Events that happened in March

With that March is almost over. Notable stuff that happens during this month. We went to a rich person's birthday 6 year old birthday party. The parents did it in a hotel complete with full on buffet as well as Disney Princesses. My little one had fun and I got a nice meal out  of it. After the party my mom in laws car couldn't start so we went home with one of our friends. We ended out hanging out for dinner with another group of friends. They think I am very funny. It's probably they haven't heard my material before. Other than that we brought our eldest to an art gallery. We networked with other seasoned artist. My wife seems to be proud showing her daughter's art around. This month was a terrible month for my wife. It all happened after she went away for a company retreat. She came back feeling very anxious and tense. She couldn't sleep and she was screaming at night. I feel helpless since there is nothing much I can do. She went to see her therapist and she gave her 1 week off work. She is getting better now. I hope... The most devastating thing that happen to world this month is the mass shooting at Christchurch where a gunman killed 50 people including injuring around 20. He was hoping to spread fear in New Zealand but I think the plan backfired since more and more non Muslim are embracing Islam in New Zealand. Finally I've made 3 new friends this month and lost 1. I think I lost her since she is being quiet. I don't think I want to pursue it anymore. I do notice most of the people I've met on Reddit are either alone/depressed or sad. Ok that's about it... bring on April

New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Mario never cease to amaze me

What is it about?
Bowser and his kids took over Mushroom Kingdom and it's up to Mario and his friends to stop it

What I liked? 
Classic Mario level design. The game starts of easy but after a while the difficulty ramps up.
Power ups such as the Freeze Flower, Fire Flower and Wingsuit
Bonus minigames thats get younextra powerups and 1-ups
Different coloured baby Yoshi that provides different power-ups
Luigi mode iif you are stuck.

What I didn't liked?
The haunted house sucks. I keep getting lost again and again
Some stages have cheap tricks to make you die again and again
Coin collecting is not for me

Status: Finish the game with all stages

Fun Factor: A great Mario game. Worth to be played once

V-Rally 4

An awesome racing game for the Switch

What is it about?
A rally racing game with real locations and real cars/

What I liked?
The 5 different modes.
Rallye - Race on tarmac. gravel and snow as far as 18km
V-Rally Cross - 6 laps around the track with a mandatory extra long path that needs to be completed
Hillclimb - Race uphill or downhill while navigating the twisty roads
Buggy - 4 laps around the laps with buggy cars
Extreme Khana - 2 laps getting around the fastest lap without hitting the boarder
The V-Rally mode is a career mode where you need to manage your team while earning money from winning racers.
Quick race mode gives all cars and tracks to play around. Which is fun
Controls are fast and precise and you need to be perfect to win.
AI difficulty can be adjusted
Random track generator that hasmthe ability to generate more than 20000 tracks

What I didn't like?
The game is hard. Even in very easy you can't win.
You win money and you lose money easily

Switch technical issues:
The game has slowdown when there is more than 1 car on screen. The frame dips around 15fps

Status: Played all the modes and test all the cars

Fun Factor: An awesome Rally game for the Switch. Even with thhe performance slowdowwn it's still a great game to play.

Sonic Mania Plus

A classic Sonic game for the ages

What is it about?
A return to form of Sonic game. Play as Sonic,  Tails or Knuckles to stop Dr. Eggman

What I liked?
Sonic fast paced and breakneck speed. It's exhilirating to go at blast processing speeds
The level designs. Some of the levels offers unique items that are not in any Sonic game
14 Levels with 2 bosses onn each level.
3d stages to get the blue spheres and also 3d running stages that are very hard
A nod to Sonic CD

What I didn't liked?
No matter how you put it. Sonic can't just be running around all the time. The platforming sequnces are a chore. It will break the speed down
The spkies that appear all of the sudden breaks down the stages
The 3d levels requires a certain skill to master
Towardsthe end the game stop becoming fun
Some of the bosses are a bit over powered

Status: Finish the game with Sonic & Tails

Fun Factor: Play for the nostalgic factor. But if you are not a hardcore fan, you will be frustrated in the long run

Undertale

A game where you don't need to fight

What is it about?
A boy wake up in the underworld and needs to make his way to real world

What I liked?
The turned battle system is one of unique things about the gameplay. The attack system is a mixed of bullet hell as well rhythm timing
The dialogue is fun and interesting. The story starts slow but slowly build up to the finale. Great writing
The puzzles are easy which is great for me
You actually need to beat the game without killing anyone to get the true ending. I didn't know that but I guess the game is design for a second playthrough
The final boss does a number on your switch

What I didn't liked?
The slow paced level up system. The game slowly ramps up your level.
The lack of items (or I didn't find any) to aid you in your quest. The more I look at it, the gameis design with less items in mind.
Some bossess are extreamly hard. The finally boss is way overpowered

Status: Played the game for 230minutes. Finish at level 18. Got the bad ending

Fun Factor: A great game to play. But would recommend to read the walkthroguh first before proceeding

The Lego Movie

This movie is not bad. not  as great as the first but still...




What is it about?
The direct continuation of the first Lego Movie. It follows the adventures of Emmet and his friends.

