Parks and Recreation Season 1

From the creator of The Office 

What is it about? In the town of Pawnee it follow Leslie Knopp and the office of Parks and Recreation. It is basically a single camera comedy (like the office) where we follow them like a documentary 

Is it funny? First season so it's too hard to tell. But they made 7 seasons of it. So I think give it time.  

Main goal: To build a park in a pit which I bet is going to be the 7 season finale of this show

Which characters I like: so far none yet. This season is not that funny as it supposed to be 

Mean Girls

Same movie new premise 

What is it about?
They remake the Mean Girl movie but now it's the form of a musical and I guess smartphones

The Good
Some songs are very catchy 
The story is more or less the same so there is nothing much to expect out of it
A lot of stars from the old Mean Girls movie came for a short cameo 

The Bad 
The story is a tad too long. 
Not sure that if in school people like this still exist but this movie is a sad in this current age. Everyone just want to fit in

The Ugly
Nothing much

After Credit: Yes

Verdict: If you like the old movie, you will enjoy this one I guess 

Walker Season 3

This show has made a fan 

Cliffhanger resolve: Yes. It takes a whole season to resolve the cliffhanger which it's always the case of Walker. It makes you invested in the whole chapter 

CW Drama: This is really a CW show. There is not that much action but more drama and I think I am ok with that. This season mostly focus on the Walker kids Auggie and Stella with the rest have their own issues to deal with.

Big Bad: The big bad is not revealed until 4 last episodes but before that you can figure out what is going on

Another cliffhanger: Yeap... to make a story there is another cliffhanger and I don't think this will get resolved anytime soon. Season 4 coming soon 

Reacher Season 2

You do not mess with the Special Investigators 

What is it about? Reacher is back after one member of his team is found dead thrown off the helicopter. He has to reunite back with his old unit to figure out what is going on. 

Reacher: That guy is something else. He is like a tank. Slow and yet powerful 

The Bad guy: Seeing them get beaten out like a pulp was so good. Reacher is still human but he cam take a punch

Breakout Kings: Shoutout to all the past actors who star in another great series. So far 3/6 of them are in this series 

Week 16 - A lot of things happen this week.

This week has been a busy week with things happening. There are a lot of things that I can't keep up. It was an up and down journey I guess 

Apr 14

• Took wife shopping. We had some Korean and ice cream. It was a perfect day for the both of us
• Bought me a new screen protector that has a one year warranty and a stand
• Came home wife showed H1 paintings to mom. And then when mom ask if H1 is studying for the rest of her exams. H1 said no which cause wife to be super annoyed which starts a chain reaction of she being upset.
• Went to mom in laws neighbors house for dinner. I wasn’t feeling it because we left H1 behind. Good thing my mom was there to handle her and good thing that I cooked butter chicken for her as well
• Came home late and fell asleep. Only to be woken up at 3:30am to the sound of wife crying and hurting herself again. Honestly I can’t handle this anymore. I keep praying it gets better only to end up worse. I really am sad. Sometimes I wish for something or someone better but I know I am here on this earth to take care of her till the end and that’s what I’ll do

Apr 15
• First day of 6 fasting in syawal. H2 wants to join. H1 join but as usual she didn’t have the morning meal
• Wife wants to start no carb diet. So I’m cooking meals without any carbs. It’s going to be a bit challenging
• H1 and wife are not talking to each other. So I do not know until when. Tired of handing these two
• Mom left. She is coming back next week

Apr 16
• Wife is still upset with H1. So not sure if yesterday she dragged met to her to ask her to apologise. Hope it works I guess

Apr 18
• H1 finished her IGCSE Art project. Finally after 3 months she finished all 12 of her drawings
• Brought her to eat her favorite fried chicken. Bought a lot of chicken

Apr 19
• Today wife has her knee and back operation. We came so early but only to found out that our operation has been push back to the evening. So we had breakfast first and then just waited until 3pm. After that the operation only lasted 45 minutes. Wife was sedated but after the operation she was okay.
• We left for home but it was raining heavily. A tree fell down and blocked the road so we had to find another route. I decide to go to my Mother in Law house to see the baby.

