What I liked about it?

What I didn't liked?
The game is more for Knuckles than Sonic since the stages are not that fast. Most of the old Sonic games are design like this 

It gets hard after a while. Platforming control is not good

Weekly Review (Week 30)

 July 23 😓😢

Today is a tiring day for me. Woke up did my usual walk at the lake. In the afternoon we ate something my mom in law made. After that I went back home to do some grocers and get my pressure cooker. I came home to find that the house had no power. Had to wait for a while and then start cooking beef soup. After that I went to say goodbye to my best friend. He is leaving with his family to Finland for work for 3 to 5 years 😢. I’m sad. I’m going to miss him dearly. I don’t have anymore close friends that are nearby now. Coming home around at night I got a call from my other best friend who is in Korea saying that he and his wife is going to a rough patch and she wants a divorce. So I had to handle that for a while. I didn’t manage to calm them down but they need to work things out 

July 24 😊😢

Today I decided to walk at the lake again. It was good. Coming home I had breakfast with the family and then my mom in law decided to cut my hair after 19 months of not cutting it. It’s short but not too short. At lunch we had some ayam penyet which was delicious. My mom in law has an electric bike. In the evening my best friend is having a hard time and I wasn’t there for them. They had an emotional breakdown and I felt bad for them. I feel truly bad. I’m a bad friend. 

July 25 😊🥰

Today took a walk with the family at the lake while one of them use the electric bike. My friend is stressed and it took me a while before I could call. My other friend is celebrating her birthday. While my childhood friend is already in Finland. Today I ate some noodle soup and in the evening I decided to make some lasagna for the family. So far the lasagna turn out good. In the evening we went back home. I brought my mom in laws maid with my mom in law to clean the house. Around 10pm I send my mom in law home. Overall it was a tiring day 

July 26 😓😊

Today is big cleaning day at the house. The cleaner  did a lot of scrubbing and cleaning in all the hard to reach places. But then she didn’t something wrong. She left the door open which cause Callie to runaway. The camera shows her leaving the house. I was already in a panic since if the cat is lost I have to tell it to H1 and she is going to be devastated. We probably searched the entire neighbourhood. Found some foreign workers and gave them a description of Callie. After 3 hours without ni luck and my wife is already crying and giving up. But after that the workers came and brought Callie back. We were relived. The girls got their final exam results and H1 was the best student overall with all A+. We are so proud of her. Tomorrow is her birthday 

July 27 🎂🥰

Today is H1 birthday. So for today I made her favorite dishes. Chicken Katsu curry with sushi rice, buttered mushroom and steaks. She got a gift from her aunt which is money in a helium balloon. In the evening her grandparents came and I bought some cakes. They have dinner with us which she got more money again and then at night I watch a movie with them. Overall it was a great birthday for her. My vaccination has been postpone to another week. That’s unfortunate

Today started like any normal day. I got a lot of work to do so I decided to cook some fried rice with chicken for lunch/dinner. Did some laundry and exercise. Most of the day is spend doing some work. I did try to play some Bioshock but I figure that the game isn't for me. Oh well.

Today I played Shadow of the Colossus and it was awesome. Manage to get 12 colossus before calling it a day. Today I reached H1 to cook some pesto. She did it well but using spirals makes it a bit less than usual. Did some exercises. Played games. Just a usual day for me.

What it is about?

What I liked?
The racing is face paced
The weapons provide a certain amount of strategy in it 
The music is old classic rock but with a chiptune sound. Loving it 

Upgradeable cars and weapons

What I didn't liked?
Progression takes a while. So it takes a while to go to the next race. 

Status: Finish the game on rookie mode 

Fun Factor: A genesis classic 

Uno game 23rd and 24th

We played this at grandma house. We didn't play our usual deck but this time we played Uno flip where you have to flip the cards and things will be double. Both games H1 dominated which makes her lead a bit further.

