Day 67: Shit is hitting the fan

Like I said yesterday. The tender was a big deal. Came to the office this morning, got called by my Head of HR. She wants me to explain myself. Which i did. I didn't see what I did wrong since I follow what my boss ask me to do. She said don't apologize for something that you didn't do. She explain calmly and collectively. Had lunch with her after that. But really didn't have mood to work. When people get upset it does effect me even though I was not involved. Is like disappointing your parents or something like that. I do love working here but not sure if I can stay till the end of my probation. Sigh... Probably is going to be brought up in this Monday's sales meeting.

Day 66: Celebration time

I keep getting a day behind on my posts. Should pick up the pace. Today as I sit down in my office. I reflect what happen yesterday. As you know today is the month of syawal and it is the Eid celebration. So yesterday my company decided to throw a party of all of their clients for the past year. So the staff members are required to dress in their traditional clothes( I was no expectation). I was dress in maroon. And greet the guest as they come in. Since I've just been here 66 days I only deal with 3 projects so far. So there are a lot of people I don't know who are they. No worries just smile politely and shake their hands. The buffet was good but I didn't eat that much. Since people keep on aging that I am getting fat. So I really need to do something about it. The best part about the party there was a area where people can take pictures of themselves with props. So I got a couple of great pictures with my teammates, colleagues and even the ceo. After that j went home at 4. Really didn't came to the office yesterday 

On a side note. There was a project that we missed an important part of it. It may or may not cause us he project (only time will tell) but the boss (not my direct biss$ was quiet piss. Heads will probably roll today. Maybe not... Who knows. Another 8 hours till the weekend

Day 65: Good day to lay down

Did nothing awesome today. After work saw my good friend who used to work for the same company. Had Starbucks and did a lot of catching up

Day 64: 22 hours

Yesterday I knew I was in for a long day but I didn't expect it to be that long. Started from 830am till 530 am today. We have an important tender that we need to submit by this afternoon. My part is one of the most crucial part in the report since it was the technical side of things. I was quite frustrated since my boss just let go of what he was supposed to do to me. I can tell that I was so green doing his since I was working with another boss. I keep on getting scolded by her since my face I always like a deer getting hit with a car (something like this 😳) everytime she ask me a question. It didn't help because every time I handed something to her it needs to get redone again. 😩 sigh... Live and learn. 

Well it got me to appreciate what I do for a living. Things I learn from this experience 

1) Never do anything last minute

2) Always keep your files organized 

3) Never trust anyone to do your work for you

4) Develop a thick skin since you are going to be yelled to a lot.

5) Try not to eat spicy food since it can cause flatulance

We did it a lot of takeaway yesterday. Which was awesome. I did get a couple of winks under my desk... And the best part is today I can skip work since over work my 8 hours this morning.

Day 63: Indominous Rex has sounded

Yesterday got scolded by my other boss (not HOD) since I was so blur in doing the job. I didn't take it personally since I just got the job on Thrusday and suddenly I'm on technical lead. The thing is it's not my responsibility... But they sound serious... Honest to god if they are blaming me for their incompetence I hope we don't get the project. Since the person who supposed to push is pushing it to me to push other people... So I see how much I can do... And see what will happen Monday. Funny I don't feel scared at all... Is it normal?

Day 62: I am back and oh boy

Back after 1 week holiday. Man the shitload of work that is in my table. Everything needs to be done by Tuesday. There is still a lot more to be done. Last night came back around 12am. Slept at 1am. Still sleepy. Not sure should I sleep some more or get ready for work... Can't wait till next week

Ant-Man

Awesome way to end phase 2

For a movie that has a lot of problems in the production stage. It is nice to see that it all works out in the end. The movie was light hearted and yet the stakes where high enough. They have a training scene which I love. The comedy is gold. Douglas and Rudd goes well together. Can't wait to see what happens to ant-man in civil war. The last scene was a preview of Captain America 3 so if we missed it they will probably show it again next year.

Day 61: 1 week off...

Today the whole company was let out early to go back home for Eid. I left all my work stuff at the office and say I will be back next week Thursday. One week holiday I'm hoping to finish at least 2 games. Plus the commute is going to be a long one.

Day 60: I am already in my festive mood

Today I got to work at 12 and just slack around the office doing nothing. Since tomorrow is the eve of eid, the company is letting us off in the afternoon. The office is super cold than before. It probably due to the fact that it has 30% of the workforce on leave

Day 59: Today is the longest day in my life

Today I start work at 9am. And just arrived home at 1120pm. The day didn't start till 1pm. So there were meetings up the wazoo. I'm coming to work late tomorrow. Wanting to sleep. Zzzzzzz

Day 58: What just happen this morning

So a little background about the company. It used to be a financial company before our company took over. But there a still one of two staff of the financial company still working at the same floor as my company...

So backstory over. This morning found out meeting was cancel. So did my exam for the course I attended a couple weeks ago. Passed the test. Around 11-ish. A guy walks in and started to yell at this girl (that was not from our company). That guy started dropping F bombs here and there. Call her an idiot and other stuff that does not seem to be appropriate behavior. It turns out that guy was the ceo of that financial company. But that doesn't give him to excuse to treat his employee like crap...

