Day 207: That was a waste of time

Today was a great day. I knew that I had a meeting at 1130. So my friend (CM) ask me to prepare the material. We already know what the client wants but it seems that the product holder (we are the partner) wants to do the sales pitch again. We went to the office and the meeting lasted for less than 30 mins. What peeves me off is last week when I ask the technical product holder for a particular report. He said that he can't do it. But today when the product holder sales guy said the same thing. They say, yup we can provide it. I was like "what the fudge man". And the proposal that I did was void, they wanted to go for a different direction. As well as the pricing. After saying our goodbye, my friend RJ said let's get out of there before we the fatty UP ask to join us for lunch. We really hated that guy.

Well the there was something good that come out of today. I got a free lunch. I got to know that RJ plans to leave the company if he is not made permanent by April. Lastly I saw that never deal with COD on a item if that guy is a sales champion. 

Day 206: Nothing special happen today

Today was a good day at work. Nobody bothered me that much. Which was good. I did my claims which was a lot of work... Tomorrow I got a meeting... See how that goes.

Finally finished a game

Genre: Action 

Platform: PS Vita 

What is it about: 

Ryu Hayabusa is back kicking ass and taking names. I really didn't follow the story

Game consists of:

- Hacking and Slashing 

- Projectile shooting 

- Platforming 

What's good: 

- More variety in weapons 

- Better combat

- Less use of the touch screen which is a plus 

What's bad:

- Framerate dips if there is more than 4 bad guys on screen.

- Surikens have no effects. No more explosive Surikens

Status: Finish all 17 chapters. Played a bit of Ninja Race. Game deleted

Score: A great way to waste your time. 

Day 205: I don't envy sales

Back to work on Monday. And back to my new spot at the back. Which I don't mind. People can't see what I am doing. Today in the sales meeting, our big boss told us that we are down 200k for Q1 and we need to get 7.5 for Q2. That is 7.5 million dollars in 3 months. That is a lot of money. So I don't envy people in sales. They get all the commission but they do work hard for it. The best I can do is to support them in anyway I can. This evening we got some problem with our vendor. Which I find irritating... But my friend let them handle it so I am good with it.

Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice

Is this a good movie? Not really. Is this a good comic. Yes it is. The way they structure the movie is more like a comic book. There are a lot of items that doesn't need to be in the movie and it kind of drag the overall movie. This movie is damn long. More like 156mins long. If they cut the unimportant parts they probably can shorten it. 

Now let's talk about the characters. Ben Afleck is the best Batman by far. He actually does detective work. He is also a better batman in terms of combat. More like the Arkham knight batman. Even the Batmobile is a better batmobile the the tumbler. Alfred is the most hand on Alfred in the movie. He never did any butler stuff. Henry Cavill is a mixed bag superman. I've read a lot of comic books and superman is a happy guy. At least he tries to be. But this superman is very broody and sad. He does look strong though. Wonder Woman was the best of the show. She was there for less tha. 10 mins but that's more than enough to leave an impression. Even when trinity was standing side by side it was a sight to behold. The bad character among all is Lex. He is probably trying to be all crazy but that doesn't quite work for the character. 

The ending was unexpected. But I think they will make it work. It does set up the Justice League. Couple with small cameo from the other characters can't wait for the extended DCU.

Day 204: This is the best work week ever

Yesterday was the last day of training. A lot of awesome stuff happen that I couldn't share due to the rule of the Internet (any picture you post will stay there forever)

Came at 9, got a CPR assessment. Everyone passed. Learned a couple of bandaging techniques, burn victim preparation and how to carry a hurt victim. The last part I probably can't do since that involves a lo of strength. After that I was exam time. I broke the record for the fastest completion time. Under 7 minutes. 

After lunch it was mock simulation time. We were separated into 3 groups. 

Firsts Aiders 

Victims

Busy body bystanders (which in hindsight this only happens in Malaysia)

Round 1:

My team was the first aiders and we have to treat victims from a building collapsed. There were two victims that have severe injuries but I was the only one attending to the broken protruding leg victim. Due to the lack of gaws and bandages we have we had to use a friends shirt.

Round 2:

We were the busy body bystanders and we have to disturb a scene from a fire. And then one of the victims began to foam in the mouth uncontrollably. That was awesome effects.

Round 3: 

We were the victims and we are held hostage by a deranged mental person. I played the hostage. I got throat slit when they came in. I was the last treated...