Apr 20
• My cousin came today at the house. She and her husband got invited to do Hajj so we just gave some advice of things to pack and do once you are over there.
• This is the biggest story so far I have. So disclaimer before reading this. Your Uncle on your Nana side is a douchebag and asshole okay and you know how problematic he is. So lets see last couple of weeks police came to Nana house and raided his laptop and other stuff due to his business. Well today we found that that he was making forged fake documents and the kicker is he asked her mom. My mother in law. Your grandmother to sign it. So on a scale of 1-10 how bad is this case going to be 13. Well talking to the police (which is also a cousin of wife) That my brother in law cheated a guy and took a lot of money from him. So unless he dropped the charges (which I think will require Brother in law to pay back the amount and then some) the police is going to have to press chargers. By pressing chargers my mother in law is looking for around 4 years of jail time. Yikes. I will keep myself reprise of this situation but as for now. Wife is super pissed off and I don't want to let her go extremely pissed off. It is not going to be a pretty picture.

Rally Challenge 2000

Arcade racing games in the old days really have bad design

Genre: Racing 
Platform: Nintendo 64
Release Date: 2000

Well another racing game that is just easy to control and fun to play (sort of) in the Nintendo 64 era. The problem with the old school design is that they put a timer for each checkpoint which makes the gameplay very frustrated. You have 30 seconds for each checkpoint and you need to precise. That's about it. The game have the usual troupes like realistic cars, tracks all over the world. This is a good game for an afternoon. Overall B rank 

Mr Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie

Monk is back in a very weird future 

What is it about?
Everything has change and Monk is in a utter state of depression. It will take all his will to live to solve one more last case 

The Good
Everyone is back except Sharona. But she is shown is a flashback 
The Pandemic really shows how this is Monk's world and we just live in it
There are a lot of funny Monk moments and everyone got their time to shine even if it just for a while 
It opens the door for a future show Maybe?

The Bad
The case is not that great but this is close to home so I get it 
Depressed Monk is very sad and I don't like it 

The Ugly
Suicide is not a pretty picture no matter how you look at it. 

After Credits: Yes

Verdict: A great end for Monk. If you love the series you should watch this movie 

Monk S8

The Final Season

Mr Monk tie up loose ends: This season shows everything about Monk that needs tying up. Every character needed a story has been told.

Say goodbye: It is always hard but I see that this is 125 episodes of great television. You can watch this again and again and you will be entertained 

Lot's of milestones: Monk got back his badge, celebrated his Birthday, be a best man

The end: It was a great ending and a happy one. Monk lives on... The best part is. They made a movie out of it which I am going to review next 

Week 15 - Eid Celebration

So Alhamdullilah that Ramadan has come and went. I hope that all my good deeds are accepted. And now it is time for Eid. This week has been an interesting week. I enjoyed myself hanging out with my cousins and my mom 

Apr 7
• after 50 days mama came back. Miss her a lot
• Had to cook a lot because the whole dad in law family is coming. We made masak lemak telur ayam, ayam kicap, Sayur campur and sambal. It was lovely hanging out with the family

Apr 8
• H2 and mama left for kampung. We will see them on the first of Raya
• Run errands with wife. The roads were empty. The mall was empty. We had iftar outside and wife bought 15000 worth of gold.

Apr 10
• Today is Eid. So Wake up as usual but this time we need to get everyone ready since we are supposed to leave by 6:30. But since these are my girls we are talking about we ended up leaving by 7. The trip was fast with minimal traffic. Arrive there around 8:05 and was greeted by H2
• After greeting my mom and everyone who is there we went for Eid prayers and after that came back and eat. But before we came back everyone took a lot of pictures that we were there for 20 mins just taking pictures.
• First house is my old late grandfathers house. Ate some food and then just hang out with cousins. Mom has a house with Aircond so the family hang out there. We decided to go out to visit our other relatives. My uncle came just before we left so we had to wait a while
• Second house is my cousins house. Just the same thing where we go. Say hi and eat
• Third house is my uncle house. He is close to 90 but his mind is still sharp as a tack. He also has an overweight cat that apparently likes to sit on H2
• Fourth house is my other uncles house. I like this house because they don’t serve typical Eid food. We had some ayam penyet and soup. My cousin is going for haj so I invited them over to compare notes
• Fifth and last house is my other uncles house. They are the coolest because all of the relatives are great to be around with. But I hang out with my wife because she can’t climb up the steep and narrow steps
• Came home and then me H1 and wife left back home. We arrive close to 10pm

