Week 13 -Wife is in a bad mood (again)

 This week has been a up an down week but ended not so great 

Mar 24

• Wife was in a bad mood today 😞. She locked herself in the room only to come out just for iftar.
• H1 and H2 got scolded by her. H1 because she being rude and selfish and H2 was being mean to her friend. She was angry at me as well but I don’t know why

Mar 25
• Today made bubur lambuk for the first time. It turned out great
• Aad that wife was still in her moody ways

Mar 28
• Today wife is a cheery mood because we get to go Eid shopping. She got shoes, clothes and as well cookies. Good for me too

Mar 29
• H1 last day of high school. After this is O levels
• Brought H1 to go buy clothes for Eid

Mar 30
• H2 had iffar at the mall with her classmates. H1 is the chaperone.
• Went to the same shop for Eid shopping
• Wife back is still giving problems

Overall this week has been a terrible week for wife. I am okay. I choose not to get it to me. Hopefully next week will be better

The Bricklayer

A new genre of film. 

What is it about?
A genre of film where a person who has a normal job but is secretly he used to be an ex spy and now the government needs him for an off the book mission which has the fate of the world in the balance. 

The Good
The Action is not bad
Nina Dobrev is good in this
The plot is simple enough to understand 

The Bad
The story cut abruptly all of the sudden
He doesn't have a certain set of skills. But he did use his bricklaying tools 

The Ugly
Nothing much. It is a run of the mill action movie

Verdict: There are better movies out there

Week 12 - The house is open for a week (almost)

2nd week of Ramadan. It is mostly just my routine but this week we were visited by a lot of people. Wife became very popular. Which is good. As long as she is happy

Mar 17

• Did an error in judgment by doing 6 hours of classes or 12 classes back to back. Was exhausted after that and took a 2 hour coma nap
• Got upset with the girls by not having any common sense when seeing the trash was full
• Family drama. So my brother in law just got a baby but his wife refuse to give the picture of the baby to the family group. So now the sisters are pissed at him. Hence the family drama. I am fasting if not I'll be enjoying this with some popcorn

Mar 18
• So today sister in law was upset crying because of yesterdays issue. My wife then tease about it in our whatsapp group which cause my father in law to back up my brother in law wife. So that was a mistake No everyone is more upset
• Wife students wanted to come and iftar with us. But due to some miscommunicatoins. They were supposed to bring the food and I cook the rice. But they didn't bring anything. The good thing is that I cooked to big batches of pasta carbonara. So they ate that. In the evening I brought the boys to go pray and the girls made donuts and play with H1 and H2. I slept at 1030 while they left at 12

Mar 19
• Wife did a procedure for her legs. They had 3 more shots on her knee and both of her heels. Now she can't walk that properly which is going to be a bummer for a while.

Mar 21
• Another set of students came for iftar. This time it was her final year project students. I cooked some prawn and fish but it turns out that they don't eat seafood. Good thing that they brought their own chicken. After the meal they stayed to finish their project
• It is Thursday so that means H2 will always cry due to the students being too loud. I try giving her advice on how to handle it but she doesn't know how to handle it well. She came home screaming and yelling. Sigh. She said tomorrow she wants me to pick her up early after she finish her exams.

Mar 22
• Mom in law maid finally ran away. She only lasted less than 60 days. She was too tired being scolded by mom so she made a story that she is sick and she needs some time off with her cousin. She said she
• Today hosted iftar for mom in law family. Cooked my mom old recipe of yellow curry. It was good.

Mar 23
• Today wife decided to bring us clothes shopping for Eid. It is a staple of every year where we need to get new clothes. I for one am okay with just wearing what I currently have right now. We went to the city center. Stayed at one shop for 3 hours plus and at least they bought one piece each. H1 didn't want to join us so we didn't buy anything for her.
• Wife cousin came to with her nephew to break fast. We came home like 30 minutes before break fast and H1 manage to cook us some oilo.
• This morning I went for my neighborhood meeting trying to organize an Eid celebration to welcome out new neighbours. After we agreed on the cost and everything we got a couple of text messages from people who didn't join the meeting giving us their grievances. They don't want to pay that high of a price which frankly seem to me of not that high since it covers food and the tent. Our neighbourhood leader said just do it. If they don't want to pay then don't come

Hope Week 3 will be a more quieter week. I am way behind on reading so hopefully I can catch up

Monk S6

 This show I think has reach its peak

It's already been 6 season: Really what is there to write about. Monk continues to be a great show to watch. It is funny, witty and it always makes you feel happy inside 

2 part season finale: That was surprisingly good. It ended on a great note. Plus we can see Monk when he is in trouble by the law. 

