Day 420: The End (T-1)

I Well, today is the day. My last day of work. Looking back at all the 420 days there are some unforgettable moments. There were also some moments that I would like to forget. But I won't change this for anything. This 420 days were the best working days in my 8 years working career... As I wake up today getting ready for work for the last time I thinking to myself... I'm going to miss it.

Having breakfast with my wife while waiting to pick up my daughter from school at 9. Will be having more of this in the future.

Arrived at the office and started cleaning out my computer files. Other than that I have a list of items I need to find signatures for.

Said goodbye to MA. Never really work with him directly. But it was a good 3 minutes chat.

Said goodbye to VS, JR, YR, and DI, I am going to miss DI the most.

Went in the operation center and said goodbye to KS, HF, and FK. Hope we will keep in touch

Went in the security room and said so long to RA.

Came back upstairs and TJ hugged me goodbye from the back. Ask me to keep in touch. Also say goodbye to DA

Spend talking with the team. Final gossiping about what we feared about the merger. I'm kind of bumped that I will not be here to see it. But I wish them all the best

Lunch time at Delicious. My whole team including my boss. With special guest KK and MV. We reminisce about our past. Talk about our future and laughed out loud a lot. CK was going for a meeting so we hugged it out and I think I'll never see him again

Back from lunch. Went to see DI and her usual spot. FK was also there. The final gossip that was shared between us. Took a picture to remember them by.

It's taking me a while to write things down. Woke up today and realized that shit just got real. It's a Monday and I am not working. It's kind of sad. Let's see if I can finish the rest of the blog

Finally returning all my tech stuff back to KJ. Before that group texted the whole sales team saying thank you. I was suprised that the CEO replied. He says we will meet again. Somehow I think it's true. But not anytime soon.

Said goodbye to TI. I am going to miss working with her

Final 30 minutes in the office. Now where I walked to every desk on the 18th floor and say my goodbyes. Final goodbye was to my boss. I said thank you and we hugged it out. Returned my ID and my parking card to DI and I left the building

Looking back I figure that I won't see 70% of the people here again. I will try to make an effort to keep in touch with them from time to time and hopefully they won't forget about me. But looking back at the 420 days. I loved everyone of them and I feel bless to be given this opportunity. Who knew that this blog lasted 420 posts of me working. Until I figure what's next for this blog and my life... I'm signing off for a while... Happy reading

Day 387: The nail on the coffin

Ok that's it. It was supposed to be a great day doing work and stuff. But it ended in tragedy. My boss called me again because he had something to talk to me about. Seems like the CEO was not happy with my 3- rating so he going to push me down into 2. The reason is all utter bullshit since I am not doing work outside of my kpi scope. That is not even the worse part. The worse part is I am being put back in probation. For around 3 to 6 months until I can prove myself. I really don't need this. My boss has the audacity to say "don't take it negatively". Of course I am going to take this negatively. You are telling me that what I do last year didn't mean shit. How would you feel... 

Long story short. I cried. It's been a while since I cried. Since I am a happy person in general. My heart still hurts. And worse of all this is on the couple of days of my operation. 

But do I have a plan. Yes I do. Will I be quitting. Yes I will. My HR friend (not the lady, I am pissed with her too) KS told me that don't be the victim. Whatever that means. So let's just head straight to  the chain of command.

Day 365: Year One

It was supposed to be yesterday that I've written about my one year in my company. But since I was swamped with work yesterday. I literary didn't stop typing until 430pm. So arriving early as usual. Let me take a couple of minutes to reflect on myself on the year... Let's make this as short and sweet as possible

Pros

- Great Friends and Colleagues
- Flexible working hours
- Work is unpredictable
- Lots of perks( phone, parking, breakfast, medical)
- Best boss and working team in the whole company
- I do love what I do.

Cons

- Colleagues can't separate personal and professional issue
- After 365 days there is still no process in doing things. Everything is just gung-ho.
- Work does get repetitive and tedious.
- Underappreciated. People see me and say I have nothing to do.
- Handling people sucks.
- Salary is low

As you can see the only thing that I highlighted is the only thing that is really sometimes gets me down in this company. Will I survive a Year Two? I doubt it. If 2017 will be my last year in the company I will take it as it is. I've already set up what I wanted to do which was find a job and see if I can survive as long as I could. Which I did. I may work for 365 days now but I've been here close to 1 year 8 months. I've been telling my friends that I want to find another job and they say don't leave yet, wait for your bonus. Which I don't know if I will get any bonus. But come April I need to make a decision on what do I really want.

