Week 25 - I am an idiot. Yet again

This week was all well until my idiot friend ask me for money. Why do I keep doing this. I like never learn my lesson. But it's okay. It is only money. I can get it back by working hard I guess. Other than that there is nothing much under my control

• H1 got a new phone. We bought her an iPhone 15 with the budget of 4000
• For the first time I cooked chicken rendang.
• We break fast (fasting again) at MIL house. She wanted to come and stay the night but we have other plans for tomorrow which is good. I think I need a break from my mother in law for a while. Her actions is driving me crazy.

Jun 17 (memorable)
• It’s Eid Adha. wake up early to go to in laws
• Arrived at 750 but still was late in going to pray. Everyone starts early
• Ate a lot of awesome food. Rendang, Nasi lemak, lotong
• The family is all there. We took a lot of pictures
• Talk for an hour with my best friend. I miss that

• Mom neighbor did an open house. Serve Nasi Dagang and Mee Goreng. Delicious.

Jun 19
• Met my financial planner for the first time. She brought her kid. Had a good time talking to her and seeing about my future. Long way to go but it’s getting there

• Best friend was supposed to arrive today by flight got delayed till tomorrow

Jun 21
• picked up best friend from the airport at midnight. Send the family to the hotel and came back at 2am
• Still had time to do classes

Jun 22 (unmemorable)
• talked to my hacker friend. She managed to convince me to gave her money again… I’m really an idiot. So I’m not giving her money anymore… I think. But now I have less money to save. But I still to do something. It’s okay. Everything happens for a reason. Just trust the process.

So that is about it. I hate myself sometimes but I do feel that one day I'll get rewarded in the end. But for now. I think it's lesson learn (again). Funny thing is that I am not depressed as I should have been. So yeah. Eveything is good on my side. Let's hope next week will fare better

Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Maya Erskine is my new obsession

What is it about? It is from the old movie with the same name but this time they know who they are and they have to navigate being married as well going on missions 

What makes it so great: It is not the spy stuff. The action is great but it is the real life chemistry between the two actors. They act all awkward. This is more a relationship story and in 8 episode we can see it bloom 

Too many questions: They didn't go deep dive into the lore. But there are a lot of things left unanswered which I hope will be address in season 2 

Cliffhanger? Yeap. We don't know what happen in the end. Season 2 is confirm but the main actors are not confirmed to return. 

Godzilla Minus One

Really I don't see how this is a masterpiece

What is it about?
Set in the 1940s and above. It is the story about how Godzilla has the effect on people and the destruction it leaves behind

The Good
The Godzilla special effects are very good 
The story is not bad, just a bit slow 
Ending sets up a possible sequel. 
Take away Godzilla and replace it with a nuclear bomb. It is basically the same movie 

The Bad
If you are expecting an awesome monster movie. You will be disappointed. This more a war story where Godzilla is the second character 
Godzilla is freaking slow... I'm like super slow. Everyone can actually avoid him. He is however fast in the water 

The Ugly
How the heck he stands on deep water. 

After Credits: No 

Verdict: I can say, just avoid this. It not a fun movie. Unless you like the serious stuff 

Week 24 - Road trip

This week the only thing that happen that was consider noteworthy was the road trip. It was fun and yet tiring. I probably want to do it again.

Jun 11

• Busy day today getting everything ready for tomorrow trip.
• H1 had chemistry. 1 more paper to go. Sad couldn’t be there for her last paper

Jun 12

• Left late at 11am. Went to pick up wife colleague first because we are going out of state of a educational exhibition. I am strictly there as the driver and as well as tech support. Trip was smooth sailing. Funny enough I was okay since I only had a couple hours of sleep. Arrive to the state and went to see wife's friend. She showed us around her university. The area we went to is a university city. It is basically a city that revolves around a lot of universities. After the tour we had lunch and then we settle down at her husband's homestay. The homestay was small and cozy but it doesn't have any good phone reception. I did a couple of classes and set up the switch since we are using that for the exhibition tomorrow
• At night we had dinner with her family. Another family that we met during our time in New Zealand was there as well. Had a good time hanging out
• Father in Law came to take care of the kids

Jun 13

• H1 last paper. She finally finished High School
• Today was our presentation. We came very at 8am at the hall to set up. Our booth was so popular. A lot of people come to play the game. We even manage to sell some of Hana paintings. The event ended by 5pm. We stayed just in case we won anything. We won silver medal. Left the state around 530pm and arrived back home close to 1030pm since we stopped a lot.

