the ordinary to report. Had lunch. Gossip about the office mates. I do hope the guys are ok with. I know they are... My daughter is not feeling well... That's not good.

Day 178: Work till 1040

Well I was in the office. Doing some work. My boss did not message me back. (He is probably preoccupied with other matters to handle my issues or lack thereof). At 1040 I got a called saying that the presentation at our secondary site had an issue. There are no projectors. So I had to rush there which is around 35km to give them a couple of projectors. Arrived there at breakneck speed. Gave them the projectors and stuff. I decided to stay there until the presentation was over. It was over around 3pm. The remaining team members went for lunch and at 4 I went to pick up my daughter. Not a bad days work... Today was a bit tired that usual. Took a nap... Hope the presentation for tomorrow goes smoothly.

Day 177: Still no work on a Monday

Came to the office early in the morning and I found out there was no breakfast. I know today the offices  will be visited by some lion dancers. So I went up to the office to find out there was no one there. It turns out that until the lion comes and bless the offices. No one is allowed to work yet. I took it as a chance to do nothing. My boss came and I greeted him. After that he gave me an angpaw.

After that I got a couple more angpaw but this time is for my kids 

After that one of my boss invited me to a game of 21. Oh forgot to mention during this time the staff are allowed to bring their family members into this highly secure office and people are encouraged to gamble some money. I put 1 dollar. Got 10 and loss 10 at the same time. Good game. We were called down for the lion dance 

The lion dance was awesome. The lion did some acrobatic stunts. Eat oranges and shoot it out again to people. Came to people and started biting them.

After that we moved to the room where the food is. The picture below is something called a yam seng or is it yee sang. Not that quite sure. But what you do is everyone take chopsticks and try to toss all the ingredients very high in the sky. The high is it toss the more prosperity it will be

Had lunch... Got angpaw from the ceo (50 smakeroos x2) and went home. All in all it was a good day. Tomorrow work actually starts

Great puzzle game

What's good:

- Gameplay is simple enough Yet surprisingly difficult 

What's bad:

- I keep running out of air 

Status: Played a couple of hours. Good enough.

Motor Toon Grand Prix

First game from the studios that brought you Gran Turismo

What's it about:

Cartoon cars racing around the track

Game consists of:

- Racing

- Weapons using 

What's good:

- Visually pleasing 

- Weapons are varied 

What's bad:

- Gameplay is over very soon 

- The cars are a bit wobbly 

Status: Finish the championship 

Score: A great way to waste your time 

Ridge Racer Type 4

A Suprisingly good storyline

Genre: Racing

What's is it about:

You are a rookie racer entered a team to race

Game consist of:

- Racing 

- Reading

- Drifting 

What's good:

- Selection of cars

- Track design

- Storyline 

What's bad:

- Very short. 

- Only 8 tracks 

Status: Finish the story mode gran prix

Score: Worth to be played at least once.

Deadpool

First movie of the year and its a good one. Granted there were a couple of censored parts here and there but didn't spoil the total enjoyment of the movie. Ryan Renolds nailed it with Deadpool. He jokes were on point and the action was gruesome. The addition of Colossus and Negasonic was a fan service. They did however manage to forward some plot points. The main British bad guy was meh... He doesn't have a bad plan rather he was there to be killed by Deadpool.  Great movie and I will make an update review once I get the bluray edition of the move

Day 176: Today's meeting was a riot

Today was still in holiday mood. So I was invited to a meeting. That meeting was basically more talking and less solving. But it was a riot until my wife called me and said someone hit her car. After that my mood change and tomorrow I have to go and try to fix the car.

Day 175: My office is a ghost town

Today going to my office only took 20 minutes. The roads were clear. There was no jam at all. Come to the office and I was the only one there. It turns about there were only 10 of us in the office (the rest all went for breakfast) since we didn't celebrate Chinese New Year. The office were still in the mood of celebrating. I did work that I was supposed to do and then there is nothing to do. I was lost for a while but my best friend told me as long as I've done my task I should be fine. So I think I know what I am going to do tomorrow. Read up on the stuff that I've already done. Until it's burn into my mind.

On a side note: I was listening to a podcast (rip GT time) and one of them said something that stuck to my mine "a job is where you sell your time and body for money". "As long you understand it and can come to terms for it you will be fine. Since most of the time I want to play games, I do feel that this is a place that I need to be to earn money. And I am ok with it...

What's is it about:

Race in everyday locations with miniature vehicles 

Game consists of:

- 4 player racing

- Head to head racing 

What's good:

- Stages are fun and varied 

- Different types of cars and boats 

- Best science stage 

What's bad:

- The CPU cars are jacked up. They have extra boost 

- Rock Hard is very rock hard. Saw a guy who beat it on youtube.. Crazy

- No helicopters.