Apr 11
• Wake up this morning and decided to go back to see mom because they are doing a open house Eid celebration.
• So what happened was the the family next door which was my late aunt kids (so my cousins) were supposed to do a potluck and invite all our extended family to come and eat. But what happen is that they invited their side of the family rather than invite our side. So when we came there food was almost finish our side of the family had to cook for their guest. They didn't do any food at all. It turns out we got scammed into doing an open house for them. I still manage to eat a plate of curry mee so I am good
• Took pictures with the whole family before some of them had to leave to go back to their husbands hometown.
• H2 found friends and H1 found a friend. So they both didn't want to go home just yet. H1 friend offered to send her home tomorrow but because we didn't know the girl we said no. So what we did is was stayed one night. The problem is that we didn't bring any clothes so we just borrowed clothes from our cousins

Apr 12
• Woke up to pray at 4:30am in the morning. It was very quiet. I like the rural life.
• After prayers I made breakfast for everyone. They seem to be amazed that I can cook and enjoy my cooking
• By 9 we packed and we were ready to go home. The roads were not that bad. Came home and everyone went to sleep. • Did laundry and some classes and had Mcd for lunch.

Apr 13
• Today we went for Chinese food for lunch. It was so delicious
• Went to Mom in Law house to take some pictures and hang out  

It was a great week for me. I love catching up with my cousins and eating a lot of great food. Next week my wife will do another operation. Other than that. Not sure what will happen. We will just wait and see I guess 

I.S.S

This is more phycological thriller than horror 

What is it about?
The Us and Russia are in a war with each other and I.S.S astronauts needs to fight to take control of the station 

The Good
Space looks beautiful. I love seeing people float in space

The Bad
The story is unmemorable and it quite boring. 

The Ugly
This show didn't resolve anything. It ends so unsatisfying 

After Credits: No

Verdict: Skip this. No worth the watch 

Walker Season 2

More family drama then action 

Previously on: So basically they continue the survillance story from season 1.

The drama: So there is a new family feud for the Walkers in the form of the Davidsons family. The backstory seems forced but it takes 20 episodes to settle the whole event

Saying goodbye: Walker old partner is leaving and there is a new partner coming in at the tail end of the show. I like the new partner better since she is funny 

Cliffhanger: Yes, it end in a bad cliffhanger since the there is a thread wasn't solved 

Anyone but you

This is more a reverse rom com 

What is it about?
Two people who met each other but hated each others guts need to tolerate each other for a wedding

The Good
The story is interesting since they started hating each other before things get better 
A lot of funny moments like laugh out loud funny 
Sydney Sweeney has that cute girl next door feel 

The Bad
It doesn't shows what happens in the end with them.
Really rich people problems in this wedding so this situation is unlikely to happen  

The Ugly
Nothing much

After Credits: Yes

Verdict: I like this movie. A must watch 

Week 14 - Last week of Ramadan

So less than 10 days left before we celebrate Eid. So that is something. As for me its just as normal. Nothing much is going on which for me is good day

Mar 31
• I talked about death with wife. It triggered her badly and she went on to a spiral and didn’t leave the room for 24 hours. I had to get burgers for break fast and eat it in her room. This is among the reason why I can’t be myself around her. Everything I say she will take it to heart. Which makes me sad. So I have to learn to think first before talking

Apr 1
• manage to bring wife shopping and she bought a cream dress. Now all that’s left is me I guess.
• H1 went for an iftar with friends at the mosque. She came home late. It was a good memory for her

Apr 2
• H1 invited her friends over for iftar. I cooked a lot of Japanese food. It was good and her friends had fun

Apr 3
• had to go to 2 different hospitals for doctors appointments. H2 is tagging along. H2 needs to be medicated same as H1 due to the changes in hormone. Nothing to serious. It’s just a transition phase
• Went to another hospital where wife needs to do another operation on the 19th since the previous operation didn’t stick. She is not looking forward for that one
• Wife best work friend came to break fast with us. I made some pasta and brought him to the mosque. We end up talking until late