June 15

• Sister in Law came for a short visit
• We had to tell wife that her brother in law is up to no good again. That idiot stole 300,000 dollars and now it's on the run. What makes matters worse is that my Mother in Law is enabling him. I really hate my mother in law. I honestly want to tell her off... I've been waiting for the day to do that but out of respect of my wife I've been holding it off. But mark my words if she wasn't in the picture I would really let loose. • Fasting today for Arafah day

So that all that happen. Very low key. Love it. Next week will be Eid again. But other than that no idea what it is in store next.

Harley Quinn Season 4

I think this season was the weakest 

Where we left off: Now Harley is with the Bat Family and Harley is now the CEO of the Legion of Doom

The gang is not here: The whole team is out doing all their own thing. Everyone is only available for a couple of episodes, Clayface only have like 10 minutes of screentime

What kind of DC universe is this: Heroes sucks. Everyone seems to doesn't care about stuff. Nothing has consequences

Ending? There is a season 5. But we don't know when will that be 

Ghostbusters Frozen Empire

 Who are you going to call? Not this movie

What is it about?
3 years after the first movie the Spengler family now moved to New York to bust ghosts

The Good
When there are Ghostbusting scene the movie does work 
Lots of old nostalgia scene 

The Bad
This movie is too long. They only bust a ghost in the first 10 mins and then it just lots of talking 
Not that much action
The Final scene looks to easy 

The Ugly 
Nothing much 

After Credits: Yes

Verdict: IF you like Ghostbusters, you should watch it 

Parks and Recreation Season 5

Councilman Knope in the house 

What new this Season: Coucilman Knope trying to make a change in Pawnee, Tom has a new business, Ann is getting pregnant and Ron has a new girlfriend 

Is this funny: It still has its moments. There are some funny stuff in it. 

I know a lot about running a city: Because of this show, I know about how to run a city. It is a lot of red tape... and it is funny trying to navigate it

Cliffhanger: It ends with it but next season there are going to be some change 

Dune Part 2

Man this movie is long 

What is it about?
The continuation from the first movie about spice control or something 

The Good
The cinematography is good. 
Lots of Sand

The Bad
This really isn't my type of movie
The whole messiah plot storyline is too played out 
The end scene was okay 

The Ugly 
Another cliffhanger ending. Not sure if there is a third movie

Verdict: If you like a long epic. Then watch this.  

Week 23 - Finish Super Mario Wonder

 Yes as the title said. I finish a switch game. That was my greatest achievement. That and seeing my best friend.

• Today wife cousin came and make some Sarawak Laksa.
• Ate some Chinese Food which is great

Jun 3 (memorable)
• Today I picked up my best friend from the airport. They were supposed to arrive by 740am but due to some delays I had to park my car and waited until 920am. They look so tired due to 38 hours travelling time. I send them home. They gave me some gifts for the family.

Jun 4 (unmemorable)
• I was having a toothache since yesterday night but today it was so painful I had to go to the dentist. They said that gums are inflamed due to food stuck on my wisdom teeth. So they cleaned my teeth and said it would be better by two weeks. Hopefully
• My wife said that me asking from intimacy every time is stressing her out and she did it because she doesn’t want to see me in a bad mood. Sigh… So going forward I think I need to be happy with the status quo. And I know that one day things will change
• H1 sold 80 out of 100 postcard size paintings. She made a good 400 bucks

• H1 has physics paper today. 2 more left
• I made shepherds pie for dinner

Jun 6
• Today H2 is having her graduation. She has to wear black and white and wear mortar board. She is happy and I am happy as well.

Jun 8
• Pick up mom from airport. She has a trip to Indonesia. We treated us to some lamb biryani
• Got home and had an open house in front of the house. Was great to get to know the neighbors.

So next week is going to be a busy week. Wife has a conference across state lines. So.. road trip. But I am trying to see if I can do more classes 

Super Mario Wonder

I finally finish this game after 6 months

So I started the game in January with the hope of actually finishing a new game each month. But life got in the way and I was totally busy that I couldn't even finish it. So this past 2 weeks I decided to start playing it slowly. At least 30 minutes a day which eventually will get me to the end. What can I say about this game. This game is Wonderful... Pun Intended 

This game is a complete revamp of Mario artwork. This game was made by a new team and they change most of the animation, add more enemies and made stages centered around something called the Wonder Flower. What does the
Wonder Flower does you ask? The Wonder Flower will change the stages into something unexpected and magical. The thing with the Wonder Flower is you never know what is going to happen. Sometimes you be zooming to the sky, you'll be a some kind of sticky creature or swimming in lava. The Wonder Flower makes the game unpredictable and interesting. 