I heard this movie flop but I don't understand why 

What is it about?
A kid get to be in a movie with his favorite action star 

The Good
The movie is a satire of all campy 90s action movies. I love it 
The time in movie world is so interesting which is a contrast in the real world
I love the action sequence even though it is not that much 
Lots of bad puns 

The Bad
The bad guy is really boring
The movie suffered from bad editing because there will be some scene that doesn't make sense 

The Ugly
Nothing much. I enjoy it

A very enjoyable movie

An up and coming lawyer gets tangled in a firm that he can't get out of

The movie is long but it super enjoyable

The music doesn't convey the seriousness of the situation. It is more jazzy piano tunes

Metroid Zero Mission

Now this is how you make a remake

What is it about?
The remake of the original Metroid game with modern 16-bit enhancements

What did I liked?
The game is amazing. Everywhere you go there is something for you to discover
Powerups and upgrades help you to move forward in the game 
Controls are tight and pixel perfect
Bosses are amazing and some are hard 
The ending for the original game has a extra gameplay mode which is amazing 

What didn't I liked?
As any Metroid game you will get lost a lot. I need to use a guide just to find where to go next 

Status: Finish the game in 3 hours 16 minutes at 56%

Fun Factor: Probably one of the best Metroid game I played. 

Space Jam: A New Legacy

This movie is really unnecessary 

What is it about?
LeBron James needs to play basketball with the Toon Squad for the fate of the world

The Good 
A lot of character cameos from all Warner Bros properties. This is basically one big ad for WB
The story is the same like the 1996 movie
There are some jokes that is funny

The Bad
LeBron can't act
All of the characters are dress like they are going for a costume party 
The 3D models really looks ugly 

The Ugly
There is no cool soundtrack

Verdict: Easily forgettable/ Kids won't probably enjoy this

Weekly Review (Week 29)

July 16 😊🥰

Today I didn’t feel like cooking so we bought food outside. Other than that I just played a lot of Detroit and watch some shows. One of our friends the whole family got covid. So it was very bad. Her husband is going to be transferred to the hospital due to have low immune system. They just announce the Steam Deck. A handheld pc which is just funny since I have been having it since forever 

July 17 😊😞

Today the family wanted McDonald’s for breakfast. My best friend had to go to the hospital to send their brother for a test. They waited like forever over there. They found out something about me which makes them trying to run away. Sigh… oh well. I can’t force them to be my friend. Finish Detroit and the game was good. Going to finish some Metroid now. Played Tekken and the kids wanted to play,.. it’s fun seeing them play a game like that. 

July 18 😊🥰

Today I decided to make pesto. But instead with green I decided to go red. Basically just add more tomatoes to get the texture right. I also make some delicious breaded chicken breast. Food was so good everyone keeps fighting over the chicken. Other than that I played some Metroid. And watch some Space Jam with my best friend. It was okay. Oh and something funny happened. My best friend loves fishes so they decide to buy a fish. Once they arrived home to fish jumped out of the sink and went in the hole. The fish died 😅

Today I fasted ski didn’t need to cook lunch. Went to do a lot of groceries and then spend the day just relaxing and hanging out. Played some Tekken and going to try bioshock. I got some translating work lying around so that’s what’s going on. Overall good day. Oh and finished Metroid Sero mission

Today is Eid. So we got food form our neighbours which was great. My mom in law called and invited us to go spend Eid with her. The girls want to stay overnight so we pack the cats inside the house and pack some clothes. At moms house we ate and slept and watch tv. I walked at the park. At night I played some retro games

Today in the morning I went home to send some work files. Coming home I made some pesto after going to the groceries. Then I went for a walk in the park while H1 ride the bike. But halfway the bike chain got jammed so I had to push the bike home. In the evening we played some uno. I’m sad because my best friend wanted to stay away from me for a while. Probably because I am too much. I’m sad

July 22 🙂☺️

Today I got work that is needed to be done by 4pm so by 830 I left for home. Did work. Clean the house. Play with the cat. Had some noodles for lunch and come home. Today I’m cooking for the family some coconut cream chicken. My best friend called me back. They said they are sorry. And we are best friends again. Played some Genesis games and then sleep 

Uno game 21th and 22st

So we played 2 games back to back. H2 was on a roll this time so she won the first game. The second round we played I was on a roll. This makes the both of us singing in front of H1. Good times

Detroit Become Human

What is it about?
In the distant future Andriods are use for most of your everyday task. But then something happen which will cause a chain reaction that will change everything