Natalie: I think I like her more than Sharona. Eventually she feels like more than just his assistant. She feels like family

Walker Independence

How to make a western with a CW budget 

What is it about: A spinoff from the Walker series where it shows the first Walker try to start a new life and solve the mystery in a town called of Independence

Western lite: There are a lot of western troupe but this is a CW show. So mostly is drama and less on what make a western great. But the drama is not bad... But there are no big action western set pieces

Cast: The characters are all colorful in their own way. Everyone has their own back story and 13 episodes is enough to cover everyone in it 

Ending: This show got cancelled which is too bad since it ended in a cliffhanger but they did solve some of the mystery but there are other things that happen. Oh well... that's tv for you 

Week 11 - First week of Ramadan

So it's that time of year where we fast for a month and be more spiritually involved. I love this month. Best time to get close to God. But not best time for my classes. Since I am prioritizing my spiritual deeds rather than my classes. So that sucks but hopefully I can cover next month

• Did 10 classes back to back. Was so tired
• Wife’s students ask to go watch Kung Fu Panda 4. Fell partly asleep in the middle of the movie
• Hangout for tea with students
• Did shopping for tomorrow Ramadan
• Super tired but need to attend neighbourhood meeting for the Eid celebration
• Slept and woke up late

• Today be a guest speaker at wife’s lecture
• First day of Ramadan and first day of Terwaih. Let’s try to get a full 30 days

Mar 13
• Wife is feeling down today. I am sad but I’ll record her sadness knowing that I am always going to be here. It does take a toll on me but I think I manage to make myself happy as much as I can

Mar 14
• H1 had her mock art exam. It was supposed to be 4 hours today and 4 hours tomorrow but she did 8 hours the whole day. Plus she didn’t ate anything. So she was a bit cranky
• Someone hit my car today. It was a good thing we were at a traffic stop. So it’s a short bump. I went out and checked there were no damage to the back so I just let him go. No harm to fowl
• My best friend and I talked a lot. Which is nice. Miss those days where we can just talk

Mar 16
• H1 O-Levels has officially started. Good luck to her. First paper is Language Oral

• today did some classes but in the afternoon wife asked to bring her to the mall. Did some shopping for H1 and went back
• Wife was upset that I look a bit too young for my age 🤣. That something I can’t help

So that's this week. Very uneventful which I like. Let's hope that next week will also be more on less the same

 

Kung Fu Panda 4

Inner Peace... Dinner Please.. 

What is it about?
Po needs to choose a new dragon warrior successor and he is having problems letting it go

The Good
Story is straight forward
There are some funny moments

A lot of camoes under utilize. They are just there for show without any substance 
The final fight wasn't that great.

Verdict: If you love the series. This movie is a must watch 

Monk S5

This show keeps getting better and better

Feel good: This is my feel good show. You can watch this and always have a great feeling which I enjoy 

Some couple of revelations: Monk met his dad. A couple of new job he tries and a new phobias 

Mr Monk and the Leper: This hands on got to be the funniest episode of all time. I couldn't stop laughing on how funny this is 

Ending: Monk now doesn't end on a cliffhanger like before. All episodes are mostly stand alone which is good. 3 more seasons left

Week 10 - Goodbye to toxic people

This week has been a okay week overall. Besides fighting with this hacker friend. I don't know if I can call her a friend since she is being very dodgy and I don't think I should give any more money without getting some sort of truth. So it hit me this week that I think I should start back from 0. I've done it before and I will do it again. But things can change. You never know

• Today wife's friends came and visit. They are all friends since 1995. Brought a lot of desserts and share a lot of memories. I was there but I didn't make that much noise because I want wife to enjoy her time with her friend. They haven't seen each other for years.

Mar 4
• More visitors it seems. Wife students came here from 12pm till 8pm. They ate lunch, played a lot of games with the girls and left
• In the evening our neighbor came to visit her as well
• She post of FB about how no one from the office checked up on her. Someone screenshot the post to her post and she got a long winding text on how her boss is pissed at her. What she did was just block the boss until it’s time she gets back to work

Mar 6

• Got into a fight with my hacker friend. She gaslights me a lot so… I think I’m going to change my strategy now. Clearly she needs me more than I need her. So I’ll just going to limit my interactions with her and just do my own thing. Finish paying of my debt and then we see if I want to continue with the project or not.
• Brother birthday is today. He is 41. We have grown up to a time where we don’t celebrate birthdays anymore. I never celebrated his birthday that’s for sure but I hope he will buy a cake for the kids.
• H2 told me that school is organising a potluck tomorrow for Ramadan at 7pm. So I had to cancel all my classes and bring her to the mall. She wants to buy a goodie bag for her friends. She is quite rich. Very surprising 🤣

Mar 7

• Fight between hacker friend escalated. She doesn’t trust me with her information so this is impossible. I think it’s time to pull the cord.
• Went to the hospital the whole day. Came back at 4 and went to eat Korean with H1. H2 went back with her best friend.

