Metroid Other M

This is a different Metroid experience

Game no: 426
Genre: Action
Platform: Wii
Release Date: 2010

What is it about?
It is sort of a different timeline story after the first Metroid game

What I liked?
Fast paced Metroid gameplay. The movement feels good in this game
Auto aiming its great when you are running from one end to the other
You can recharge your own health and missiles when you are low
Linear gameplay which is great with POI on where you need to go
Boss fights are interesting and innovate

What I don't liked?
Switching from third to first person view. I played this on the pc but with a wiimote emulated. So there will be bosses and scanning where you need to change the views. That can be tedious, tiring and troublesome in the long run.
The story. Really this is really some soap opera thing where really it can be skipped
Why is the suit makes her 8 feet but when she is not in the suit she is only 5 and half feet. It doesn't make sense.
Your upgrade is lock behind an admin access. Which beats the way of a Metroid game where you discover new abilities but really this is not like any Metroid game.

Status: Finish the game until the credits. Skip the epilogue

Fun Factor: A very interesting game. A must try at least once.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

This one improves on the original in so many ways

Game no: 406
Genre: Platformer
Platform: Wii
Release Date: 2010
Factory Sealed: 221

What is it about?
The sequel to the first Mario Galaxy game

What did I liked?
A lot of improvements from the original
- There is a world map which makes it easier to navigate
- You will get notifications for every new star
- Each place will only have 2 or 3 stars tops
- Platforming is challenging and rewarding at the same time
Yoshi
Cloud suit and drill suit plus the whole old suits

What I didn't liked?
You need a lot of stars to advance and some of the stages are super hard
The duck and jump is still hard to execute
The dragon boss is super hard

Status: Finish the game will 70 stars

Fun Factor: One of the best Mario games I played in a long while. Top 10 game of the year

Super Smash Bros Brawl

Since I've done the Gamecube version. It's the Wii's turn

Game no: 125
Genre: Fighting
Platform: Wii
What's Good:
- Smash ball (like limit break for each characters)
- Improved graphics (its looks a bit better than the GC version)
- More stages
- More challengers

Gone: Pichu, Mewtwo, Young Link, Roy

Pit: Dual welding, arrow guy.
Meta Knight: Overpowered and people's choice
Pokemon trainer: Charizard is always the best
Ike: Strongest smash power
Snake: Projectile specialist
King Dedede: Hammer of justice
Wolf: Rehash version of Fox with slower move sets
Locario: Pokèmon version of Ryu
Sonic: Damn fast
Wario: Got a bike to move around
R.O.B: One hit kill
Olimar: Strategic player

- FMV cutscene with adventure mode

What's bad:
- bosses are still cheap
- there a lot of things to do
- fighting feels a bit nerf compare to Melee

Status: played 100 + hours of it with 300 trophies to boot

ScoreA rare gem. Worth to be played multiple times

Link Crossbow Training

Game no: 13
Genre: Shooter
Platform: Wii
Developer: Nintendo EAD

Publisher: Nintendo

Game: Link Crossbow Training
Platform: Platform
Genre: Wii
First 3 Hours: This game is awesome. The use of the gun peripheral makes the game much more immersive. There are some stages the require us to move the nunchuck to guide link to shoot the targets. Link also has a rapid fire feature.
What I Liked: Gameplay, improves aiming
What I Didn't Liked: The final boss is cheap...
Status: The game is very short. I would say less than 2 hours
Score: 4/5 bullseye

Kirby Epic Yarn

Genre: Platformer
Platform: Wii
Developer: HAL Laboratory

Publisher: Nintendo

Game: Kirby Epic Yarn
Platform: Wii
Genre: Platform
First 3 Hours: The style was interesting. Its very colorful. But I couldn't quite enjoy a kirby game its just too damn slow.
What I Liked: Style
What I Didn't Liked: Gameplay
Status: Didn't finished it at all. Played a couple of stages and I turned it off
Score: 2/5 yarns

Donkey Kong Country Returns

Game no: 9
Genre: Platformer
Platform: Wii
Developer: Retro Studios

Publisher: Nintendo

Game: Donkey Kong Country Returns
Platform: Wii
Genre: Platform
First 3 Hours: This game reminds me of the old SNES Donkey Kong. But I didn't expect it to be extremely difficult. I thought NSMB Wii was hard. This is double that. The only good part is that bananas are available everywhere so you won't run out of life. Other than that, if you die 10 times you will get to skip the stage
What I Liked: Platforming, Stages, Rocket barrel
What I Didn't Liked: Stages... Rage Quitting...
Status: Finished it in 1 week. Didn't get all of the golden bananas but I'm not revisiting that again
Score: 4/5 rocket barrels

Tatsunoko Vs Capcom Ultimate All-Stars

Game no: 8
Genre: Fighting
Platform: Wii
Developer: Eighting

Publisher: Capcom

Game: Tatsunoko Vs Capcom Ultimate All-Stars
Platform: Wii
Genre: Fighting
First 3 Hours: Awesome game where you can fight Ryu vs G-Force dude at the same time. There is even a big giant lighter guy. Very slow but packs a punch. The tagging system needs work. The gameplay is very fast paced
What I Liked: Rosters, Super moves,
What I Didn't Liked: Tagging System, No Replay Value (unless multiplayer)
Status: Played in now and then but since it doesn't have a coherent storyline. There is nothing more to do
Score: 4/5 Dragon Punch

New Super Mario Bros Wii

Game no: 5
Genre: Platformer
Platform: Wii
Developer: Nintendo

Publisher: Nintendo

Game : New Super Mario Bros Wii
Platform : Wii
Genre : Platformer
First 3 hours : This game is awesome. But you need to play it with a friend. You can play it alone but it gets super hard after the first 3 worlds. Love the new mushroom powers.
What I liked : Platforming, Teamwork, Stages
What I didn't liked : 4 wiimotes for ultimate experience. The difficulty that ramps up from 1 to 10 in after you finish 3 worlds. The last stage...
Status : Finished the game on solo mode. Died a lot of times. Not touching this again
Score : 4/5 mushrooms
