What is it about?
A group of frozen pirates came to Donkey Kong country and its up to the DK family to stop them.
What I liked?
The platforming is enjoyable and fun/ It's difficult and challenging but rewarding when you get to overcome it.
Each island has a different aesthetic to it. From the ice island, lava island as well a island that is filled with fruit.
Funky mode gives an added boost for those who find the platforming difficult. It adds extra hearts and skippable stages if it gets too hard
Diddy, Dixie and Cranky will add extra hearts and boost Donkey's abilities. Diddy can hover, Dixie can make you fly a bit higher and Cranky can jump higher over obstacles
Funky Kong has a shop that provide extra abilities such as lifes and hearts incase you get stuck.
Mine carts and rocket barrels are lots of fun
What I didn't like?
The bosses are hard. They require more than 15 hits and their patterns keeps on changing. The fish and monkey boss are the hardest ones.
Grabbing is a hit or miss. Sometime it works, sometime doesn't
The letter KONG and the puzzle pieces are not so easy to obtain. It does provide challenges for those who wants more