Status: Finish the game till Rock Hard then just watch the YouTube clip

You woke up in a mysterious island and you solve clues to figure out what happen

Game consists of:

- Reading 

- Moving your iPhone 360 degrees 

- Puzzle solving 

- Listening (this game needs to work with headphones) 

What's good: 

- Puzzles are innovative 

- Story is wired 

- Creepy background 

What's bad: 

- The ending is open ended

- The ingame survey does nothing to the game 

Status: Finished the game with 600 points. Bought a doll with it

Klonoa Door to Phantomile

This game didn't age well

What is it about:

Err... Not that sure. Something about dreams and stuff 

Game consists of:

- Platforming 

- Kirby-esqe power ups 

What's good: 

- 2.5D isometric stages with multiple branches 

What's bad: 

- The hit detection sucks 

Status: Since the hit detection sucks it makes the game really unplayable in the long run

Score: You'll end up quitting (without rage)

Incredible Crisis

What is it about: 

A typical Japanese family trying to survive the incredible day that they are having in order to get home to celebrate grandma birthday

Game consist of:

- Button mashing 

- Puzzle solving 

- Brain teasers

- Rhythm movement 

- Avoiding obstacles 

What's good: 

- The story is very enjoyable 

- The mini games are quite fun

What's bad:

- Some mini games are hard to win

- Controls seems irresponsive

Hydro Thunder

Man... This game sucks

Duration: Less than 10 minutes

What is it about:

Powerboat racing across wired landscapes and an obnoxious announcer 

Game consists of:

- Water racing

- Boosting 

What's good:

- The stages are well made 

What's bad:

- everything else

- in easy you can't win

- the boost power up is useless 

- you need to pay to unlock different stages. Which u get by winning. Which is impossible 

Status: Played easy mode. That's about it

Score: You'll end up rage quitting 

Day 174: My break has officially started

Well I'm still working. But... Most of the crew has gone on Chinese New Year break. So... Freedom.

Fatal Fury Wild Ambition

Not a bad game... I guess

What is it about: 

A guy is on the path of revenge enters the Fatal Fury tournament 

Game consist of:

- Fighting 

What's good:

- Classic Fatal Fury characters 

- CG storyline 

What's bad 

- The fighting is a bit slow

- The last boss is damn cheap

- The gauge is dependent on the hits

Status: Finish the game with Terry. No movie in the end 

Score: You'll get bored after 2 hours or 3 

Ehrgeiz

The first game where Cloud is fully rendered

Genre: Fighting

Platform: PS1

Duration: 2 hours 

What is it about:

Multiway directional fighting game that feature cameos from FFVII characters.

Game consists of:

- Fighting 

- Button mashing mini games 

- An optional RPG (looks sucky to me)

What's good:

- Multi level stages

- Variety of characters 

- FFVII characters are way to overpowered 

- The credits is awesome. You get to fight the final boss while credits are show

- Hit points 

What's bad: 

- Games get button mashy in the end 

- No idea what's the story is about 

Status: Played a couple of times. Beat the boss and call it a day

Score: Great way to waste your time 

Day 173: Nothing much to report

Today I applied for half day. Technically I only work around 2 and half hours. Which is good for me since there are a lot of things covered during that time. This evening my brother is coming to town and for the first time I will meet my nephew. So I am excited for that.

Disney's Toy Story 2

This game use to suck even less

Duration: A couple of hours 

What is it about:

Follow Buzz Lightyear to te events of Toy Story 2. Sort of

Game consist of:

- Platforming 

- Puzzle solving 

- Fetch questing 

- Boss fighting 

What's good:

- The stages are big for a game this size

- Variety is quest

- In game movie from toy story 2

What's bad:

- Camera doesn't automatic pan out

- Basic polygons makes platforming tedious 

- The laser is hard to aim in third person 

Status: Played three stages after that I was done 

Score: You'll be bored after 3 hours or 4

Day 172: Like nothing happen

After a good 4 days off. I thought my boss will have my head due to events happen on day 171. But to my suprise, my boss was being nice to me. Made a couple of jokes. Even my collegues were all cool. I got a little bit of redemption after that since I am force to repeat my work that I did last week. So this time I made sure I've triple check my work. 

Colin McRae Rally 2.0

Best rally game to date

Genre: Racing 

Platform: PS1

Duration: 2 days

What's is it about:

Follow Colin McRae and race around the world in awesome rally tracks 

Game consist of:

- Rally driving 

What's good: 

- Stages are varied 

- Controls are smooth and precise 

- Cars get damage. Simulation feel

- The start screen is awesome 

What's bad

- Gone are night racers 

Status: Finish the whole 9 country tracks with gold on novice

Score: A rare gem. Worth to be played multiple times