Day 203: Emergency Response Training

Before I go to sleep I'll win rite about today's training. Today's training is about first aid and CPR. Let's see if I can remember the highlights 

For any emergency what you need to do is

D = clear all danger from the surroundings 

R = try to get the victim to respond. If he can't you need to 

1) ask someone to call for help

2) get the automated emergency defibrillator machine 

3) meet me back here 

Then scan the person to see if he is still breathing 

C = putting your hilt of the hand and interlocking with your other hand. Make a 90 degree angle between the person 2 breast. And push in about 2cm in in 30 compression intervals. Must be around 18 seconds 

A = Hold your hand up to his forehead and use your other hand at the chin. Push it up to lift his airway.

B = pinch his nose and take 2 deep breaths 

Repeat until

A = Ambulance arrive

R = the victim is revive 

E = you are exhausted (you can only do 5 time compression 

A = The AED machine arrive 

Once the AED machine arrive. 

Open his shirt. While compressing his chest activate the AED machine

Place the 2 pads on his head and waist. Wait for instruction from the machine before you shock the victim. Repeat compression after that.

Day 202: I'm coming home

Yesterday was my last day in Singapore. Woke up early yesterday for breakfast and had a good one. Came to the training center today and the training was ok. There are a lot of basic concepts that I didn't have the grasp on. But I was honest and the instructor was ok with it. She gave a me a couple of things to read up. 

At 4 I made my leave since I don't want to take any chances leaving the airport. Went back to the hotel. Had a shower and left.

Fun facts about Singapore: 

1)  There are specific taxi drop points and they only fetch people on specific routes 

2)  Houses cost around 400k Singapore dollars and it takes 99 years to pay it off

3) Most people have to work after they retire just for a bite to eat 

4) It has worse work to live balance 

5) The local Singaporeans are only earning 3000-2000 dollars. They are not living the good life.

I arrive at the airport at 5:10 and was suprised that they could bump my flight early. While waiting to be boarded I saw the most beautiful woman ever. Low and behold I was sitting beside her in the flight. We talked for a while and then she went to sleep. She looks superficial since she keeps looking at her Instagram and Twitter feeds. 

Arrived at 9. 9:30 the cab took me home. The kids were not asleep yet. Kiss them goodnight, had dinner and went to sleep. Tomorrow there is another 2 day training course 

Day 201: And the training begins

I Yesterday's  training started at 1130. So I woke up my friend around 8 so we could have some breakfast. Here are some of the breakfast food I ate 

After that we took a cab to the training centre. We were greated by the members and the training started. All I can say about the training is that the training is damn hard. If you don't have a basic understanding for networking properties you are basically screwed. I could understand the theory part of the training but the part was quite difficult. 

After 6 my friend went to meet his friend which was a couple of dinner. I tag along since I don't know anyone there. His friend takes us to mustafar. Something like little Bangladesh in Singapore. Ate some cool Indian good and frank some Indian tea... That tea didn't go well. I haven't started blogging for today. Probably I'll do the that after I land. Can't wait to see the family 

Day 200: I'm leaving on a jet plane

I've made it to another 100 days since my last 100 day post. A lot has happen during this time. I feel that I've grown as a employee and as a person in a sense. I was supposed to do a special on the people around my office. But I am going to save that for the next 100. The new update for today is that I got moved to another desk. This desk is way at the back and I am a table besides my boss. The pros in the desk is that no one can see what I am doing. Since I am at the back. The cons is, I'm very close to the boss. So that sucks a bit. Oh well... Today is my first trip overseas since I'm flying to Singapore, that's going to be an adventure of its own.

Now it's 728pm. My friend has already left for a different flight. He says that he will wait for me. Probably split a cab or take the train. I am going to board my flight soon. 

Arrived at Singapore around 9pm. My friend was already here and he was waiting for me. Both of us was hungry so we stop by for something to eat. 

After taking the train and learning about Singapore transit system. We finally arrived to the hotel. 

12am got bath and went to bed... Tomorrow is a new day

Day 199: I really have to start thinking of new titles

Today, I start the day by getting my new laptop set up. Which is awesome. It turns out that my laptop is a version down from my current setup. Which I don't mind. It's running Windows 10 and all the programs I want is there. During lunch, the geng was bitching about office politics and such. That was fun to hear. Came back from lunch, played a bit of fun run and I had a meeting with a client. It turns out the meeting is with the CTO and head IT for the division. I was so under dressed. But no matter. Meeting was over and I'm back at home. I have to prepare for the Singapore trip soon. That's going to be a doozy...

