Day 31: Best day so far

Yesterdays post. Man I should really remember to do this all the time. But yesterday was great. Breakfast was great. I got ask a question by the boss but I couldn't deliver. But it was great since boss acknowledged me. After lunch had the company briefing. Ate cake . And then for the first time, a colleague ask me a question. I feel like I'm part of team now. At the end of the day showed boss my knowledge enchantment. Boss end it with a "good job". Made my day

Day 30: I love client meetings

Forgot to post yesterday. Finally I reach my first month of the job. I feel that I am nowhere close to be ready. But it's a process and I'm learning a lot. I do love going to client meetings since it gives me more chance to learn about my job scope. 30 days in and I'm still loving this job. Maybe it's because there is nothing coming my way yet.

Day 29: Good day

Today is literally me time. So I was alone the whole day. Did some knowledge management and some reading. Overall awesome day.

Day 28: Really...

Ok, today have a lot of things needs to get off my chest before tomorrow. First of all I think I don't like to hang with my own kind. Don't get me wrong, they are good people but there are some bad apples in the bunch which only job is to drag other people down the drain. Which I don't quite like. 

Another thing is don't wish for work since work will come to you at the last minute and you will go home late.. That's bad on my part

Lastly is that I know it's about chasing the all mighty dollar. But when you over promise everything starts to go down the drain. I'm not complaining but I pity everyone that is involve in making the project come through

My 2 cents... Tomorrow start the day all over again 

Day 27: The day was great. The weather not so

Today the usual meeting stuff. Nothing on my plate today but the week is still young. I did ask my colleague to teach me some Cantonese. That was fun. And less than 1 hour forgot about it. Need to ask him again tomorrow. Tomorrow is pay day... Woot

Aladdin

Genesis games are hard as nails

Overview: I've played this game close to 20 years ago. This game still holds up. It has solid platforming mechanics. Yet it's surprisingly difficult. This game is easily beaten in one sitting. But with the help of save states

What I liked: stages, bonus wishes, animations

What I didn't liked: final boss, flying carpet segments , constant dying .

Status: finish the game in under 2 hours

Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Game: Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Genre: Platformer 

Platform: Genesis

Overview: Now this how you make a sonic game. It has everything. Its like a different game all together. Most of the stages are build on speed rather than stupid platforming. Love every moment of this game. Makes me wonder how did people play this game during the days without savestates?

What I Liked: Stages, Speed, Boss fight, 3D stages,

What I Didn't Liked: Platforming, Casino Stages

Status: Finished the game. I was planning to play all of Sonic 2D collection. But since I cant play Game Gear on my SHIELD. So instead I'll be playing all of Genesis greatest hits

Day 26: Whole day of meeting

That's right meeting. It's just one meet but it's still on going forever. Which I learn a lot. Later in the evening, the HR manager call me in and ask how's my day. Should I tell her about the blog? Nah... Makes the title moot if I told her. I said that work was fine and I've been doing my own documentation to increase my knowledge. All good. Best part about today... Last working day of the week. Tomorrow I took leave for personal issues

Day 25: I'm slowly gaining their trust

My colleague are starting to trust me with work. They are slowly giving me small small projects and task. I'll do it to my best but at least I am learning. Great day today with chicken chop for lunch as usual.

Day 24: 45 Minutes...

That's how long I spend in the office. The day start off with meetings, meetings and a tech briefing. Gave one of my bosses a ride to the next meeting spot and she was very intrigue with my life story. I am really a man of mystery. Or more should I say misery... LOL. Anyway, the weather today sucks and most of the city was flooded. Hopefully tomorrow I get to spend time in the office.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Man this game sucks...

Game: Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Overview: All websites say this rank among the top 5 best genesis games. I've played it and all I can say that this game is super hard. For a hedgehog that can run fast, the running sequence is only 30% of the game. The rest are all navigating confusing levels and with controls that are not precise. I'm trying a new thing which is trying all sonic games and see which one is the best (2D only). So far I'm not impressed. Hope sonic 3 can fare better

What I liked: The running sequence 

What I didn't like: 70% of the level design, not that precise controls, cheap ass bosses. Really I don't know how did people win this game during their time. It's freaking hard

Status: Finish the game roughly 5 hours since I keep on dying

Day 23: Got my first proposal

Today I got my first responsibility. Need to do a client proposal. Good thing everything is in a templates so just copy and paste. So it's not from me actually. Oh well... As least they are trusting me to do stuff now. It's been more than 20 days. Tomorrow got more client meetings . Awesome

Day 22: Work is getting... Nowhere

Not that I'm complaining there is no work. Because there is an overwhelming amount of work no one seems to give me and proper training. So most training I have a usual on the job. Which I am not complaining. At least it's Friday (this post was late 2 days) 

Day 21: The calm before the storm

Everything was clear in the morning. Had a great breakfast. Everything was great. A colleague gave a a box full with delicious food. Met a new colleague (yay I'm not new anymore). Everything was cool until my boss arrived. Then there was a sea of meetings. It's started from 1pm till 7pm. What the fudge indeed. It turns out when a rival company becomes  liquidated, all of their rivals a bidding to get their clients. So everything is due by tomorrow. I so wish I could help.