Besides that you have 4 different power ups. The Elephant flower, The drill flower, The fire flower and the bubble flower. My favorite is the Elephant power since you are Elephant. Who doesn't want that. What I want to complain about this game. Nothing much. This game is one of the
perfect Mario games that I played. Everything is just great and you end the game. The Final boss is a bit hard but other than that is okay,

So This game will be my number 1 in my top 10 since I didn't play any current games and this is my first one. But I'm glad I get to play this one. S Rank for me 

Gen V

The Boys spinoff in an X-Men style series 

What it is about? Kids before becoming heroes they need to attend school to understand their powers. 

The characters: Each of the characters is interesting and makes you root for them. The problem of being a Superhero is quite real. Plus the premise of the series is interesting 

Cameo: Some characters from The Boys made some cameo in this show. Which is interesting 

Cliffhanger? Yes, but one of the main actors died in real life so Season 2 is up in the air. 

Arthur The King

Sometimes I wish I have a dog

What is it about?
The true story about how a dog named Arthur travelled 479 miles to find a new family 

The Good
The race itself is great. Love to see a condense version of the race
The story is simple and yet the dog is the main star

The Bad
After the race end it was like a different movie. Which is not bad but the pacing was a bit different 

The Ugly 
Nothing much 

After Credits: Yes. They show the real pictures of the dog

Verdict: If you love animals. You should watch this

Dr Death Season 2

This is so scary 

What is it about? It is a surgeon who does untested synthetic trachea into patients and kills them because of complications without any oversight 

How scary is this: Since this is based on a true story. Pretty scary since the doctor who did this was lying about his success stories. It gets scary at the tail end of the episode 

A and B story: The A story is about his patients and B story is a love story which I enjoyed more. Mandy Moore is awesome in this role after This is Us

Should you watch? Yes you should. It is only 8 episodes and every episode really riveting. The ending is not that great but what can you do

Week 22 - H2 wasn't fell that well

 This week was a good week for me but not so for H2. 

May 26
• Today H2 has a play date with her friend at the mall. This is the first time we let her go to the mall by herself without any adult supervision.

May 27
• H1 has Malay language
• Send mom back
• Bought a new faucet for the sink because the old one is leaking

May 28
• H2 felt sick so she is skipping school

May 29
• Wife student was supposed to attend an award giving ceremony but because of some miscommunication he was booted out of the ceremony. The boy was distraught so he was planning do something dumb. Wife had to come to the rescue. We brought the kid to eat and he felt better. I love how wife is so committed with her student. She told me that once the students are here, it becomes her responsibility.
• Had to H2 to the clinic. Dr thinks is probably constipation.

May 30
• H2 finally pooped and now she felt better.

Jun 1
• Today I cooked Nasi Dagang for the family
• MIL came to have lunch and dinner with us. They liked my cooking

Next week H2 has graduation and I need to service my car. 

Argylle

I didn't know it was a Kingsman spinoff 

What is it about? 
A spy novelist life went upside down when the novels that the characters of the novel that she writes are coming to life.

The Good
The story is very interesting. I love the colors. Everything seem to pop
This movie jokes really land. 
The cat is the main star of the show 
Love the plot twist 

The Bad 
There are just too many plot twists that at the end you just wanting this to be over 
That weird haircut 

The Ugly
Since this is a Kingsman spinoff, isn't Samuel L Jackson supposed to be the bad guy. Probably an alternate timeline 

After Credits: Yes. Intro to the next movie 

Verdict: A must watch. One of the enjoyable movies this year 

Park and Recreation Season 4

 This show keeps getting better 

This season on Parks and Rec: Leslie is running for City Coucil member. This year his team will be help campaign for her. Hilarity ensues. 

Relationships: Leslie and Ben has an whole arc. Andy and April are going strong despite their shenanigans'.  And Tom and Ann are also a thing now. That is so funny.

Special Guest Star: Paul Rudd plays the opposition and he is just fun to watch. 

Ending: If this was the last episode of Parks and Rec I think it ended on a good note. Good thing there is 3 more seasons of this
