Turning Red

A good reminder that the 90s sucks 

What is it about?
A girl cursed to turn into a red panda when she is emotionally overwhelmed 

The Good 
The story is simple and funny at the same time
The red panda is super cute 
The only one song is catchy
The final act is like an anime 

The Bad
Everyone seems to be okay with a red panda roaming around 

The Ugly 
Nothing much. Everything is resolved

After Credits: Yes

Verdict: A great movie to watch. Probably will let the kids watch this

The King's Man

The movie is dark for a spy movie 

What is it about?
The origins of the Kingsman agency.

The Good
The action is top notch 
When the spy stuff is great 

The Bad
The child in the movie sucks. You root for him and then it didn't pan out as it should be 
Seriously is like watching two different movies. The fun one and the serious one

The Ugly
Nothing much 

After Credits: Yes, maybe a sequel?

Verdict: Not a bad movie. Worth a watch 

Micro Machines 1and 2 : Twin Turbo

 A very good port

Basically this game is a port of the SNES version. The game is fast pace and fun to play. The only issues is a bit of slowness when you fall which makes it a bit frustrating. I finish all 25 tracks and and in the end I say it was a fun 3 days. B-Rank for me 

Death on the Nile

A murder mystery that was okay

What is it about?
Poirot returns for sequel, this time on water

The Good
The cast of characters. Everyone has time to shine 
The main character himself is a treat to watch
The mystery will keep you guessing till the end  

The Bad
Setting up the murder took a long while. Like half of the movie 
You are not engage since some scene drag on forever 

The Ugly 
Nothing much. This is enjoyable

After Credits: No

Verdict: If you like a mystery. This is a good watch 

Cheaper by the Dozen

This should have been a mini series 

What is it about?
The Remake of the classic movie 

The Good 
It's enjoyable to watch 

The Bad
Too many plotlines and it keeps jumping from one to one 
Ending is abrupt

The Ugly
They should make it a 6 episode show. It would be so much better. Too much characters needs to be develop, so little time

Verdict: The old one is so much better

 

Vampire Survivors

This game is awesome

This game is a bullet hell where you play as one of the heroes trying to stave of attacks from the dead. You start of with a level one weapon and slowly upgrade it to survive the horde. Your goal is too last 30 minutes (or more) and unlocking the secrets that lie ahead. 

This game is awesome. I don't know to describe it. Let me try my best. At first you are trying your best to survive but you will keep on dying. But for every death you gain gold which you can use to upgrade augments that help you to tackle the next challenge. After a while you understand the mechanic of the game is that upgrade you weapon and find the evolution that goes with the primary weapon. For example the garlic + heart at max level create a shield that sucks the life of the enemies. The thing is with max level upgrades doesn't mean you can survive. You need to think about combos to use to actually survive the game. That's all there is about the game. Nothing much. But the game with it's flashing lights and combos makes it so addictive that you just want to repeat it again and again until you unlock every thing that the game have to offer. 

The only thing I gripe is that most of the things you don't actually know what to do without a guide. But I think that is part of the game. The mystery of discovering something new makes is super exciting. Really there is nothing much that I can say that reflect negatively on the game. 

In the end Vampire Survivors is a game that easy to play but difficult to master. But once you master is, the runs can be fun and enjoyable. This will be one of the my top 3 games for this year. S-Rank for me.

Magical Tetris Challenge

A game that is about taking a drop of marbles and match it to the same color. And that'd about it I guess, Nothing much to talk about. C-rank for me 

Klustar

Tetris but from all angles 

Game no: 490
Genre: Puzzle  
Platform: Gameboy Color 
Release Date: 1999

A tetris game but where the blocks move from angles. the blocks will disappear after you get 3x3. If you miss your chance it will make the main block will be longer and you have no way to navigate it.  Overall it is enjoyable but you'll get bored after a while. I gave it a C-Rank.

Denki Blocks!

