Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

The prequel is a not bad movie 

What is it about? 
This is story about how Furiosa got started before the events of Fury Road

The Good 
The story is great. They made the story over the years. Anya doesn't appear until 1 hour in the movie 
Chris Hemsworth is a geat villian. Seems like a nice person but its not
There is action but not too much. There are slow moments as well

The Bad
There still haven't explain why this happen. I think they should do another preequal.

The Ugly
Some of the scene doesn't seems logical. 
Everybody seems to be on egde a lot

Verdict: I like the first movie. This one is not so bad as well 

Batman Caped Crusader

An actual successor to the Animated Series 

What is it about? Set in the 1940, Batman is still new and the police and needs to stop Gotham from the crooked police and even bad criminals 

This Batman: I like that he is more Batman than Bruce Wayne. Bruice Wayne is the mask and Batman is the real persona. It took him a while to realised that he needs to be both. This Batman doesn't reply on his gadgets a lot. This is more of an actual detective show. 

The Villans: Each episode has a villian of the work. There are some obscure ones and also different ones (The made Penguin a woman) 

Ending: The finishes the first season with a bag but it ends with a cliffhanger with the introduction of a fan fabvorite villan 

Week 43 - H1 graduated

This week was a bit all over the place but in ended in a good feeling for H1 graduated. Love that after 11 years of school she is finally over. Besides that mom will be here for a while until she goes to Eygpt. Overall I am going to say this was an ok week. Can't complain that much. Oh and I got very bad food poisoning

• Food poisoining sucks. Body was weak. I am shivering eventhough it is hot. Everything I eat or drink because liquid poo after a while. So I spend time sleeping the whole day sleeping. Wife brought some porraige and just try to keep cool
• By the evening I feel somewhat better so I send the cleaner home

• Had a disagreement with my mom. No a big deal. I feel bad but I did apologize later about it

• Took H1 shoe shopping. She has wide front feet so it’s hard to find the right shoe

Oct 26 (memorable)
• Today is graduation for H1. I send them early to school because they will be going by bus. We left the house around 9 and arrived that at 10. Go into the hall and waited.
• There were a lot of performances. One of them was H2. She perform a hand dance. The problem was everyone was wearing black so we didn't know who was she.
• H1 got he scroll and then we took some pictures. We got food as well. Overall it was a good day. Came home everyone went to sleep but I continue and do classses.
• It was all good until 1130pm Mom in law called saying that she wants to sleep over. Must be a reason but H1 and me are annoyed.

Super Smash Bros

The game that started it all

I've never played the original Smash Bros before but I've played all subsequent versions after that. Which each version that release they made it better with refine characters, stages and mode. So I thought why not check out the game that started it all. The first Smash Bros in my mind was a proof of concept on the idea. Get all the Nintendo mascots and beat the living hell of each other sounds fun. Well it is. But this game is really barebones. They only have one single player mode and a multiplayer mode with some training stuff sprinkle in between. So I am here to say what the game is lacking and how did they fix it. 

First of all the combat. The combat is fun but the controls are a bit stiff. All characters have 4 way directional attack and supers but its all just one combo.There is no charge attack (the fixed that in Melee). Chracters eventhough are fast they seem a bit clunky. Which makes combat not that particularly exiciting. Other than that everything about this game is fine. I can't complain too much because this is the first in the series. What makes it awesome is that they not just improve it. They went above and beyond for the next game on the gamecube. Which makes this an awesome series going forward. But for the first try I will give it a A-Rank since I did finish the single player mode and it was serviceable

Mad Max Fury Road

This is a videogame movie 

What is it about?
In a post apocalyptic world. Water is scarce and who controls water controls everything. 

The Good 
The action is non top. This is one long road trip action movie
The premise of the movie is simple enough to understand

The Bad
They don't really explain why everything is the way they are but I'm sure that is not part of the story
The Ending. They already knew what is waiting for them 

The Ugly
Nothing much

Verdict: A great action movie. Worth a watch 

American Horror Story Delicate

 After 12 season. I think they are running out of material 

What is it about? A nobody actress became the talk of the town after she starred in a indie movie. She is also is pregnant and during that time, weird things happen 

It is scary: AHS has stopped becoming scary for a couple of season back. Sure there are the occasional jump scares but this show has just become an image of what is it actually. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. 

