The best 2D fighting game that I've played in a while

Does this game holds up?
12 characters to choose from with 2 boss characters
Controls are spot on and precise
Each character is animated perfectly. Sprites move flawlessly and smooth
Before starting a match you can choose where to power up your character the most. When you life gauge reaches the level your attack power will be elevated
If you loose a match you can choose 4 different option to make it easier to play again. I always choose to lower the difficulty level
Story makes no sense to me but the gameplay makes up for it

Status: Played all the characters and finish the game multiple times
Fun Factor: Spectacular...One of the great Neo Geo Games

Blazing Star

What the heck was the final boss?

5 different fighters to choose from each with their own unique shot, power shot and power ups
Graphics meld 2D with 3D sprites, the result is crisp and beautiful scenery
Enemies comes from all direction and so you need to strategies what aircraft to use (some can fire backwards)
The final boss is a baby that shoots laser... I don't get what is this game about

Fun Factor: One of the Neo Geo best offerings. Worth to be played

Art of Fighting 3

In your face fighting

Genre: Fighting
Platform: Neo Geo

 

Does this game holds up?
The sprites are very large. Covers almsot 60% of the screen
The fighting is very technical. You can't just win by button mashing
The difficulty ramps up after the third match. It took me 10 tries just to win it

Status: Got tired of dying.
Fun Factor: A solid fighting game... But has a steep learning curve

Aero Fighters 2

First Neo Geo game that I enjoyed

Its a top down shooter where you fight and avoid bullet hell worth of enemies.
Your ship can be upgraded to fire a shot that could cover the whole screen
The bosses comes in you from all directions
You travel the globe to stop the bad guys.. Each stage is uniquely crafted from that particular region

Game Gear

History 
This console was my first handheld console. I piratically begged my dad to buy me one for my birthday. The game that I got was a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (the game was not that great by I've played until multiple times). After a while my dad got me a multicart 18 in 1 game with a lot of different great titles likes Sonic Chaos and Power Rangers. The Game Gear was an awesome console because of two things. Colour and back light. There is also a very slight problem with it. It eats a lot of batteries. 6 to be exact. I remember lugging around a case full of batteries for every time a battery would die. Eventually I got a wall adapter so I can continue playing my games without any trouble (need to put a rubber band on the console since the adapter wouldn't stay on properly). The console died after 1 year but it gave me a lot of great memories. This was also my last console that I own for a while since I am a kid with no income and my mom doesn't like me playing games.

The Games
There are all genre of games represented in the Game Gear. Most of them are ports of Genesis or Master System games. Most of the great games are not from Sega apparently.  A lot of sports games for the Game Gear which doesn't play well in my opinion

The Good 
The side scrolling action genre games play well in the here. Fighting games as well translate properly and controls are responsive. Some games are even better than their genesis ports.

The Bad
The small Game Gear screen makes seeing anything in front in close to impossible. You will die multiple times in sonic because of missing a jump. Some games are not fun to play at all due to the fact the controls are not all there

The Ugly
The crushing difficulty and where some games really butcher the source material. Spider-man for the Game Gear sucks.

Conclusion
The Game Gear Games does not age well. Only 10 games from a total of  257 games that survive the test of time. Well at least this system is put to rest and will go on in gaming history as the handheld that tried to beat the Game Boy

My uncle past away

At 8am today my mom call me and said that my uncle past away. I wasn't close to him in any sense. He was always the angry uncle and we never talk that much. 2 weeks ago he suffered his second stroke which cause a massive blood clot in the stem of his brain. Dr's say there is nothing they can't do and let him heal by himself. Chances are very slim. It seems that the family was in piece of him moving on... May Allah bless your soul Pak Lang.

Sonic the Hedgehog- Triple Trouble

Another great Sonic game

Same sonic formula but witha lot of different elements 

Sonic can ride a snowboard and glider
Quite short for a sonic game

Sonic Chaos

A great sonic game for the Game Gear

A portable sonic with classic loops and jumps 

You win the game by collecting the chaos emerald 

Bosses are challenging

Fun Factor: A great game for the system. worth to be played 

Kingsman The Golden Circle

Why did Elton John sign up for this? 

What's it about?

The sequel for the best spy movie which is bigger and better than before 

The good 

Action is great. Everything looks beautifully choreographed 

The story is awesome with an added twist in the beginning, middle and end 

The end results does make me think 

The bad 

Channing Tatum was not used fully in the movie 

Too many subplots which makes a movie a bit long 

Camera actions still needs work for some action scenes 

The Ugly

I do love Elton John but why was he in the movie

Verdict 

A great sequel with top notch action. Worth to be seen in the cinema and downloaded again later 

Ninja Gaiden

It's official, Ninja Gaiden is the only franchise that is different for each console iteration

Does this game holds up?
This game is face paced and there is a lot of jumping
Powerups provided extra firepower but is rarely used
Bosses are very easy for a Ninja Gaiden game
The Final boss was a let down
There are couple of climbing sections which is fun

Ninja Gaiden for the 8-bit
All the games are great but here are the rating for each games
1) The Master System version with its fluid animation and face gameplay is rated the best among the rest
2) The Game Boy version is the best for beginners since its a bit slow paced but it's still fun
3) The Game Gear version is faster and provides a great amount of challenge for players
4) The NES version provides players with grueling difficulty and punishing gameplay.

Status: Finish the game and beat the final boss
Fun Factor: One of the great games on Game Gear.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - The Movie

A sequel which doesn't live up to the first game

Same gameplay as the first game but is shorter in duration
It follows the sucky power rangers movie but skips most of the movie part. You'll end up at the finale right away
Game is short. Like 6 stages short
Each ranger has their own unique move sets which is better than before