People are human being and they probably had feelings. Probably in my opinion since he drives a big fancy car, he can treat everyone like dirt...

Got to leave early today since a friend needed a lift to get to an area that is on the way to my house... Tomorrow is going to be a long day. I got a meeting 3-6pm and a night meeting at 9pm... Shit 

Jurassic World

It doesn't have the same magical feeling of the first movie. But the magic is partly there. The starting was good. Feel asleep during the middle part. Pick up when the action start. Chris Pratt does an awesome job. The Indominus Rex is just a T Rex with long arms. The last part is like pacific rim without the robots.

Day 57: The CEO knows my name... twice...

The whole day today was spent in the hotel doing sales reviews and analysis. Trying to come up with the best possible way to get the numbers in. Good thing I am not a sales person... I can already see that I would die doing this job. Their numbers are staggeringly high (everybody needs to produce millions of dollars in revenue). Everything was ok until the CEO came in the room.... Suddenly a chill in the air was felt... Since the CEO questions were really hard to digest (it is very straight to the point). My CEO is extremely knowledgeable about the in and outs of the business which make bullshitting him a bit difficult...

Highlights of the meeting

Highlight 1:

Me: (Was just in my own thoguhts)
CEO: Called me by name and ask me to handle some tech stuff
Me: Snapped out of my dream and act all serious and nodded (epic fail

Collected money from everyone and went downstairs to pay for parking...

Highlight 3:

One of my boss said that I go home to early and everyone needs to give me more work... Epic funny

In the end we got vouchers to eat at the coffee house for free. One of my colleague didn't want to go so I took that voucher from her and now I got 2... Awesome day to end the awesome week.    

Day 56: A day on my own

A day without anyone is a good day. There are nothing much on my plate. So I spend the day doing notes for the exam. So the thing is most of the client managers are quite scared of tomorrow. It's the sales review meeting. It's where you need to say what's your prediction for the next 6 months. It's quite daunting since you are presenting in front of the big wigs. I'm probably there as a spectator.

Day 55: I got an eye irritation

My eye as red for a couple of days already. Today it go so red that my boss and HR literary kick me out of the office and ask me to go to clinic. After I went, it turns out my eyes were strained since too much watching the screen (damn you batman...). so I got 2 days off and will be back on Thursday. And on Thursday my boss won't be at the office. So I will have 3 days off.

On a side not, the doctor that gave me my medical checkup ask me how old I am.  And then she say "I have someone I want to introduce you with:.. That just epic...

Day 54: A full day of reading reports

Today from start till finish it was report, reports and more reports. I'm going to say today is the most productive day since I got in. Plus the jam from my home till the office didn't help my mood 

Batman Arkham Knight

Now the different format 

Story

Batman is back. After waiting years for Rocksteady's sequel. It finally arrives. In a nutshell is scarecrow and the Arkham knight have taken over Gotham and its up to batman to save the day. But this time he is not alone... Along with his adventures is a familiar face... One which I think it's a great edition to the game 

Joker is back. It turns out that Batman still has his blood in his system for the previous game and after mixing it scarecrow's toxin. Batman is seeing Joker wherever he goes. Batman saves the day in the end but at a high cost.

The good

The Batmobile 

I've been reading other reviews of how they think the batmobile sucks. But for me this is the best part of the game. The batmobile is a sports car that can convert to a tank. The batmobile gameplay divides it into a couple of parts

1) racing around Gotham 

2) fighting drones 

3) solving puzzles 

Every sequence has it merits and it's fun to play as the car. Plus pressing L1 will call it remotely and that super awesome 

Combat 

Combat is back in a big way. And it's still super awesome. Gone are the Titan infused bad guys. Replacing them are the equally annoying brutes which we need to beatdown a lot of times 

Gotham City

The city is big and there is a lot of stuff to do. From finding cases to slove, killing of APC's, disarming bombs and solve crimes just like batman does.

Being Batman

Well being Batman is fun and this games does it so well. 

The Bat Family

Using Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman does bring variety. The dual take downs are awesome when you get to pull it off.

The Final Act 

Awesome being the Joker and in First Person.

The Bad

The Bat Family

We can use them outside their respected play areas. Which kind of sucks. Robin is awesome since he as the shield

The Riddler Trophies 

Every Batman games has that. And every time it sucks balls. Finding all of them is damn hard...

Overall

The game is awesome but the challenges are hard as nails.

Status

Finished 95% of the game. Trying to finish parts of Gotham and riddler...

Day 53: Awesome day... After work

Today starts of with a tender meeting. Is basically a meeting where respected vendors come and try to understand the project. It turns out there was a lot of them out there. After that came back to the office and did some work there. Left early since the boss was not around. The best part was meeting some friends and have dinner with them and actually enjoying myself. That was great. Today's is a public holiday. And that's awesome 

Day 52: Back to work

Finally I'm back to work after a long time I was away from work. In Monday and Tuesday I attended a course and it turns out there is a test associated with the course. So today I spend the whole day studying. Good day so far until I got an email saying my boss wants a proposal done by tomorrow. I told my boss that I got approved leave tomorrow and I'll try to finish it by today.
