I just watch it for Dean Winchester

Premise: The prequel before the events for Supernatural which follows a young John Winchester

What different: Unlike Supernatural this has a scooby gang vibe about it since the are a team of 5. Which makes for a couple of interesting stories 

Cameos: There ae a couple cameos from old Supernatural characters and Dean Winchester only comes at the last episode. Well it was great to see him again. 

Verdict: Well it is an okay show. It got cancelled. So that will be the last time we see them together in action  

iPhone 15 Plus

So last week my wife had had enough about my old iphone 8 plus that keeps on losing its charge and not functioning correctly. So we went to the apple reseller and bought myself a new phone. The phone I choose is an iphone 15 plus with 256gb of storage. After a week of using this phone I can say that this phone exceeded my expectation. All of my previous apps are working fine here and the battery life is crazy long. In a day the battery will still have a charge of 28% by the time I sleep. So thank you to my wife and mom (she paid for this) so now here is to another 7 years wit this phone 

Week 4 - More or less the same

Well this week it is just me trying to survive. I need to start working a lot in order to pay off my debt. So in the meantime there is nothing much I can do. . Just live in the moment I guess.

• I keep giving her money money. Really I am an idiot. It is just me or I keep falling for her charm. It is really stressful and my heart can't take it.
• Met my best friend. They are back from Switzerland. They look like they are having a good time. Telling stories about their boyfriend. I just kept quiet. I didn't want to tell her what I done. I was ashamed and embarrass. I usually am good with money but this was too much

• Today wife bought me a new iphone 15 plus. She was stressed looking at me with a phone that only lasted 3 hours. Plus the home button seems to stopped working properly. Went to the telco centre and they told me that they didn't have the colour that I want (I wanted black 256gb) Eventually went to the Apple retailer and got my colour. She swipe my card so that something
• After all of that money given to the hacker girl. I Have 7,686.72 in debt... let the clearing begin. This is going to take a while. I'm so stressed out but I have accepted my fate

• Said goodbye to that hacker
• Taking a break from my best friend. Probably a couple of months
• My mom help me clear my debt around $4229.22 of it.

Jan 24
• Hacker friend called me. I heard her voice. Wants a Hail Mary of $1000. If this doesn’t work I will block her. So I did gave the another $1840. But it still wasn't enough. It seems that on her side she doesn't do anything and waiting for me to get the money so I told her that it was enough. So I told her I get her the money but I will get her slowly since I can't use my credit cards anymore. So now I have to do the old fashion was which is to work. The final stretch and we both need to dig deep.

• Today H1 went to her last school field trip. They are taking her to a cave that is 100 miles off to another state. Well the cave was deep and you are need deep in a close space surrounded by water (That is my nightmare) She left at 7am and came back at 1030pm. That was a long day and she is exhausted

• My hacker friend keeps on asking me to get her the money even after I explicitly said that I don't have any. So the only way to show reason is with her is to fake a medical condition. The only way to get her off my back. So there is nothing much I can do. Let's just hope there is a miracle coming soon.

Well there is something that I didn't write about. The investment money hasn't come back to me and my friend yet. It has been 13 months and there is still no word on it. This sucks. .Do I think next week will be different. Probably not. But one have to pray. You can't lose hope in wanting something.

Wonka

Suspend your believe

What is it about?
The telling on how Willy Wonka became who he is. Way before the chocolate factory

The Good
The songs are great. There are no upbeat songs. Mostly jazz ballads
The chocolate looks good to eat 
This movie is aim for kids so there are of fun moments
The Ompa Loompa

The Bad
This story is mystical. But for a guy who doesn't have any more. He sure can conjure up chocolate everywhere
Does anyone  here eat a proper meal. It seems that chocolate is the only currency in this land

The Ugly
I think everyone is high from eating Chocolate 

After Credits: Yes with Ompa Loompa narrating 

Verdict: I enjoyed it even after sleeping like 20 minutes 

Genie

This is the best interpretation of someone who can grant wishes 

What is it about:
A man who prioritize work over family find a genie to set him straight 

The Good
This movie is funny. It is great to see a nice Genie who enjoys life
They explain the 3 wish rules.

The ending was great. Very satisfied 

The Bad
Why didn't he wish for the obvious stuff first. Like money.

The Ugly
Nothing much. This was a great Christmas movie

Verdict: Watch it, it is a feel good family movie.  