What did I liked?
You decide on what is the outcome of the story. You play as 3 characters each with a different view on the story
I love Kara story the most because she is just trying to survive
Connor story is also fun. Especially the investigating part 
You are allowed to kill your characters early in the game which will cause you to have to play the game again to get the better ending 
The graphics is amazing. The models looks almost lifelike 

What I didn't liked?
Markus story among the 3 is the weakest but he is the main part of the story 
You need to pick the right choices of the good ending and most of the choices will lock you into something you can't undo. Most of them have a split second timer so you need to do split decisions 
The walking better than the two previous games but is still clunky 

Status: Finish the game with the good ending for all 3 characters

Fun Factor: Love this game. But once you got the good ending I really don't feel like playing anymore

The Pelican Brief

By the title you think its a code name 

What is it about?
It really a brief about pelicans (the bird) and the conspiracy behind it 

The Good
The movie starts of slow but once you understand what is it about. Then the action starts

Julia and Denzel are really awesome in this movie 

It is a very good movie based of a novel 

The Bad
90s action is just weird in my book. I think a lot has change since then 

The Ugly

Verdict: It an enjoyable movie. 

The Fugitive

The movie that started a lot of other movies 

What is it about?
A man wrongly accused needs to prove his innocence as well as being a fugitive from the law

The Good
During the 90s Harrison Ford is very popular

The movie is enjoyable but really its more a 90s movie 

The Bad
There are some paces where is slow 

There are not that many action scene and if there are it doesn't look to real

Schindler's List

This is an awesome movie but the subject matter is so disturbing 

What is it about?
Is about a man who save the Jews during the Nazi occupation in Poland 

The Good
This movie is amazing from start to finish 

It is not for the faint hearted. Really it has a very brutal subject matter such as death and torture 
It is long like more than 3 hours long 

The Bad 

Nothing. It an amazing movie. Sad but amazing 

The Ugly 

Nothing 

After Credits: Yes. but it is before the credits. What happen to the survivors 

Verdict: One of the best movies I saw this year. 

WRC7

I love rally games

What is it about?
2017 Rally season of the WRC

What I liked?
Rally gameplay is tight 
More than 100+ tracks each with it own different weather and road terrain 
The game can change the mode from sim to arcade rally (I went with the arcade style of rallying) 
Lots of cars to choose from but during career mode which is robust you only can choose 3 

What I didn't liked?

Nothing. Rally is my guilty pleasure 

Status: Finish all 3 different seasons of the game

Fun Factor: One of the best games this year. Love it 

Weekly Review (Week 28)

July 9 😊🥰

Today I decided to cook a one pot meal of curry chicken with spinach and some sambal to go with it. I played a lot of GTA. Trying to finish it as much as I can since I need to move to Metroid next. I took a nap and at night played uno with the girls (I lost) and watch the new Black Widow movie. Needed to sleep early because tomorrow we are going for our vaccination 

July 10 😊🥰

Today is vaccine day. Woke up early and go ready. The journey was far but there were no roadblocks going there. Arrived before 10 and straight went to get my vaccine. My wife however wasn't so lucky. Because of her cosmetic surgery she is on antibiotics. And the antibiotics cause her not being able to take the vaccine. So she waited outside while I finish up with mine. During that time she called her surgeon who did the procedure and scolded him. The surgeon assure her this shouldn't have happen. We went back to the car and drove off only to be called again saying that he cleared it with the hospital and she is able to get the vaccine. We left close to 1145. That was a long day. Went home we went through 4 road blocks but because we have a letter it wasn't a problem for us. Bought some kfc for the girls and rest. I started to feel pain for my left shoulder and feeling tired. It seems that this is the symptoms of getting the vaccine and it will last for at least 48 hours. I am not allowed to do any exercises so that my heartrate remains constantly slow. At night watch some of that 4 hours Justice League movie and then went to sleep. 

July 11 😓😅

Today I still feeling the effects of the vaccine. So I didn’t cook but I bought food at the nearby stores. Spend the day resting and just playing games. Finish 2 games at the same time which is awesome. I’ve  been having a lot of bad diarrhoea today which pooping every couple of hours. 