Things people do: To get ahead in life. Do you that they made a deal with the devil to get where they are now. 

Ending: I really don't understand the ending of the story. But hey. Every year, another show. I'm good with that 

Fly me to the Moon

The economy of flying to the moon 

What is it about?
The US is trying to beat the Russians into landing to the moon but the are out of funding. So they hired a fancy marketing genius to get them more funding. 

The Good

The show story is simple and yet funny 
Both stars are good in their role

I love the colours it screams a happy movie 

The Bad

The stakes are not so high since they made this in a comedy more than a serious show 

The Ugly

Verdict: An interesting movie, not a bad watch 

The West Wing Season 6

Everything changes 

The best season: This is by far the best season of all 6 season in my opinion. Leo had a heart attack, CJ is now cheif of staff, Toby is now press secretary, Charlie is deputy assistant to cheif of staff, Josh and Donna is gone from the White House 

Why they are gone: This season is the introduction of two new characters which in the form of two presidential candidate from the Republican and Democratic side which makes the show is dividing their time from the White house and the campaign trail 

Inside edition: This is only show you can see how hard to run a campaign. To tell the truth I don't understand 40% of what they are talking about. 

Ending: It ends with a national security insident and the democratic party nominee. One more season left  

 

Balatro

This game is so much better with cheats

Balatro. The name that I hear everytime I listen to all podcast. The best game of the year. I can't stop playing this. So I had to try it and I have some mixed feelings about this game. Let's get started with the review. Ok first of all Balatro is a rouge like card game. It follows two types of rules. First it follows the rules of poker like a straight flush, a full house, a pair, a two pair. Rule number two this game is a rouge like so you need to survive rounds and rounds (call binds) and beat a boss in each turn. So there are total of 3 turns per stage and 8 stages. So that's about it. 

That is where the game rules end and the rest of the game gets confusing. So you get points by multiplying your hand. To aid your game there are Joker cards that give you different boons (abilities) such as double multipler, better stats on card and such. In the end of each round you get money to buy perks such as boosters packs, celestial cards and such. This game has a lot going on it.

That is the extend of my explanation of the game. Other than that, I don't see the appeal of the game too much. It is fun if you run works. But that is so random which means that you have to be at the right moment and the right time to unlock the right set of cards to get in order to advance the game. But most of the time you'll get cards that doesn't even give you anything good to start the run. They say the more you play at it the more you get good at it. But honestly unless it a skill based game. This game depends too much on luck. I played a couple days of it and the highest run I got was till level 6. I am going to play this again but this time on PC and with cheats and I'll give another review on that. But for now this game I'll give it an B-Rank.

Week 42 - Another week of random things happening

This week started okay but ended horribly. I am right now having food poisoning so that sucks. Other that that H1 keeps on doign things that make wife annoyed. But as I sadi growing pains I guess

• Helped wife to conduct a lab for her students teaching office 365

• H1 got angry at wife because she doesn’t want to wear a hijab anymore. I really don’t understand why and I can’t know about it

• At night went to see mom in law. She needs wife to sign a lawyer agreement for the inheritance of the house. They need to make a video recording but because of the video needs to be in one shot. They keep messing it up. We ended close to 10pm
• Father in law stayed at home today
• Made some potato salad today

Oct 17
• H1 is sick so she skipped school
• H2 got back home and now she is sick
• Wife took the day off
• Dad in law said I’m hardworking for doing class at 5am.

Oct 18
• Wife got a lunch date with friend
• H2 stayed home
• Wife is still hung up about H1. Honestly I would just let it be.

Oct 19
• H1 went to her drivers license. Ended up cost him half a day. So starting next week. I will send and pick her up starting next week
• Met a new friend on twitter. A nice 23 year old girl who is currently sick now. She calls me uncle
• Wife, H1 and best friend had someone to come and massage them
• I think I got food poisoning. This sucks.

Next week. Mom is coming. H1 is going to have her graduation. So that's about it I am looking forward to.