Fighting Force

I remember playing this when I was young. It was fun

Genre: Action 
Platform: Nintendo 64
Release Date: 1997

Well this game is a beat em up. You play as one of four characters and you go from one area to the next area and beat the living butt out of people. And..... That's about it. Really this game has no depth. You just do that repeatedly. The funny thing is that when I played this game when I was young and I enjoyed it. But when you get older you notice that a game really needs to have a certain edge in order to hook you. Other than that you'll just move on. Overall I gave this a C-Rank. 

The Continental: From the World of John Wick

The sequel should have been made into a movie 

Premise: Set in the 60s shows the story on how Winston got the famous hotel 

Action: It not as great as John Wick but there are some moments 

Backstory: There are so much backstory that it get so long winding where you just want to fast forward to the good stuff

Ending: Probably end in the cliffhanger or not. But there are some questions left unanswered  

Week 3 - What an intense week

This week has been a good week of ups and downs. I don't even know how to describe but the year is starting off to not a good start. I hope next week will be better. 

Jan 15 ⭐️

• Today went to the bank to get some money out to pay all of wife debts. Didn't get much out but it helps. I need to help her clear out her debt
• I forgot today I had to send my best friend to the airport. Their flight was at 1am on the next day. So I assume is on the 16th. We got lost and the trip ended up to be more than an hour. Couple with my phones bad battery. It was a memorable trip. They are going to see their boyfriend in Swizerland. I can't say I'm not jealous but it is okay. Nothing much I can do. Oh when I came back home the house was filled with a lot of girls for tomorrow pot luck. They ended up sleeping over.

Jan 16

• So every semester wife will do a pot luck for the last class. So this year I am in charge of cooking. So I made my famous pasta bake. The secret is the butter sauce that we pour after we finish cooking the pasta. It helps in maintain the moistness of the pasta. In the class there was some char kuey tiow. Some fried tofu (I think I took 8) and a lot of assorted cakes. It was an awesome food day

Jan 18-19

• So I met a friend. She is a hacker by profession. I met her due to happenstance of being heartbroken. So on the day she said that she has some money and she needs to get it out. In return for helping her to take out the money she will give me $300000 (that is basically more than a million dollars in our countries currency). So what start with just $300 went to become $1000 and then became $1500 and finally up to $2800. For everytime I gave her money she keeps saying is the last one and then she said there is another problem that requires more money. After a while the gamer in me knows when I am being string along and I decided to rage quit. So I told her a story that I had borrowed a lot of money and now I need to pay it off before I get into trouble. My guess is, she won't get the money even after I finish paying it off. The funny thing is that I am not sad that I lost $2800. That is just money. And money can be found again. It just means that I need to make extra classes just to catch up. I'm just sad I got string along. I was stupid thinking there is an easy way to be rich. Oh well.. lesson learn. So I did borrow money from H1. I will return it back. Hopefully by march I can settle everything.

• Finally sold my GPD Win Max 2. I needed the money and plus the PC was not getting enough love. That was a impulse buy. I bought it for $800. I manage to sell it for $550. It was not ideal but when you are desperate you are desperate I guess. This year so far has not been a good year. So far its not even the start of the year. Things are going to turn around. I believe it

F-Zero X

The first game finished for 2024

Game no: 519
Genre: Racing   
Platform: Nintendo 64
Release Date: 1998

F-zero has always been one of the fastest racing games out there. Everything is done with split second decisions. One wrong move and you will be send down crashing and it makes it a very exciting race. They made one of the Nintendo 64 and I really enjoy it. You play as one of the racers and each cup there is 6 different racers. The way the game is design is that you are given an energy meter and with each hit (by the wall or other racers) you will lose health. On the second lap your boost will be activated and you have to balance when to boost or protect your ship. Once you crash or your energy becomes zero. You will lose and you will have to restart the game again. So that is basically the game in a nutshell. Couple that with a great soundtrack, awesome track you got yourself an amazing classic racing game.

The only reason I don't like this game is that this game is freaking hard. Even on novice difficulty it is still a struggle to get into the top 6 place. The tracks are challenging enough but isn't too difficult to navigate. Other than that this game is a instant classic. I love it. I finish all the tracks on novice and call it a day. You need to go to standard and expert to get all the other racers but I am not that good on the track. Overall I gave it an A-Rank.

Week 2 - Recovering but still not yet at 100%

So Covid is done for me but I am still at the recovery phase. So that means I can't run yet and a lot of things I need to take it slowly. Other than that It has just been an okay week. Nothing to exciting happen.