Apr 4
• went to mom in laws house to find a shirt that matches the girl. Found something yellow rather than cream.
• Wife brought the family members to the mall and bought them new clothes as well as treated them to food for iftar. Spend a fortune. It’s for a good cause
• My burgers that I won were finally delivered to the mosque for everyone to enjoy. Job well done finally.
• I was disappointed at my best friend decision but in the end they made the right choice (either that or they are lying to me but there is nothing much I can do about it)

Apr 5
• Got an unauthorize use of my credit card. So had to call the bank to cancel my card

Apr 6

• Today the cleaners are in the house for a deep clean
• Brought wife out. She wanted to go shopping but because it was the last days of Ramadan that means a lot of places are full with people and the roads are jammed with people going back home. In the end we just hang out around town

So that's about. Next week will be Eid... let's see what this is stored for me and the family

Monk S7

 One more season of fun 

Milestones: Monk finally reach his 100th case in this season. This show is forever evergreen. You can enjoy it no matter how old you are. I am going to ask my daughter to watch this after she finish her exams 

Saying goodbye: We lost two characters this season. Dr Kroger (who the actual actor died) and Kevin (Mr Monks neighbor) both will be missed 

Mr Monk Goes Underwater: Best episode of this season because Monk hates close spaces. I found that the more uncomfortable the episode is, it will be the funniest one 

Ending: It ends not in a cliffhanger but it sets up next season which is the 8th and final season. Everything will be wrapped up. 

Week 13 -Wife is in a bad mood (again)

 This week has been a up an down week but ended not so great 

Mar 24

• Wife was in a bad mood today 😞. She locked herself in the room only to come out just for iftar.
• H1 and H2 got scolded by her. H1 because she being rude and selfish and H2 was being mean to her friend. She was angry at me as well but I don’t know why

Mar 25
• Today made bubur lambuk for the first time. It turned out great
• Aad that wife was still in her moody ways

Mar 28
• Today wife is a cheery mood because we get to go Eid shopping. She got shoes, clothes and as well cookies. Good for me too

Mar 29
• H1 last day of high school. After this is O levels
• Brought H1 to go buy clothes for Eid

Mar 30
• H2 had iffar at the mall with her classmates. H1 is the chaperone.
• Went to the same shop for Eid shopping
• Wife back is still giving problems

Overall this week has been a terrible week for wife. I am okay. I choose not to get it to me. Hopefully next week will be better

The Bricklayer

A new genre of film. 

What is it about?
A genre of film where a person who has a normal job but is secretly he used to be an ex spy and now the government needs him for an off the book mission which has the fate of the world in the balance. 

The Good
The Action is not bad
Nina Dobrev is good in this
The plot is simple enough to understand 

The Bad
The story cut abruptly all of the sudden
He doesn't have a certain set of skills. But he did use his bricklaying tools 

The Ugly
Nothing much. It is a run of the mill action movie 

After Credits: No

Verdict: There are better movies out there

Week 12 - The house is open for a week (almost)

2nd week of Ramadan. It is mostly just my routine but this week we were visited by a lot of people. Wife became very popular. Which is good. As long as she is happy

Mar 17

• Did an error in judgment by doing 6 hours of classes or 12 classes back to back. Was exhausted after that and took a 2 hour coma nap
• Got upset with the girls by not having any common sense when seeing the trash was full
• Family drama. So my brother in law just got a baby but his wife refuse to give the picture of the baby to the family group. So now the sisters are pissed at him. Hence the family drama. I am fasting if not I'll be enjoying this with some popcorn

Mar 18
• So today sister in law was upset crying because of yesterdays issue. My wife then tease about it in our whatsapp group which cause my father in law to back up my brother in law wife. So that was a mistake No everyone is more upset
• Wife students wanted to come and iftar with us. But due to some miscommunicatoins. They were supposed to bring the food and I cook the rice. But they didn't bring anything. The good thing is that I cooked to big batches of pasta carbonara. So they ate that. In the evening I brought the boys to go pray and the girls made donuts and play with H1 and H2. I slept at 1030 while they left at 12

Mar 19
• Wife did a procedure for her legs. They had 3 more shots on her knee and both of her heels. Now she can't walk that properly which is going to be a bummer for a while.