The Wild Robot

One of the best movies this year

What is it about?
A helper robot got lost in the wildreness and has to survive and call it home. 

The Good
The story is beautiful. It shows that you don't need to be related to love 
It is a quite long movie but it doesn't have any dull moment.
Each character has a time to shine 

The Bad
The ending is not that great but its a sad one. Good news is they are making a sequel 

The Ugly
Nothing much. Its a perfect movie 

After Credits: Yes

Verdict: A must one. One of the best movies this year 

Quantum Leap Season 2

 Another time travel show cancelled 

Everything changes: Season 2 is set 3 years in the future. Where the program has been shut down. Addison has moved on. For Ben nothing has changed. Great way to start the season 

Each leap: This season each leap is great. The stories are captivating. Plus the other characters get a time to shine as well

Love story throughout time: This is the most amazing part of this season. Meeting someone thought the years and they have change but for you it is just the next day. It was an amazing end to a sad love story. 

Ending: There are some threads are closed but in the end Ben didn't return home. The good news is Addison is with him as well. But no idea how does work. I hope they get to make a movie. But thats just wishful thinking 

In A Violent Nature

So this is what actual vengeful spirits do in real life 

What is it about?
A horror story about a group of teen distrub a vengeful spirit. But the twist is that it is from the killer perspective

The Good
It all makes sense when you look at it from his view. Most of the time is just spend walking from point A to point B 
You can hear the backstory on the side characters since its just mostly silence 
The murders are so burtal. Like Mortal Kombat burtal 

The Bad
I don't get the ending. It does switch back to a different prespective 

The Ugly 
Nothing much

Verdict: It is a very unique story. Can be watch if you don't mind the gore 

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Never read the book but I like the story 

Seen the movie: This is not like the movie, but this series delves deeper into the side characters and the main story 

Percy: He seems like a very nice guy. You can't help and root for him 

Why is it always the dark: They want to do a lot of cool effects but I don't think they have hte budget for it so it has to be all in the dark. Which makes viewing sucks 

7 books? So 7 Seasons or probably more? Who knows. But they are going to get bigger and the stories are going to get more and more exciting 

Hit Man

Not what I expected

What is it about?
A guy who works as a pretend hit man fells in in love with one of his targets 

The Good 
The story is simple enough to understand
Both of the main actors have great chemistry together 
They do show a lot of range of him playing different hitmans 

The Bad
The story get too predictable after a while 
The ending I didn't like it that much but it is a rom com

The Ugly
Nothing much

Verdict: Its an okay watch if you like romantic comadies 

The West Wing Season 5

This is where it get boring 

What happen this season: They got zoey back. Lots of policies stuff. Will change sides. The president maybe going to declare war 

Who has the best story: I think the characters are just gettignn too boring and that is politics in a nutshell. Boring. So I think everyone has a time to shine but I like CJ character the best

Notable episodes: The time the whitehouse went to lockdown. A secret legistative deal. Leo's backstory

Cliffhanger?: It ends with the US probably/maybe going to declare war on Palestine. Really you can't make this shit up since this is close to real life 20+ years later  

The Plucky Squire

 A game with so much potential but didn't stick the landing

Genre: Action
Platform: PS5
Release Date: 2024

When they first annouced this game. It looks so amazing and whimsical. A game where you jump from hand drawn pictures to a 3D plane was like magic. So I had to try this,  and it was free on PS Plus Extra so why not. My views on this game is very mixed I guess. First of all you play at Jot. The hero of the book. Jot basically save Mojo World from the evil Humpgrump. Since it is a story. You are following a path that is based on the story book. That is until Humpgrump got a magic stick that pushes Jot out of the book and into the real world which is the kids bedroom. 

The gameplay consist of hitting enemmies with your sword and sloving puzzles invovling replacing words in the book. By replacing certain keywords in the book you can change the outcome of the story. For example, the river is dry. Replace it full then water would come out of it. It makes for some very interesting puzzle solving.  Between the games you are treated to some minigames like a different style of gameplay such as a punch out style or a shooter style. The main part of the game is the 3D sections where you can jump out of the book via portals to slove certain enviornmental puzzle on the other side of the book.