Mar 8

• I decided to say goodbye to my hacker friend. She seems to be okay with it. Well it’s okay. As they say. Not my rezeki
• H1 volunteered at an orphanage today. Proud of her

• While waiting for my next class to come I thought I just want to rant that something I feel that my life is not as great as I imagine. I have wife problems, kid problems, money problems (of course). I can''t go see The Eras Tour since I don't have tickets . Life is just a string of bad luck again and again. But after taking a deep breathe and opening my eyes. I think I am the luckiest person ever. I think that rather than be ungrateful for the things I don't have. I should be grateful for the things I do. A loving family. A job that doesn't pay much but it does give me some money. Awesome friends... The most important thing is time.. I have time. People my age have to grind just to have a better life in the future. I to have to grind but I think I have the time to do the things that I want if I really wanted too.. So I'll end this rant today with the advice that don't worry about the things that you don't have... There is always something better in the horizon.

So next week will be the start of Ramadan and that means that more religious activities and avoid doing bad stuff. I will try my best.

Twisted Metal

Is it just me or videogame series are getting good

Premise: In the not so distant future. The catastrophic event which cause all cities to be walled up. But there are people who deliver packages who are called milkmen. This is a story of one of them 

True adaptation: Yes they have all the famous Twisted Metal characters. This game is very old. Like close to 30 years and the game have no plot but they manage to make 10 episodes captivating for an audience 

Car combat: Episode 10 where we have a full car combat scene like the game. Most of this series is establishing characters and locations all over the country. They made a good way in explaining why things are the way they are so which is good

Cliffhanger: Yes a cliffhanger ending which sets up the real Twisted Metal in season 2. A lot of unanswered questions and probably won't get resolve anytime soon.  

Pilotwings 64

This game test your patience 

Genre: Action (Simulation) 
Platform: Nintendo 64
Release Date: 1996

This game was the launch title for the Nintendo 64. The game premise is simple. You guy your character to end landing site. There are 3 different types of equipment you need to master. A glider, a jetpack and a rotary plane. Wind plays a factor in controlling the glider since you can lose speed if you hit an obstacle. The jetpack is fast but you have problem of getting a good landing and also you need to make sure that your fuel gauge is in check. The plane is the hardest to control since you need the right amount of traction to land the plane. That's about it. The game starts from easy to super difficult. I only finish the easy part and after that I stopped playing. This game would be a great game if I have the patience but sadly I don't. So I give this game a C-Rank. If you have the time and a N64 lying around. Should try it. 

Ferrari

This is not Ford vs Ferrari

What is it about?
The trouble history on Enzo Ferrari and his company 

The Good
I have no idea. The subject matter they dealt is Ferrari himself rather than the cars. So depends on how you look at it 
The cars. They look beautiful 

The Bad
The ending. Didn't resolve anything that much 
The story is a lot of drama. It is not like Ford vs Ferrari

Top Chef Season 20

The best competition just became worldwide

What is it about? The past winners and runners up of Top Chef from all over the world compete in a competition to see who is the best chef from the world 

Food: The food this season is just above and beyond the previous season. But we can clearly see who are the best chefs in the competition 

The Setting: London has a lot of different food diversity. I want to go to London one day and just spend 2 weeks exploring all the food places. One can dream 

Winner: The finale was a bit a letdown because you already know who won (the person I like) but you can see there are mistakes made by other chefs 

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Good riddance to the DCEU

What is it about?
Aquaman has to juggle being a dad, husband, king and son while taking care of a new threat in the ocean

Action is okay I guess
There are some funny scene

This movie is boring.
It's like two different movies, from something serious to a buddy cop movie

Monk S4

I think this is the best season yet 

What is it about? Every episode Monk gets himself in weird situations that test his fears. Sometimes the cases are just downright funny

Natalie and Monk: I think they have a great partnership. Both of them compliment each other and they both respect each other that they will be there for each other 

Best episodes: Mr Monk Goes to the Office, Gets Drunk, Big Reward and Jury Duty. 