 The first gameboy color game that I really enjoy

It is basically a simple game where you need to match the  same color blocks to the rest. The only trick is that when you move the blocks everything moves with you. So you need to navigate the terrain in order not to hit anything or become stuff. This game is genius and easy to play. There are some puzzle that I can't figure out but overall I enjoyed my time playing it. I think this how Gameboy Color games should be. Short and sweet without any convoluted mess. I give this game a B-Rank 

The 355

Same movie different form 

What is it about?
A group of agency agents were double cross and try to clear their name and get revenge (there should be a subgenre for this types of movies)

The Good
Action is top notch

Black Panther Wakanda Forever

The king is gone but there is still hope 

What is it about?
1 year after King T'challa passing. A new threat emerges

The Good
It was a good funeral. Very profound
The action even is not much, is great
A new generation of heroes 
Namor and Griot are the stars of the show

The Bad
It is a bit too long. there are a couple scene can be cut off
For the title there is not much Black Panther in the movie 

The Ugly
Nothing much 

After Credits: Only One

Verdict: A great movie. A must watch

No Time to Die

 A fitting ending 

What is it about?
007 come out of retirement for one final mission 

The Good
Action and talking is pace perfectly 
The bad guy is not that bad but good enough
Every lose end is tied up

The Mcguffin is dumb 
The ending is sad but they had to make it a double gut punch

House of Gucci

This is not a crime drama

What is it about?
The story about the famous fashion company

The story is interesting

They didn't show what happen after the end. Which is the best part.
They are trying to make it a love story but in the end it is just a story about greed

Verdict: Watch it if you have nothing to do 

God of War Ragnarok

Does this game lived up to the hype.

Nothing has changed. Everything is the same yet different. Years have passed since the first game and now the main characters are older and wiser. Old friends becomes enemies and there are new friends on the horizon. You start off where it left off from the first game. Everything is freezing and Ragnarok is approaching. Kratos has his motivation to avoid confrontation while Atreus wants to seek answers in stopping Ragnarok. Well that's the beginning of the game in a nutshell. If you love the first story you are going to love the second one.  

What is different from the first game is that this
time a lot of things have been streamline for the better and yet some things remain the same. The map is still confusing to understand. Upgrade points still require a lot of resources but this time you don't need to change your armor every time but you can upgrade it until the max level (provided if you have enough resources) Kratos has a new weapon. But the biggest change to this game is that now you can control Atreus in different parts of the story. The single camera view from the first game return means that you seamlessly transition into a different character without you noticing it. Kratos still controls good. His rage now can double as a healing bar. Atreus is much faster and has better long range since he has a bow. The Atreus sections are more mellow since he can only handle a certain type of enemies. Other things that change is you companion that follows you through your adventures change for each act of the story. They still control with one press of a button but now you can have a different buddy to converse with.

What I liked about this game is that the story is more epic. There are also moments of somber and seriousness. But the story didn't grip me as much as the first game. I think is because we know that this is the end. We know where the characters are going. It does manage to surprise you from time to time but overall the story is an epic adventure. Gameplay is fun and also the puzzles are also challenging to solve. I didn't mind at all Mimir talking on how to solve it because I wanted to advance the story. The thing I didn't like is probably the map. Some of the characters as well didn't have closure for me which really sucks. And the ending. As much as I love where it went I just didn't like how it ended.

Overall God of War Ragnarok lives up to what Sony Santa Monica set to do. The game is long with the main story spanning close to 20 hours. Plus the side missions which I did a couple I was looking at a good 30-40 hours of gameplay. But I wanted it too end because it was too long and I was getting to restless in wanting to know what has happen. After finishing the game I was happy that I get to experience something that I don't think I get to see again. In the end this is going to be my number 1 game of the year. A total S-Rank for me. 

Hotel Transylvania: Transformania

 Was this necessary

What is it about?
Dracula wants to retire but doesn't want to give the hotel to Johnny 

The Good
There are some funny parts

The Bad
The was not needed 
They are trying to pad the movie by having weird stakes 
The didn't even get the original actor to voice Dracula

The Ugly
Nothing much 

After Credits: No but animated credits

Verdict: Can be avoided 

God of War (2018)

Playing this again before Ragnarok

Rather than write about what made the game great and frankly this game is still a masterpiece. I will write about what I want the next game will be and see if they improve on it 

• A better map system. I don't mind if it's not specific but at least tell what we are missing 
• More enemy variety 
• Close all the plot points of the story 
• Upgrades that makes it easier to do. In the previous game you have no resources to upgrade the system and usually you don't know what to do. 
• An easy mode that is actually easy 

That's about it. I think if they made that this game is going to be a masterpiece from me. It's already an S-Rank so far. Let's see if they elevate it