July 12 😊🥰

Today did my normal chores in the morning and then I cook brown sauce mushroom pasta. It taste so good. I did made some porridge as well. That was yummy too. Still having some bad poops. Played some games. Download steep but it needs to be online. So scratch that. Bulletstorm was too campy. So scratch that. I need to have a game that is fun in the first 20 mins. I’m going on the witness but im scratching my head.

July 13 😊🥰

I decided to quit The Witness. Since the main thing I want is to have fun. So I am not having fun I decided to play Metroid Zero Mission and Detroit Become Human. I cooked some Chicken curry with vegetables and then spend most of the day hanging out watching The Rookie and B99. Overall a good day. 

July 14 😊😓

Today I decided to cook some potato and celery soup with chicken Parmesan (this is the first time I did it) it turned out well. Went to the groceries. Took a nap. In the evening played games while my best friend knitted some stuff. Wife is in a bad mood so that sucks. Oh and watched The Fugitive 

July 15 😞😊

Today woke up and I don’t need to cook. Just ate leftovers and in the after we ordered some net bread. Had a fight with wife and I took a nap in the morning just because I need to cool down. In the evening had so send Callie back to her boyfriend because she is making a lot of noise. In the evening played more Tekken and Detroit. Finish watching the Pelican Brief. 

Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars

It is not a bad portable GTA games

What is it about?
You return to liberty city to avenge the death of your father 

What I liked?
GTA gameplay with a 2.5D top down approach 
The amount of cars, bikes and boats which each provide a different feel of driving 
The storyline is interesting 
The good part is all missions have some variety in it 
This game was meant for the DS so there are a lot of touch screen gameplay. It works with the buttons on the PSP perfectly. Jacking cars is fun 

What I didn't liked?
Selling drugs gets boring after a while. But that is the only way to get a lot of money in a short amount time.
Accessing your phone takes 10 second delay it does make it tedious 
The touch screen section gets very tedious and gimmicky 
Throwing molotov is not that good 

Status: Played the game until mission 46 and then there was a game breaking bug and then just YouTube the final mission

Fun Factor: A fun handheld game but a bit too long    

Black Widow

Finally after 2 years we got another Marvel movie

 

What is it about?
What happen to Natasha after the events of Civil War 

The Good 
The action is top notch. I can say each action scene is gripping 
There are some funny moments to cut the tension which is good 
The plot is easy enough to follow. 

I like the beginning where they show a lot of backstory 

The Bad 

The story actually lack substance. They are trying to make us feel for the character I personally can't because we already know where this character is going to be in the future 
Some scene can just be a bit shorter. Really some drag on for long 
Taskmaster is an okay villain but not memorable 

They didn't explain who is Mason which is a bit annoying 

The Ugly 
Nothing much 

After Credits: Yes and it sets up for the next MCU TV series 

Verdict: You can never go wrong with a Marvel movie. Always a great time 

Philadelphia

Okay from the title you won't know what is this movie is about

What is it about?
A man wrongly terminated from his job seeks to sue his company due to discrimination

The Good 
The story is very gripping during the time where AIDS and being gay was considered not a good thing 
Tom Hanks (he won an oscar for this) really made you believe that he is very troubled
The courtroom scenes was gripping even though it was slow 
The ending was bittersweet 

The Bad 
Nothing much. This movie sets up what it needed to be. Is either you enjoy it or you didn't. I for one found it enjoyable 

The Ugly
Nothing

Verdict: It is a very heavy movie. Really the title can fool you  

Patriot Games

Turns out this is the second movie of a trilogy

What is it about?
Jack Ryan was at the wrong place at the wrong time 

The Good
It follows one of Tom Clancy famous characters Jack Ryan 
The storyline is a typical case of revenge 

The Bad
This movie has little action in it. Most of the time it is spend talking. Which is not a bad thing but it does get tedious the game of hunting for the pray 
In the end rather than a big terrorist's plot. It is just a revenge plot 

The Ugly

Nothing much but shows during the 90s really have outdated technology

Verdict: It was okay. Nothing special  

Uno 20th Game

We played another round of uno and where I lost badly. It turns out that H1 is very lucky. But is okay. There are still more games in the corner and it is still anyone game. So the score is

Uno 19th Game

The next has come and we are playing it again. I feel lucky today and I won. And then we played another 3 more rounds just for fun and hen I won again. I should have just ask it to be another tournament mode. But I don't know if I will win or not

Weekly Review (Week 27)

July 2 😊🥰

Today waking up I played some WRC. Lunch I decided to make some pesto and roast chicken. After that I realized that I got an email with work. After getting paid a lot of money for May’s work. It’s 9700 words but I didn’t get to start doing work until late in the evening. This is because that my dad in law called and said that I need to pick up some durian. Had one and then gave the rest to my mom in law and a friend.

