Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

What is it about?

In the 60s, Snake needs to stop the launch of a nuclear missile from an autonomous tank

What I liked?

I love the metal gear gameplay of sneaking from point A to point B

The boss fights are all challenging and unique. Especially the sorrow and the end

The eating mechanic is great. Catching a lot of flora and fauna really adds to the experience 

The storyline is serviceable but there are problems in that 

The weapons are awesome. The Gatling gun is the best weapon out there

What I didn't liked?

The scene involving the motorcycle. The on rails wasn't that much fun

The escort mission involving EVA sucks

The main thing that bother me is the amount of exposition this game have. The gameplay is actually short but the exposition can last up to 45 minutes long. Hideo Kojima is a story teller but this game really is a drag if you experience it the second time. 

Status: Finish the game until the after credit scene

Fun Factor: Game is fun the first time around but the second time really a drag

007 Everything or Nothing

 An awesome game with a game breaking bug

What it is about?

This game is basically an actual James Bond story where Bond needs to stop the bad guy before the whole world ends. Really that mostly the plot of a Bond movie 

What I liked?

Gameplay consists of shooting, driving, and stealth missions

Vertically up and down with grappling hook is so much fun 

The gadgets used in the game gives a certain variety in the action 

The car scenes are fun to play. The thing is this game is design by EA and clearly the racing parts are from the Need for Speed Series

Multiple weapons 

Voice acting and in game cutscene makes it even more awesome 

What I didn't liked?

Hand to hand combat sucks 

Stealth section it not that good 

The game breaking bug where you fall down and need to save someone. It seems impossible to get the girl before you die. 

Status: Played that stage like 40 times before giving up 

Fun Factor: This game is super awesome. Too bad I can't finish it   

007 Agent Under Fire

So let's start playing a lot of PS2 games with my GPD Win Max

What is it about?

It's a standalone James Bond adventure with a Bond that is not based from the movies 

What I liked?

Lots of weapons to choose from

Auto aiming 

Manual aiming

Gadgets, lots of gadgets 

Driving sections is cool

Voice acting 

Bond moments

What I didn't liked?

First person controls are a bit weird. The controls are too sensitive and there is no dual analogue setup

If you die, you'll end up back at the start which is going to be super frustrating since the stages are long.

Status: Finish the game 

Fun Factor: It a serviceable game for a James Bond movie. Worth checking out

X-Men The Next Dimension

Before there was a good fighting game based on a comic series

What is it about?
X-men and the brotherhood need to stop a new sentinel threat

What I liked
There are 4 levels of super and each bar is interchangeable. Which provides a good strategy when trying to balance the scale in fighting
Each fighter is varied and has different moves
The level 4 super move are over the top multi hit kills
The story is so-so but enjoyable with cut scenes

What I didn't like
The controls feels rigid. This game didn't age that well
The fighting is slow
Some characters have OP than most. Phoenix has a 80 hit combo
Once you played a couple of characters you'll get bored of the game

Status: Played story mode for 3 hours, watch the rest a youtube and enter the chart to unlock everything

Fun Factor: Play with a friend its fun but the gameplay is not that great

WRC World Rally Championship

One of the first rally games for the PS2

What is it about?

2001 version of the popular World Rally Championhip

What I liked?

Rally racing is fun times. Trying to get the best time for each courses is exhilarating

Physics are spot on.

What I disliked?

Nothing much, Rally games are usually feel good time. 

Status: Finished the campaign 

Fun Factor: One of the best racing games I've played in a while

Tekken 4

They tried something different and it is a mixed bag.

What is it about?
The king of iron first tournament returns. It was Namco first attempt at the PS2 hardware

What's new
Dynamic stages with destructible environments
Jin Kazama has a new move set which will become his staple move sets.
A better Tekken Force mode with 360 camera angles
Characters can switch their position to avoid being pin down.

Overall: It's an ok Tekken game but due to the fact of the dynamic environments and move lists. The game seems a bit slower than previous installments. There is also no final boss to fight so, the tension is not there.

Status: Finish the game will all characters

Fun Factor: Get the PS2 version so you can play two person. Games like these are fun playing with a friend

Spy Hunter

Man... I remember this game to be easier

This is a good game. 

Genre: Action

Platform: PS2

The good

- the Interceptor is the coolest car in video game. It's a car, boat, bike and hovercraft 

- the stages and fast paced and short (around 7 minutes)

- weapons systems

- you get to drive the 2.0 version late in the game

The bad

- the objectives reset everytime you load a stage

- weapons can be carried over the past stages 

- some of the bad guys are damn cheap

- the later stages are hard 

Status: Finished until mission 09/14. Then they ask to get an extra 4 objectives that looks impossible to get. I think that's how they extend the replay value since this game can be beaten in 3 hours (if you are really good)

Ape Escape 2

First game in the ps2 emulator 

Game: Ape Escape 2

Platform: PS2

Genre: Platformer 

Overview: I think this is the first game that use dual thumb sticks. The controls may seems a bit on a the tank side but the game play is addictive. Who knew catching monkeys was so much fun

What I liked: The stages are creative. The weapons give a lot of variety in catching the monkeys. I practically love the remote control and the bananarang.

What I didn't liked: The bosses are cheap ass. Lot of cheap hits and it takes more than the standard 3 hits to knock them down.

Status: Finished that main story line with the minimum amount of monkeys

Shox

My first PS2 game using the PS2 emulator. This is going to be awesome

Overview: I played this game close to 13 years ago. I distinctly remember I was really good at this. Boy, I do believe that the older you get the slower your reflexes get. This is game is freaking hard.
What I Liked: Rally racing its fun. The physics behind the game is awesome. EA Big (RIP) has done a good job with the game. SHOXZONES... Shox zones are the epitome of the game. Trying to get gold in order to get the shox wave makes it game really challenging. Real cars from real manufacturers
What I Didn't Liked: Difficulty, The cost of cars, Boxcar physics, The Matrix Effects every time you made a big jump. That damn annoying
Status: Type LOADED and got 10 million bucks. Buy cars from each catergory. Suck at Turbo and Elite... Screw this...

First 3 Hours: Played the first one, of course im going for the 2nd one. Kratos is still an emo guy. Too much shouting. The first battle was epic and it went uphill from there.
What I Liked: Action scenes, boss fights, storytelling, boobs ( :D)
What I Didn't Liked:  Platforming... sucks, opening doors...crates, quick time events
Status: Finshed and the ending is a cliffhanger... Number 3 is next

First 3 Hours: Notice that most of my games so far have been action games. Well I do love action games. This is a PS2 game. I was lucky enough to get a first edition backward compatible PS3. This game is great. This is the first game where is just constant hitting here and there. Awesome...
What I Liked: Gameplay, Quick Time Events, Combos.
What I didn't Liked: The puzzles, The sort of platforming... This is not that good of a platformer
Status: Finished the game and I found out the 2nd one is already out... Awesome