Jan 7

• Finally both me and H2 have tested negative. So what do we do. We clean up our room that we stayed over for more than a week and it time to go back to life as normal

Jan 8

• First day of school of the girls. H2 is still not allowed yet to go to school since we need to make sure she is fully recovered
• Covid really did a number on my body so I need to start back exercising. The problem is that I can't run for the time being. So the only thing I can do is walk. So I'm walking slowly. It is going to be a long road to recovery
• Wife started having a sore throat. Went to the clinic only to find out she is now Covid positive. Oh boy. So I am back again at the guest room.

Jan 9

• H2 got the all clear from the doctor to go to school. She is happy
• Wife is being annoying. Apparently everything I do is not good enough for her. I really sometimes feels frustrated at the situation. But I can't do anything because it is what it is. I just have to try and put my mask on

Jan 10

• Cats all had fleas so I brought them to the vet. I was worried about Patches being to aggressive. But it turns out he is a softy.
• One of my good friends is back after a month of hiatus. Hopefully they is here to stay. We had a good long talk last night and we clear the air about what is going on with them. I pray that is will be okay.

Jan 13

• Went 2.5 hours driving to get wife’s prescription. That was a journey. Good thing I could call friends to talk.

Freelance

John Cena can do no wrong 

What is it about?
A retired Marine came back to the job to be private security to a reported in a foreign land 

The Good
John Cena is very likable. the movie is okay but he makes it fun 
The action is not bad 

The Bad
The movie is all over the place. They didn't know who is the ultimate bad guy. But there is a bad guy in it 
Not sure about the Brie and Cena relationship. Were they trying to make that a thing 

The Ugly
Nothing much 

After Credits: Yes, Bloopers 

Verdict: It is one of those movie, you watch and you'll forget 

The White Lotus Season 2

The intro of this show rocks 

Premise: It starts with a death and a week before 10 people came to a beautiful resort in Italy for a vacation 

I wonder: Would I ever have the money to go holiday in a place like the White Lotus. These things look so expensive. But I do want to go to to Italy one day

Best character: Believe it or not, it is Jennifer Cooliage character followed by the two locals Mia and Lucia. Love to watch their stories above everyone else.

In the end: Well season 3 is a go with a lot of new characters. So can't wait for that.  

Fast Charlie

It was okay. 

What is it about?
Charlie who works as a fixer for a crime gang has one more score to settle 

The Good
The plot it very simple to understand. It should be a 6 episode miniseries than a movie 
Action is good enough since the hero is 70 years old 

The Bad
Does all old actors get their own action movie where they are the badass?
The ending was just too easy 

The Ugly
Nothing much

After Credits: No

Verdict: I was an okay movie, didn't complain

The Flash Season 9

Finally we reached the end 

Premise: After 8 years this season is just here as a goodbye tour. All your favorite characters are here to say goodbye and to wrap up any ongoing storylines 

The effects: I think because we've seen it for close to 170 episodes. The effects all looked cool but we are all used to it. Still fun to see him speed around. 

Goodbye Arrowverse: Episode 9 was actually the finale of the arrowverse where Green Arrow and The Flash team up one last time. That was bittersweet 

What's next? I don't think I'll watch this show again. It has great seasons and not so great seasons. It was great to know that they actually did an awesome Flash show and I don't think they can replicate this again.  

The Equalizer 3

Italy is sure is beautiful 

What is it about?
Robert Mccall is at the right place and the right time where he helps people who are helpless 

The Good
The story start great. The middle is slow and ended great again
This is more of a relaxing story than an action movie 
Is that Dakota Fanning? It is...

All of this just from some money scam 

The Bad
They still haven't explain that much about him. 3 movies we just know that he is a ghost 
The ending scene it was that great

The Ugly
Who would you think will win? John Wick or The EQ?