Day 260: Ninja Training

Just got back home after an awesome sales training day. Today our sales team got the privilege to go for "Ninja Sales" training conducted by a guy name Hanzo (Even his name sounds Ninja). this Hanzo character is very loud and enthusiastic. He and his partner Vernon are there to put us back to shape into a great Sales Machine

First Task

2 chairs 3 meters apart and our job is to throw rubber Surikens on to it. Every time  a person got all 3 Surikens on it, they have to yell "Sales!!" yo get a point. So the first round you need to give your target and see weather you can beat it or not. The first round every team gave a small target since they are not sure if they can do it. In my team in fact I am the weakest link. I keep missing the Surikens from the chair... The second round they change one of th Surikens to a 6 pointed one. I really suck at it and cost my team to be last. One of the trainers being all douche started getting angry at me. At the third round we got our act together and got 15 points.

Second Task

For the second task the trainers brought out some teakwondo plywood for us to break with our non dominant hand (left hand for me). We need to write down what's our target for this year and yell it out and break it. I can't show the video due to privacy issues.

Third task

By this time I was exhausted (during Fasting month). After got punished and doing some Tabata workout... The trainers got out some metal rebars. And they want us to bend it with our necks. Like the avatar. That was scary... I got paired with my CEO. He is a big fella and I'm like a small guy. We did it 3 times and failed. It probably due to the fact that I can't brace his weight with my legs. After the third time, the trainer as us to sit down and rest for a while. My neck was red for the bending. After 5 minutes we tried again. This time with the help for everyone cheering me on. To tell the truth. I feel like crying after I did it. Cause it hurts so much. I got to hug my CEO... That's a bonus. The CEO ask me to do it again with SD since he had no partner... The next round I did it in one try

After that the training was I've. We got our Red Belt in Ninja training and as a reward. We got to eat buffet at the hotel

Day 250: Freedoooooooom

Yesterday I had a client meeting me KC. I was just there on observation basis. Since I'm trying my best to learn about other people's jobs. The meeting went well. Everything was jotted down. The clients wants to visit the other office in Cyberjaya at 2. From the main office I speed 130km/h per hour. I did manage to kill 7 minutes off. I was obviously late but it turns out the clients were later than me. The meeting ended at 3 and after that freedom...

After this level up will occur every 10 days. Like a normal MMORPG. The longer you play, the harder is it to level up. 

Day 212: Gain a new skill

Today I spend the whole day with my man RJ. First we had a meeting to settle. Then we had a big lunch. It was nasi lemak with a ton of condiments. After that RJ was having a stiff neck. He went for a massage. I followed but didn't get one. There was no happy ending in the end. After lunch we tried to figure out how to do SAP. It took us close to 4 hours to figure it out. Before and after lunch. But I learn the system very fast and it was super easy. After settling it, it only took 5 mins to come out he report. RJ seems to be please and I felt appreciated. The funny thing is I am like a ghost in the office. No one was asking for expect my collegue. Which I don't mine. Tomorrow I have a seminar to go to. Yay... Off work

Scratch that off my bucket list

Today I had the opportunity to met a very great man. I was even given the opportunity to shake the man hand and take a picture with him. The man was Tun Mahatir Mohamad. The 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia. Special shout out to my high school classmate who invited me to her beautiful smart home. That home has motion sensors, cameras everywhere and a lift that runs on magnets. 

I managed to talk to Tun bodyguard while Tun was going back in his Jaguar XKR

Fun facts

* it always takes he and his wife an 1 to reach the car from a public place. So they need to move early to get to where they need to be

* the bodyguard, driver the whole entourage went to see the force awakens 

That's about it. 

Day 131: Today is an epic day

First off the title should be I got confirmed ... Finally but since there are lot of other stuff that happen today so the title needs to be different...

Firstly... I finally signed my confirmation papers. So I'm a permanent staff member. Well there things that I need to do but I don't see it's difficult. It's like learning a new subject 

Secondly... Everybody seems to be worried about me not coming to work yesterday (I was on leave). Lots of how are you. Hope everything is ok... Makes me feel appreciated 

Thirdly... The boss organized an internal meeting today but since I need to leave early my boss is keen on me doing the meeting with him first before the rest of the guys join in... My boss is awesome

Fourthly... I was about to go home earlier and the all of the sudden... The lift crap out on me. I was stuck from 430 until 5. It would be great if I was stuck with a hot chick or something but I was stuck with one of my bosses... An epic end to an epic day... Happy weekend

Day 127: Chicken and Egg

No, that's not what I had for lunch. That is the constant bickering of the sales team and the technical team. The sales team says "upgrade your infrastructure so we get more clients"... And the tech team says "how to upgrade the infrastructure when we don't have clients" I just stood at the back at smile. It seems that everyone has a plan to proceed next year. But it all comes down to money. Besides that I just found out that the we have won the project and all because I did the tender (well part of it). So I got thanked. If this was facebook I will be feeling appreciated...

Day 100: 100 Days

A milestone for me. I've reached 100 days at my company. While I haven't got my confirmation letter yet. I am very hopeful that it will happen (I will probably be gutted if I don't get it). But anyway to share on my 100 day I will share 100 fun facts about me in the company. Don't expect 200 fun facts when I reach day 200.
