Call of Duty black Ops III

It's been a while since I've played a recent Call of Duty

What is it about?
Set in the not so distant future, you control a black ops soldier who has been cybernetically enhance

What I liked?
- The future setting is quite nice. Weapons are not in current time.
- You have abilities like hacking and running on walls (never get to use them since we tend to forget)
- Your enhancement makes you see through walls which is cool
- 5 weapons with 4 different class upgrades.
- Ammo is abundant which is good

What I didn't liked?
- The story didn't really do it for me. In the end your main antagonist is a virus inside your head is a real drag.
- The weapon load out is small and you can't change it. Gone were the days of picking up weapons on the floor
- You are very fragile. A couple of  bullet hits and your shield will drop. You spend most of the time ducking to recover health
- Doesn't have any amazing set pieces like previous COD games
- Weapons are locked behind a level up system

Status: Finish the campaign mode on recruit  difficulty

Fun Factor: It's an ok game if you like Call of Duty

Spider-Man

My 300th game and it is one of the best superhero games I've played in a long time

Why this is a great open world game?
- Insomniac created a good representation of New York city where each section is divided with things to do.
- Things to do include research station, base challenges, crimes in the city, pigeon hunting and backpack collectiing
- Research stations have you doing different types of challenges from fixing the network to cleaning up the air in the sky.
- The way insomniac designs the things to do is the rules of three. They keep changing types of things to do so you won't feel bored.
Let's  list down the things that we can do
Base challengees
- The demons, prisoners, thugs, sables agents
Research centers
- Spider drones, network fixing, air purifying, steam fixing, soil testing, circuit building, spectrum analysis
City crimes
- Hostage situation, store robbery, drug dealings, snipers on the roof, bomb diffuse, kidnapping, car hijacking
Side missions
- The backpacks are scattered all around and are easy to find. Finding them is a delight and there are short stories behind them
- Taking picture around landmarks and other key locations.

Spider-Man as a character
- The animation on the character is flawless. The key aspect of the character which is the swinging is nailed perfectly.
- He sticks to the wall but by pressing R2. Spider-man can run which makes all the past Spider-Man a drag to play.
- There are stealth missions but he doesn't have the same finesse as Batman
- The combat is amazing and Spider-Man can use different gadgets to rack up more combo.
- Spider-Man has multiple suits each with it own special ability. My favorite suit is the classic suit with the web blossom ability.

Story
- From start to finish the game story give you a lot of insight on the motive of the bad guys and why Peter needs to stop them.
- There are suddenly breaks in becoming Spider-Man and where you need to be another different character
- This is by far one of the best superhero adaptation to date
- The ending is very sad but in the end it sets up for an interesting sequel

Status: My first game where I actually 100% it and got the Platinum trophy

Verdict: One of my contender for game of the year. A must play if you own a PS4

What is it about?
A father trying to find her daughter by using social media and the internet

The Good
Everything is told from the point of view of a computer screen. Which is amazing.
The story doesn't stop until the last minute. It will leave you guessing until the end.
The first 7 minutes shows lot of emotion.
The movie even shows the screen on screensaver mode.

The Bad
I didn't quite get what was the main problem of the bad guy. Needs another viewing.

The Ugly

Verdict: A must watch, clearly one of the best movies this year.

Steamworld Dig 2

Not a bad sequel

What is it about?
Rusty from the first game is missing and it's up to his cousin Dot to find him

What I liked?
Digging underground to find treasure.
The weapons and abilities you earn while exploring
The storyline is nothing special but it's easy enough to understand
The ending starts up with a sequel.

What I didn't liked?
Nothing much. The game is not perfect but it's just right

Status: Finish the game with only 36% completion

Fun Factor: A great game to play

Batman the Telltale Series

Play as Batman from a different angle

What is it about?
Play as Bruce Wayne and Batman where his choices effects the future outcome of the game.

What I liked?
Telltale take on Batman as he starts out on his first year as the Caped Crusader is a fresh story
The choices you make really effect the gameplay
Detective mode that requires you the solve the crime is surprisingly fun
The Batman suit and the Batmobile design looks futuristic

What I didn't liked?
The Telltale engine sucks balls. It's 7 year software that requires updating. The game engine causes clunky controls, which makes action feels janky
Act 3 and 4 was a bore and in slowly pick u steam in Act 5
Quicktime events sucks
Everyone seems whiny in this game

Status: Finished all the episodes. Got my second platinum

Fun Factor: A good game with a decent storyline. If you want to play as batman, better go to the Arkham series

The Equalizer 2

This movie is a slow burn



What is it about?
McCall is back helping people in need. But this time, it's personal.

The Good
The action is face paced and intense. It's also in short bursts.
There are a couple of small stories inside one big story. It's great seeing him help the little people.
You get to learn about McCall's past
The final act was like a video game

The Bad
I didn't quite understand the bad guy's motivation that started it all.
The story has moments where he was just sitting down and starring at blank space.
There are least stories where he helps random people to solve their problems.

The Ugly
Was the gang related graffiti story line was just an after thought. It seems that is stopped halfway

Verdict: A fun movie to watch where the action doesn't leave on you the edge of your seats

Need for Speed (2015)

A game with a lot of potential but there are a lot of flaws

What is it about?
You are a new street racer trying to build a reputation in the city.

What's great?
The racing is face paced and precise. Drifting handles like a dream.
Car upgrades and customization  is robust.
There are a lot of cars to choose from. But you can just use one car to win the entire race.
Racers ranges from Sprint, Circuit, and Drift with slight variations on those events.

What's not so great?
Where to start:
This game requires a constant online connection which really hampers the game. Once there is a bad connection you will boot out of the game which is insane. It takes 5 mins to load back into the race map.
Since its a shared online map, everyone will suddenly jump when you are currently racing which really makes racing experience shitty.
There is no pause button...why???
There is a story that is represented in video cut scene but the acting is so way over the top to the point of downright cringe-y. Robyn is hot though
The cop chases are slow. Once you have an ultra powerful car, you can easily outrun them.

Status: Finish the entire story mode.

Fun Factor: It's a fun racing game but the other things will make playing it a chore.