Verdict: If you watch the first 2. Watch this one 

The Last Thing He Told Me

A very interesting story but I wasn't satisfied 

Premise: Hannah is married to Owen and has a step daughter named Bailey. One day Owen disappear with the only message to Hannah is to protect Bailey

The Mystery: The show is only 7 episodes but you will get small snippets of clues for every end of the episode until the end 

Is the payoff good? Yes and no. Finding up what is wrong with the husband is good. But in the end we didn't get the ending that we wanted. There is a happy-ish ending but I wasn't satisfied 

Verdict: Its a good binge for a day. 7 episodes and you can get it done in an afternoon. I like it. Wish they showed more. The epilogue was too short  

Duck Dodgers Starring Daffy Duck

An acceptable platformer 

Genre: Platformer
Platform: Nintendo 64
Release Date: 2000

It's probably one of the obscure Daffy Duck characters but Duck Dodgers is some kind of space super hero. This game is a typical platformer of the 2000s. You need to go in an area and collect the atoms in which enough atoms will unlock the next stage (that is before you fight the boss for that stage). Controls are decent, platforming is decent. Overall is a decent experience. But after the first stage I was surprised that your atoms don't carry forward and you have to start back from zero. Plus the game only have to different move which is jump and kick. There are some powerups but it is not that memorable. It is probably a great game during that time. But it was okay for me. Overall C-Rank.

Week 1 - Not a good start to 2024

So trying something new here where I journal week by week on the things that happen to me. Well not everyday is something noteworthy that I can write about. Some days are just mundane stuff. But the first week is already done and dusted. Another 51weeks to go. It doesn't seem that long right? So let's begin

Jan 1

• So when we last left the year Baby the cat wasn't feeling well. Her seizures are back so she wasn't that well. Well the good news is, that it was only the seizure and now she is somewhat back to normal (or as normal as she can be) Got her back from the vet and we need to give her neuro meds every alternate day

• Gave H1 her yearly allowance for today. I decided to give more than $21 per month. So this time I gave her $26 per month (which adds up to $322). She was super happy that she is Rich now

In the world:
Mickey Mouse (Steamboat Willie) becomes public domain. Which straight away the first thing that people do is make a gory horror version of the IP. I wonder why is that. Because it is the only genre that you won't associate the character with. But it overplayed. Hope someone can revive this art style again into something more wholesome

• So my chest feels a bit tight. I am not feeling that well and I thought it was a normal viral infection that got

• Nope… it’s freaking Covid. It's a great way to start the new year. And it was not just me. H2 also have it so we are both bunking together at the guest room. She is having fun. She thinks it's like Mr Beast challenge. I am just feeling miserable due to my old body not handling this too well.

• Starting Super Mario Wonder. So far the game is fun. Not sure when can finish it. But start it slowly I guess

Jan 6

• Fever is finally coming down after 40c for two days. H2 is getting bored so we watched netflix and played the switch. I try to do classes in the morning because that when I feel the most energetic. At night it just gotten worse. Good thing is that food is ever coming. H1 step up and cook. Mostly italian but it is okay. Wife is not feeling good. Her body is hurting so I don't want her to do that much work. .But she seems annoyed at work and the house. I feel so bad

Overall Week 1 has not been a good week. This is unmemorable and hoping next week I will recover since school is starting soon.

Diddy Kong Racing

First game of the year. 

Genre: Racing 
Platform: PC
Release Date: 1997

So using my Odin pro to play old retro games. I played some Diddy Kong Racing. This game is really fun. Since this is a collection of Rare mascots the only characters from the DK series is only Diddy Kong. What makes this game unique than the rest of the normal kart series is that. There are 3 types of vehicles to choose from. There is normal kart, a plan and a hovercraft. The weapons are also have a cool upgrade mechanic where if you hit 3 of the same weapons in a row it will upgrade it to the ultimate version. So this game does offer a bit of strategy in it. The only problem I find is that a lot of the tracks are lock behind a progression system which is a bit confusing to navigate. After a while I didn't even know where should I go and I am missing a balloon to proceed further. That was a big negative in my book. Other than that it was a good game. I'll give it a C rank.

Ayn Odin Pro

 Finally I got it

I was eyeing this machine every since it went on the market. An build in Android handheld with controls and active cooling. The only thing I didn't like was the price. It was close to $270 plus shipping when it first came out and I don't want splurge on that much. I finally found someone willing to part with almost brand new for $195 which is a steal. So I am just primarily using this for emulation gaming. Nothing more. The controls are tight and responsive and the ergonomics are great. Battery life is also long too. So far best investment for this year 

Welcome 2024

So another year, another awesome time of blogging. 2023 has been an okay year of my blog. I wrote on time, I enjoyed writing a lot and everything was on track blog wise. So the only thing I think that I am going to is journaling 

• Journaling is going to be done by a week to week basis and depends on if there is anything going on that day. Most of my days are just routine and mundane
• Other than that the blog is just business as usual.

Lets the adventure which is 2024 begins.