So I can say I like the art style. The art is very pleasant to the eyes. Reminds me of an old school children's book. The narrator even has that British accent. The combat is fun. A single button combat and there are some sections of the game it changes play styles but the game is clearly catering for kids because of how easy it is. Plus it has good accesibility options which is great in my book. The thing I didn't like is that this game is so tedious. It keeps repeating the same gameplay again and again which makes after a couple of chapters you get frustrated and want it to be over. Some sections of the game last for quite a while which makes is super frustrated. Another thing about the gameplay is that you really don't know what to do and you will just end up doing a lot of trial and error stuff to figure out what to do next. That for me is a big no in  my book

But how did I finish the game even if I didn't quiet enjoyed it. The answer is youtube. I played up to chapter 6 and then just watch the rest of the gameplay on youtube. Since I do find the story very interesting. The endgame was not bad. The final boss moves from a 2D and 3D plane. Overall I give this game a B-rank. I just don't have the patient for it. 

Week 41 - Stupid Stupid Stupid me

Well I have finally gave more money after in my best interest that I think I am done. In a game there is a term call rage quitting. So that what I am doing rage quitting. I lost a lot of money but again money is money and I can get all that I lost back in a year. So not that big of a deal. But lesson learn kids. Don't ever believe that someone is going to give you money in the kindness of your heart. You know what the ironic part my dad also got fooled by this kind of scam. Even though the scam is a bit different but premise is the same. Someone promise a lot of money but you need to give some money for "payment". I feel so embrassed and sad being fool like this. But there is no such thing as a free lunch. This is going to be a permanent reminder in my life.

• Send wife's car to her workplace so it will make it easier for her to move around
• My best friend entered a half marathon today without training and manage to finish it at 3 hours 52 minutes. 8 minutes before the cut off time.

• H1 made new friends. Boys. She left late from uni. I’m happy as long as she is happy

• Today went to the bank and settle all my credit card debt.
I• paid my hacker friend the last amount of money which she said that this will be the last and I thought might as well. But I got cheated of it so I told her that if I she keep on asking for more I will block her. So she wanted more money. I sadi no. So she said she will handle it itself
• H1 went home super late since there was an event at school.

Oct 9 (unmemorable)
• Low and behold she ask me to get the last of the money. I think that was the last store. So this is considered the lowest point in my life. Getting cheated out of a lot money. Live and learn. So what I do next. Pick myself up and start saving the old fashioned way. that's the only way we can move forward
• Wife got called an awesome lecturer. She is an awesome lecturer.

• I have had it with these dumb hacker. So I think no more giving money moving forward. Now its just the mind games for 5 years. I should block but I want to see how long they can last.
• Wife brought the girls to the mall to get some clothes. They enjoyed themselves a lot.

Oct 11 (unmemorable)
• I finally did it. I finally block and delete number. This is will one of the biggest dark stain in my life. I lost a lot of money and I feel like a stupid idiot but that life. You learn from your mistakes. Plus its just money. Money I can get it back in a couple of years. Well. Live and learn.

Oct 12
• The weekend that means lots of laundry
• I am kinda frustrated with wife. I do understand she is in pain but sometimes I do need some loving but she can't give it. So I think that I am licing with a roommate rather than a wife. I was annoyed the whole morning.
• MIL called wanted to come over. Nowadays ever since she is scared of me for some reason she doesn't want to show herself to this house. I honestly couldn't care less about it. It is good that she doesn't want to come. Is not that I hate her. I just really don't like her because she is stubborn and she makes my wife stress. So it is better for me to just keep quiet.
• Went to the mall to watch The Wild Robot with the family
• Pick up maid

Done for this week. So what to do is pick up yourself and a new week is ahead. 