Today is just a relaxing day. I bought some food since they didn’t want me too cook. I did the garden in the morning and at the evening my wife borrowed a lawn mower from the neighbors. Overall it was a good Saturday

Today the girls wanted McDonald’s for lunch and for dinner we ate some leftovers. We did the garden in the evening and I played some uno with the girls (I lost) and watch a quiet place part 2. A good day '

Today my best friend is frustrated. They helped us to get the vaccine early but due to hospital politics our names were pushed back so far back until we didn't know when we will get it. Oh well... Some things you can't control. They want to go and straighten it out but I told them not to since I don't want them to get into trouble with the other department. Other than that I didn't cook so I bought some food to day and we had that as well as for dinner they ate whatever we can find. Played uno with the girls and I won and then more WRC. Oh and in the evening I did the garden after coming back from the groceries.

Today for lunch I made some fried rice and for dinner I made some briyani lamb which is a bit bland. Other than threat today was just doing some work. Cleaning the house (well the kids are in charge of that) and watching tv. Nothing much going on. Just a normal day. Wife’s back is still hurting. I don’t know what to do. 

July 7 😊🥰

Today I didn't feel like cooking since we have a lot of leftovers so we ate that. Brought my wife to the clinic she needs to do some surgery on her face. Frankly I think that something went wrong with it but it is too early too tell. Did 3 loads of laundry and 80% of them were dried. Which was on an accomplishment. Watched some Loki. Overall it was an awesome day. Oh and finally I got my vaccination appointment set for this 10th (Sat)

Today I cook pasta two ways. One is aglio olio and the other one is just plain cheese. I also made some roast chicken. I think I have perfected method of roasting perfectly moist chicken. Other than that played some Tekken, WRC 7 and some Chinatown wars. I also did some grocery shopping as well. It was a good day 

Uno 18th Game

So after I finish work I promise the girls a game. I was winning at first and then I gloated to early which cause me to lose significantly. So morale of the story is don't celebrate first until you actually won. We have another game the next day.

A Quiet Place Part II

It was a serviceable sequel. Very last of us 

What is it about?
Follows exactly after the end of the first movie

The Good
The story is still gripping as usual
More in depth look at the monsters 

The Bad
There are a lot of different story threads it makes it that each of it has a less impact 
There are some things where character progression can be avoided but as they it won't be a movie without some conflict 
The ending is good but it sucks since it ends just like that 

The Ugly
Nothing much

Verdict: If you like the first movie, you will enjoy the second one 

Journey

Playing a second time, still gives me the feels

What is it about?
You play as a traveler who needs to reach to the top of the mountain 

What did I liked?
Looking at my old review. It was very short. But this game is amazing. You have one two buttons and there is no other indication on what you should do but just move forward. 
You will just know what to do by heart. Which is amazing for a game without any instructions. 
You travel alone but sometimes when you are lucky there will be another person joining you online. The best part is you don't have any way of communicating with them only through beeps and boops. But it does make your journey more meaningful and special
The end part of the game is hard. It like are you going to give up but you plow through

What didn't I liked?
Nothing this is an amazing game.

Status: Finish the game

Fun Factor: It can't be my game of the year because it was already is. But it's on top of there. Amazing game 

Nidhogg II

 A short and fun game

Genre: Action

What is it about?
Get to the end of the screen by dueling 1 on 1 

What did I liked?
A simple fast paced gameplay. You can finish the game in under 7 minutes
The combat is easy and yet you need to be reacting very fast in order to advance 
Sometimes you don't need to even fight but just run away until you reach the end screen
The art style is very colorful. Very water color. 

What didn't I liked?
Nothing much. It's simple enough game to play 

Status: Finish the game in 24 minutes

Fun Factor: The game is just a fun arcade game. No depth but it is very fun