Day 198: Free Period

Today is a great day. For starters, my boss is on outstation for a meeting. So he won't be back. Besides that both of my team mates are nowhere to be seen. Which is also awesome. But I still have the ninja report to finish whihc wasn't a big deal since I know what I have to do. At 11am, my friend ask me to accompany him to Lowyat. He wants to get his new Galaxy S7 Edge phone. Damn that phone is expensive. He got it 15% off which is a steal. I bough myself a wireless mouse, since the wired mouse that been provided by my company is really getting on my nerves. After lunch went back and finish the rest of the report. Around 3pm, the office secretary came and announced that we are changing chairs... Awesome.. New chairs... And at 4pm, I went down to get a new laptop with Windows 10. So lets recap

Day 197: Ninja report got slashed

This was yesterday posts. I really need to start remembering to post after the end of my shift. Yesterday, I finished the Ninja report  but after showing it to the VP. It got slashed badly... But nothing I can't fix. Let see what else happen yesterday??? The whole office is not fixated on a new app. It's called Fun Run 2.. the graphics are mundane but playing with the whole office is a hoot.

Day 196: Work from home

Today is my half day. So after going back from the hospital. I decided to do my work from home. As long I am reachable I should be fine.

This is yesterday's post. Start of a new week at the office. Came for the meeting and one of the other vp of sales declared that I am going to Singapore... So guess what I am going to Singapore. Besides that I got a lot of other task which I don't see it to be that difficult. Today is my half day

Day 194: In turns out I'm sick

Today in the afternoon I had two meetings with clients. The first one didn't go so well since the VP man came along. And he was not that cool in front of the client. He was pissed of after the meeting . My friend J said don't take it personal. I believe when we take things personal, is time to quit my job. Do I think it won't go well my boss? Who knows... Since I'm actually sick so tomorrow I'm on medical leave 

Lara Croft GO

Best iOS game to date

What is it about: 

Follow Lara Croft as she navigates caves to find treasure. The usual tomb raider stuff 

Game consists of

- Puzzle solving 

- Shooting 

What's cool:

- The cell shading is awesome

- There animation this time.

- Puzzles are fun and interesting 

- Treasures are everywhere 

- Boss fight is fun

What's not so cool:

- There is only one boss

- It's short. It's over before you know it 

- There is no variety in weapons 

Status: Finish the game and now trying to get all the treasures 

Score: A rare gem, worth to be played multiple times 

Sony PlayStation 1

So I have finished all my games for the PS1 console. So I am going to say a couple a words of the PlayStation. I got this console by saving my money for close to year. But I didn't even buy a new one, I bought a second hand console from a friend. It turns out during that time consoles doesn't have firmware updates. So I got stuck with a console that couldn't play any new games. So I sold it off to another friend (for a bit of a loss) and bought a new console. That new console comes with one game. Which is Tekken 2... 

I remember during the time I had the console, I didn't have a proper colour tv. So my Tv doesn't have the proper RGB setup. So all my games were in black and white. Which is awesome since I still get to play it. 

Games I remember playing... Mostly multiplayer fighting and racing games. I did buy the multitap adapter so I could play WWE Smackdown with 4 people. I did wonder how games were so cheap around my area. It turns out, the shop sells all bootleged games. But during that time, a couple of bucks for a new games is awesome. 

This console stuck with me for a couple of years until I had realized I am not a gamer that much. I'm trying to remember when did ,mu love for gaming came to be... But I did know is not the PS1...

Day 193: It was a good day

Today the amount of work was just right. So I am not complaining. Tomorrow I have a prepare for two different presentations. So that will be fun. Am I scared. Not really. I'll do my homework tomorrow morning and see what it brings up...

Day 192: Lunch was awesome

Today, continuing events in day 190. I was called to represent my company for a meeting. The meeting was held in some posh apartment suite. The meeting room was adjacent with a transparent swimming pool. The meeting went well, I answered a couple of questions. After that it wa lunch time. We had lunch in an Asian restaurant. Very pricey

We we're happily talking and then suddenly the people in charge of the project started to come in and act all douchey. Yelling in front of us saying we messed it up somehow. I wasn't that interested so I continued eating 

After that I went back to the office, cleared my mail and went home. Everything was great until I got an email saying that I need to prepare for an upcoming presentation for a client. So much for no work

Zootopia

This is for me the best animated movie so far. For a movie about talking animals, there is little humor in it. The story is very interesting for a animation. It centers in a mystery that when you think they found the bad guy. The story gave us another plot twist. The characters are damn cute with all of the hair animation. Got lots of cameos from past Disney movies which awesome. In my list of movie of the year

London has Fallen

The sequel to Olympus has fallen. We see agent Mike Banning as he tries to Call of Duty His way out of London. Seriously, this movie looks like it came straight out of Modern Warfare 3. The action is non stop with only a little intermission of the touchy feely moments. That's kind of the point of this movie. There is no personal attachment you have for the characters. You were not moved when they try to capture the president. I can say the CG in the movie needs work. But it's amazing they can get London to be so empty. Overall great popcorn movie.