Super Mario 64

This game did not age well

Genre: Platformer

Release Date: 1996

The game that started it all. I remember when they showed this game I was in the US and it was like the most greatest thing I have ever witness. A Mario game with the freedom to go anywhere and do anything. Who doesn't want that. So I started trying to play this game and I found out that I was really wrong. This game really did not age well. For the time this game was great but now with todays modern mechanics and movement this game feels like guiding a tank. Mario controls while fluid is not that smooth. He has a couple frames of animation where he will stop. This will make getting to the precise platform to jump is a chore. Other that the floppy controls. The gameplay is like a normal Mario game. Get start and completed the challenge. I did a couple of Stars and then I realised that life is too short to play a game that is not fun. Overall B-Rank for me

Transformers One

 Make me miss the old Cybertron games for the pc

What is it about?
The origin of Optimus Prime and Megatron before they became who they were meant to be

The Good
The story is amazing. It is true to the Transformers lore
It is 30% funny (Bumblebee has the best lines) which is great
The evolution from friends to being enemies is great to watch 

The Bad
Nothing much this movie is perfect. I just wished that they used some of the classic music and sound from old Transformers shows

The Ugly
Nothing

After Credits: 2 Scenes

Verdict: One of the best Transformers movie. A must watch. 

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters

Part of the Godzilla universe 

What is it about: A show about the secret organisation Monarch that monitors all monster activity all over the world. The series spans over 80 years and the cool part is both father and son are playing the same characters

Its so dark: As in some places is just to dark. I think they do that to save on special effects but it makes of very terrible viewing

Family drama: The family drama is the main crux of the story. Basically it follows the Randa family and how it ties everything to Monarch 

Season 2: It has been confirmed but they added a new character in the mix. So I don't know what is going to happen since the story is pretty much wrapped

Die Hart 2 Die Harter

This movie is dumb for all the wrong reasons 

What is it about?
Kevin Hart wants to make a movie where the action is not scripted

The Good
The comedy does hit when ti does
Ben Schwartz is carrying the movie 

The Bad
The plot is so dumb. Really this movie skimp on the writing. 
Kevin Hart is really not as funny as you think

The Ugly
The ending sucks and also doesn't make sense. 

After Credits: No

Verdict: Avoid watching, this movie isn't that great

La Brea Season 3

It is a good thing that the story is finished. 

Cancelled: This show was already cancelled before they started but it was nice of the network to allow them to wrap up the story which was very confusing 

Cutting cost: Since they are working on a tight budget, they had to make some cuts. Gone was the big crash site. Most of the key actors from the previous two season were not present (but were there on the finale) 

The story: The story is so confusing that it doesn't make that much sense on what they are telling. Time travel stories are usually weird that way 

Ending: Everyone got their happy ending which is a win in my book even if the story end in the end was just ok

Week 40 - The Perfect Week

Do you know sometimes when you have nothing going on in your life and everything is just smooth sailing. So that is what happened to me this week. Life was kind to me. Nothing much out of the ordinary happen. Everyone just got on with their lives. This is a rare occason and I love cherishing this kind of week

Sept 29 • Today mama brought us a fancy restaurant that serve local malaysian food. The food was good and the prices was quite high. • My best friend is quitting their job tomorrow. Read their resignation letter. I'm really worried since they are not that frugal. So we will see what will happen next

Sept 30
• First day of eveything. H2 as usual has school. H1 and wife have uni. My day today consist of going back and fourth from uni to school. I think I went there at least 5 times today.
• Made some beef stew with garlic bread
• My friend choose not to talk to me. I think I need to stop hanging on to them that much. Really, in my mind I am their friend but they are not mine. They will need me when it is important to them and I think I need to understand that I am just a friend of convience. So just sit down and shut up

September is over and we have 3 more months left till next year. I can say this month has been a good month. Nothing to bad happened and everything was manageable. October is going to be another busy month for me. Let's see how I navigate this without any major problems

• Made some Arayes - Lebanese fried stuffed meat in pita bread

• The new neighbours experince a generator malfunction which cause the whole section in front of my house to experince blackout. As a result. They have to bring 3 portable generators to power the whole half section of neighbourhood until they figure out the problem. It didn't help due to the rain.

Oct 5

• Made some homemade burgers
• The finally fix the problem after 30 hours
• Brought the girls to watch Transformers One. Great movie.

Next week there is nothing on the horizon. Basically once everyone is busy usually life takes a backseat. I want to see if I can finish the Plucky Squire next week. But it requires an hour of my time. I'll see if I have the time