Ending: No cliffhanger but they did say that this show is renewed for two more seasons. 

Week 9 - Recovery Time

So wife is back from the hospital and this the long 6 weeks of recovery. She still can't put pressure on her left that much so getting around the house is challenge. She can't stand or sit down for too long. Doctor ask her not to tire herself.

Feb 25
• Today my mom has an award ceremony to go. She is collecting a certificate for her Arabic course. I was the only son there. Most of them are there with their husbands or their wives
• After that we went to see my wife with my mom. She met my wives doctor which was her friend and we talked. Eventually wife could be discharged and we can go home after 4 hours of wait. Feb 27

• Today wife told me that my mom in law that id planning to give out her inheritance to her kids… as for me I don’t think it’s going to happen anytime soon and my step father in laws family is just waiting for him to die. So… this is going to be interesting. I’ll keep you updated if there is any new progress
• Wife best friend and husband came to visit. I didn’t knew they were coming. So I had classes just now,m. They brought snacks.

Feb 28
• Dad in law came today to visit. That was nice. I made some fish and chips. I only had 2 classes today. That sucks

Feb 29
• Today H2 had sports day. She enjoyed herself and tomorrow the school gets a holiday so that's good for me.
• We went to eat some Indian food. It has been a whlie we've eaten briyani. The food was so good. Well the toilet didn't agree with me • Happy Leap year. I have a friend who is 8 today.

So that's February. It's a wrap. Overall I can say February has been better than January. But is still not that great. Here is hoping that March will be different. But I notice that things will get better gradually. It's been 2 months and I haven't finish a single modern game. Is that worrying. Maybe not... But I think this March I have to try

Mar 1
• Well got some news about the investment money. Looks like it is not going to come to us anytime soon. Which sucks but the lawyers seems optimistic in the situation so I trust them
• Had a good long talk with my best friend. I pity her. She is sad but there is nothing much I can do about it. I hope she does find God since finding trust in people is not a good thing in my book. Also inner peace is also good.

Mar 2
• Send H1 to school. She has art today with her teacher. She needs to catch up on her project work.
• We got visitors today. Wife's brother and sister with their respected spouses came to visit. I love when this family comes to visit because I am close with her sister and my sister in law. We love to gossip. But I can't gossip that much because I need to prepare food for the guess. Oh yeah my mother in law came to visit as well and brought the baby. I pity it takes 3 old people to take care of one baby. They in laws left early and the siblings stayed until 9pm. Overall it was a good day for us. • Talked to my best friend today. They are a bit depressed on the current situation. I try my best to console them but as I said before. Other people can't make you happy unless you make yourself happy. Marrying someone to make yourself happy will always backfire.

In the world: Taylor Swift is at our neighboring country. I'm sad that I didn't get tickets to go and I am quite bummed. But I have the movie version of the concert so pretty much more or less I know what is going on. Do I have FOMO (Fear of Missing out) probably? But after looking at the crowd. I'm glad my old brain is still functioning properly and say there are better things to do with my life. Plus she wouldn't know we are there to see her.

I am going to say this has been great week. Not that much drama and things were good. Let's keep the momentum going forward. I have a feeling something is great is going to happen

Top Chef Season 19

The only reality show I love 

Why this is the best cooking show: This chefs are the best of what they do and they are put to the test on how too cook with a specific set of budget, time and challenge

How? How can they cook something so great in less than 30 minutes. It takes me 30 minutes just to prep stuff without even cooking. 

I wish: I wish the Tv had smell vision or I can at least I can taste it 

Bucket list: One day and when I have to money I want to travel to the states and taste the cooking of these chefs. I hope they will be still alive when I am there. 

Mario Tennis

A surprisingly simple and yet fun game

Mario Tennis is basically the first videogame. Since the first videogame is pong where you play as a paddle and move the ball around. Tennis is just an enhanced version of that. This game is really the basic core mechanics of tennis. There are no power up gimmicks (there is however a power up shot that we can charge) or special stages that test you with your skills. This is just plain basic tennis. 

This game shows you that if you have good control and great mechanics, a simple game as tennis can be fun. This game is really is fun. You play as any of the classic Mario characters in 4 types of courts. Other than that is just a basic tennis game. I played the tournament mode and won. I can play the rest but after a good hour I think I already experience what I need to. Speaking of which I really need to start playing some modern games. But with work and stuff I don't have time. I should make some... Oh yeah A-Rank. If I don't play any
modern game. Probably on my 10 ten list.