Mar 21
• Another set of students came for iftar. This time it was her final year project students. I cooked some prawn and fish but it turns out that they don't eat seafood. Good thing that they brought their own chicken. After the meal they stayed to finish their project
• It is Thursday so that means H2 will always cry due to the students being too loud. I try giving her advice on how to handle it but she doesn't know how to handle it well. She came home screaming and yelling. Sigh. She said tomorrow she wants me to pick her up early after she finish her exams.

Mar 22
• Mom in law maid finally ran away. She only lasted less than 60 days. She was too tired being scolded by mom so she made a story that she is sick and she needs some time off with her cousin. She said she
• Today hosted iftar for mom in law family. Cooked my mom old recipe of yellow curry. It was good.

Mar 23
• Today wife decided to bring us clothes shopping for Eid. It is a staple of every year where we need to get new clothes. I for one am okay with just wearing what I currently have right now. We went to the city center. Stayed at one shop for 3 hours plus and at least they bought one piece each. H1 didn't want to join us so we didn't buy anything for her.
• Wife cousin came to with her nephew to break fast. We came home like 30 minutes before break fast and H1 manage to cook us some oilo.
• This morning I went for my neighborhood meeting trying to organize an Eid celebration to welcome out new neighbours. After we agreed on the cost and everything we got a couple of text messages from people who didn't join the meeting giving us their grievances. They don't want to pay that high of a price which frankly seem to me of not that high since it covers food and the tent. Our neighbourhood leader said just do it. If they don't want to pay then don't come

Hope Week 3 will be a more quieter week. I am way behind on reading so hopefully I can catch up

Monk S6

 This show I think has reach its peak

It's already been 6 season: Really what is there to write about. Monk continues to be a great show to watch. It is funny, witty and it always makes you feel happy inside 

2 part season finale: That was surprisingly good. It ended on a great note. Plus we can see Monk when he is in trouble by the law. 

Natalie: I think I like her more than Sharona. Eventually she feels like more than just his assistant. She feels like family 

2 more to go: And then we can watch the movie

What is it about?

There are a lot of terms that I don't quite understand

Verdict: I love these kinds of movies. Really should watch 

Walker Independence

How to make a western with a CW budget 

What is it about: A spinoff from the Walker series where it shows the first Walker try to start a new life and solve the mystery in a town called of Independence

Western lite: There are a lot of western troupe but this is a CW show. So mostly is drama and less on what make a western great. But the drama is not bad... But there are no big action western set pieces

Cast: The characters are all colorful in their own way. Everyone has their own back story and 13 episodes is enough to cover everyone in it 

Ending: This show got cancelled which is too bad since it ended in a cliffhanger but they did solve some of the mystery but there are other things that happen. Oh well... that's tv for you 

Week 11 - First week of Ramadan

So it's that time of year where we fast for a month and be more spiritually involved. I love this month. Best time to get close to God. But not best time for my classes. Since I am prioritizing my spiritual deeds rather than my classes. So that sucks but hopefully I can cover next month

Mar 10
• Did 10 classes back to back. Was so tired
• Wife’s students ask to go watch Kung Fu Panda 4. Fell partly asleep in the middle of the movie
• Hangout for tea with students
• Did shopping for tomorrow Ramadan
• Super tired but need to attend neighbourhood meeting for the Eid celebration
• Slept and woke up late

Mar 11 🌙
• Today be a guest speaker at wife’s lecture
• First day of Ramadan and first day of Terwaih. Let’s try to get a full 30 days

Mar 13
• Wife is feeling down today. I am sad but I’ll record her sadness knowing that I am always going to be here. It does take a toll on me but I think I manage to make myself happy as much as I can

Mar 14
• H1 had her mock art exam. It was supposed to be 4 hours today and 4 hours tomorrow but she did 8 hours the whole day. Plus she didn’t ate anything. So she was a bit cranky
• Someone hit my car today. It was a good thing we were at a traffic stop. So it’s a short bump. I went out and checked there were no damage to the back so I just let him go. No harm to fowl
• My best friend and I talked a lot. Which is nice. Miss those days where we can just talk

Mar 16
• H1 O-Levels has officially started. Good luck to her. First paper is Language Oral

Mar 17
• today did some classes but in the afternoon wife asked to bring her to the mall. Did some shopping for H1 and went back
• Wife was upset that I look a bit too young for my age 🤣. That something I can’t help

So that's this week. Very uneventful which I like. Let's hope that next week will also be more on less the same