The Good
The movie is fun and entertaining
There are a lot of catchy songs
More Emmet and Wildstyle

The Bad
The secondary characters play a minor role in this movie
There are less master building and moresmashing
The bad guy motive is quite confusing

The Ugly
The real world scene are still the weakest point in the movie.
The transition between Lego and the real world sucks and the whole ending element is confusing

Verdict: A great kids movie. Adults will also enjoy it

Depression on how it effect you

This is a story about depression. It effects millions of people and it’s a silent killer. I thankfully don’t suffer from it but my wife does. It’s been hard for me to handle her attacks since there is nothing much you can do besides being there for her. People who feel depress has something trapped inside of them that they couldn’t get out. My wife is seeing a therapist and she has friends to talk to. She rarely talk to me about her problems stating that I would not understand. Maybe I just don’t but I worry. I fell helpless everytime she is crying for help, her hands are trembling, she is screaming from inside. But I can’t do anything. I can’t solve depression. I can’t cure it. The most I can do is be there for her. I feel angry not to the fact that my wife is acting this way but the fact that this condition takes a toll on her, makes her feel week and everyone around her feeling sad. I wish it would go away... but I have to stay strong for her... At least by writing this down I can a certain sense of stability left in my brain.

Captain Marvel

First movie in the cinema of the year



What is it about?
The first movie where SHIELD is exposed to a universe bigger than theirs. Marvel's first female hero

The Good
The origin story is ok, but the did it in reverse
The flight action is awesome.
The Skrulls CG effects looks cool.
Goose the cat is  the first cool cat on tv
Nick Fury is funny in the movie.
Great Stan Lee cameo

The Bad
The side characters didn't have much screen time.
They didn't explain why the Kree and Skrulls are fighting
Carol Danvers is a fun character when she needs to be but sometimes she can be a bit bland
Why are tthe Kree evil

The Ugly
Where did goose come from?
How did the infinity stone ended up there?
Does the MCU doesn't have hyperdrive. The should explain space travel.
Is Ca[tain Marvel to over powered? What are her weakness
What is the Supreme Intelligence>

After Credit: Yes. 2. 1st one is from Avengers Endgame. 2nd is just funny

Verdict: It's a not a good MCU movie, and not a bad MCU movie. Its just right.

Bayonetta

Man I tried to like this game.

What is it about?
Bayonetta is a devil hunter who needs to forces of evil

What I liked?
Combat is face paced and you really feel powerful.
Gun controls is fun

What I didn't liked?
The game cutscenes are more than the actual gameplay itself. There are a lot of exposition but very little gameplay
The quick time events sucks. You keep pressing and pressing but you never could land it.
The slow down time powers are a hassle to execute.

Status: Played till chapter 3. Keep on dying at the QTE. Stop playing

Fun Factor: The game is just not for me. But it is enjoyable.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil

Never judge a book by its cover



What is it about?
2 friends out for a vacation, then suddenly evil comes for them.

The Good
The movie looks B grade but in a good way
The gory effects are awesome. Each suicide effects is hilarious to watch
It looks like a thriller/horror movie but the way I see it like a comedy

The Bad
Besides the main actors,  the rest of them doesn't know how to act that well.
The movie drags on at the end for another 15 minutes.

The Ugly
Nothing much

After Credits: No

Verdict: It's my best friend favorite movie. I think it's ok,funny and smart take on a slasher film

Events that happens in February

in no particular order there are a couple things that happen last month

The most saddening thing that happen on 26th Feb is that my wife's uncle who was battling against Parkinson's Plus passed away at 8.15pm. He was 58 and left his wife and 8 kids. We went to the funeral and it was devastating seeing everyone cry seeing his face the last time. I don't think I am ready to die. It's sad to see that I didn't leave my mark during my time live. All I wish I was good enough to be awarded a nice place in the afterlife. I didn't cry but that's probably due to the fact that I didn't have any meaningful time with him. May he rest in peace.

On a brighter note, I've made a new friend. She is from the windy city and I love talking to her and sharing experiences. What I do find is that she only talks in short bursts. So probably will get 10-15 sentences max per day. The time difference is also a double edge sword. But no worries... I am in it for the long haul.

My masters is back on track which is good. Still a lot of work to be done.

Kids are fine.. all good for this month

Shinobi III - Return of the Ninja Master

I love ninjas

Game no: 321

Genre: Action

Platform: Sega Genesis

Release Date: 1993

What is it about?
Ninja master Shinobi comes back to defeat evil

What I liked?
The gameplay is a mixed of platform jumping, wall climbing and double jumping. Jumps need to be made precisely in order to avoid certaindeath
The combat primary consists of projectile weapons. Shinobi will only use his sword and kick if he is jumping or running.
Shinobi has 4 ultra move which consist of fire, thunder, wind and speed which provide massive damage and it usually used as the last line of defense
There are run and gun sections such as the horse aand the surfboard
The bosses are bigger than life and there are enough variety in dealing with them.

What I didn't liked?
Falling to your death. The game doesn't have terrible control so mostly when you fall is because you missed the platform.
Stage 5 in the castle. One wrong move and you'll get lost and have to repeat it all over again.

Fun Factor: A great Genesis game and still worth to be played right now