Mortal Kombat X

Toasty...

Game: Mortal Kombat X

Genre: Fighting

Platform: PC

Overview: MK is back and looks gorgeous as ever. Gone are some crowd favorites (sektor, smoke) and 8 new kombatants join the fight. The story is surprisingly good for a fighting game. Netherealm has stick with the formula they know that could work. Each fighter has 3 different fighting styles. Which i think is a just a way for developers not to include all the special moves for one charcacter. Since some of the powers are a bit nerfed (Jacqui) and some just don't pack a punch. Overall the system add variety unless you play as Scorpion.

What I liked: Story, Fighting mechanics, interactive stages, Takeda and Cassie, Fatalities, The Krypt RPG ( reminded me of the old MK games) 

What I didn't like: Everything is a freaking DLC, characters from the story mode you can't play as even after beating the game, stupid final boss

Status: Played the story mode, saw all fatalities, Got all inventory for Krypt mode

Day 20: Great day of not working

Today like any other day, I did some self improvement on my skills. Attended a meeting and went home. Good day in my book. Nothing interesting happens since I am still alone

Day 19: Im all solo.. like Han

Today marks the day that I am alone in my department. To celebrate my solo endeavor, my colleague ask me to sit in for a client. So since I need to be technically savvy and be ready to answer any questions, I was psyche for him to arrive. But since I don't have any proper training yet I am really scared that I said the wrong thing. I ask a friend of mine to come in the meeting. Surprisingly, apart from a few product questions, I handle myself pretty good. Got all the necessary information and dotted my I and cross my T. Still another day of being by myself. I wonder what is install for me tomorrow.

Day 18: Aaaah Bees... Or maybe wasp

As you can see from the picture above that is not a type of fruit. That is in fact a swarm of bees nesting on some tree branches. It was quite scary since there were probably thousands of them. But now it's already 4pm and they are no longer here... For now. Tomorrow is going to be my solo day after 18 days here. Shit just got really real 

Pitch Perfect 2

Watch a sneak preview of this movie. This movie is better than the original in some many ways. There are more songs than the first. As many good comedies. The steaks are high but not that serious since you know that everything is going to work out in the end. The best part is the comedy since this movie is way funnier than before. Great to rewatch again.

Day 17: Mellow

Today's  the weekend. Just need to catch up on my post. Really need to post it on the day itself. Today everyone is doing their own thing which leaves me alone in my cubicle doing some catching up. Plus Friday we get a longer break so less work for me. Next week will be an interesting week since I'll be handling stuff solo for the first time. My department is going on a field trip and they didn't invite me. 

Day 16: Some days are just to tiring

I was too tired yesterday to write the post. Started the day late as we had a client visit. After that it was client meet non stop. We went from one area to the next. I realize that using your brain is much more tiring that using your body. But I could be wrong there. At least is Friday today. A couple of more hours left before the weekend 

Day 15: I'm enjoying the day so far

Today is a full out day. It turns out my connections is a great icebreaker. Today I went to more meetings. After lunch went for a briefing on a new leave system. In the evening another meeting but this time it come with free swag in a form of a shirt. Great and tiring day today. Good thing I am allowed to come late tomorrow

Day 14: A Tsunami of Work

After a great 4 day public holiday. It's back to work. I had a whole day meeting with a prospective vendor. All went well until my boss decided to leave me there by myself. Good thing I know what is being told and I know how to answer the questions. Managed to pull through so I am not that worried. They are here for a long time so this week is going to be a busy day... I miss the holidays 

Day 13: I'm slacking behind

This post was ment for yesterday. Today is a public holiday or Labour day for short. This is where everyone converge at one place to shop drop and roll. Yesterday was fun. I spend a day in the bosses shoes. Things I need to remember while in the job

1. Always bring your business cards

2. Make sure you have ample time before the meet

3. Never say no... Everything is a yes

4. Pronunciation is important when it comes to deals.

5. Always bring your bag of its after 12pm

Got to go home early yesterday and now enjoying 3 more days or rest and relaxation.
